1. There is an impossible engine sound outside the window. From the air conditioner unit or something else, I do not know. It was impossible to sleep.
2. The safe is closed. I couldn't use it. I asked the reception to solve the problem. They haven't decided. I called again. And only then did they come. I was almost late for the tour.
3. The towels are all smoked through. She asked me to change it.
4. There is no shower cap and body lotion, this is not provided in principle.
5. There are two mattresses on the bed instead of one. I asked to change it, they changed it.
6. They already started vacuuming in the next room before 9 a.m.
7. They refused to make an omelet at breakfast, saying they had run out of vegetables. Then she turned to one of the staff. The problem has been solved.
8. I came to my room to take a shower before dinner. There is no light in the room. I'm waiting for a technician. And I have dinner booked. I've already called the reception again!
In fact, I didn't ask for anything so special. These are the most basic things!
A friend said that there were no towels at once. Another says there is no shower gel or shampoo. Sound gets in the way of many people.
I've been flying around the world so much, it's just a horror in a hotel. This is a system management issue!

I stayed here in January. In general, everything is fine. The entrance area was beautifully decorated in a New Year's way, it's even a pity that it was dismantled. The room is not big, but it fits, everything is basic, except for a shoe spoon. There were 4 pillows - two are too hard, and two are soft, as I like. From lack of income - poor noise insulation from the street, cars and horns can be heard, although he lived on the 22nd floor. One of the advantages is the location, everything can be quickly reached by taxi, and the Medeo is 25 minutes away. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, but the prices will be slightly overpriced. In the hotel itself, on the 26th floor, there is a panoramic restaurant, with "a la haute cuisine", and the same prices, visitors are required to deposit but for guests without a deposit (keep in mind, they demanded from me and had to remind them). Everything is fine with cleaning - every day everything is as per the checklist)), we changed and reported. Instead of a lobby bar on the ground floor, there is a cafe-tea room, as well as two restaurants (one meat) and a beer bar, but there is no passage inside the hotel, only across the street.

He lived in a double room on the 17th floor. Clean, well-maintained room with everything you need. There is always a lot of bottled drinking water, tea sets. Beautiful view of the city. The building of the original architecture, despite the Soviet past, fits perfectly into modern Almaty. A luxurious lobby, lots of elevators, rooms without frills, but with high ceilings and airy. The hotel offers wonderful views. From the restaurant there is an overview of the surroundings, around the city, on the other hand-the foothills.

Despite the fact that I had to move from room to room twice because of the screaming music in the bars, the impression of the hotel remained positive. The Kazakhstan Hotel is a beautiful building, beautiful halls, good breakfast, friendly staff, high level of service, good restaurants. And most importantly, the perfect location. The hotel is located in the very center of Almaty, from here you can walk to any attraction. Very close to the Koktebe cable car (without children or if you do not like attractions, you should not climb, it is expensive and it is a loss of money, it is better to go to Medeo. it's much more beautiful there). In general, this is a cult place where the "Soviet chic" has remained, there are very few such places on the planet now, even in Havana and Belgrade you can find such hotels. Therefore, it is worth choosing "Kazakhstan" for the sake of emotions, to touch the history.
The only thing is, don't repeat my mistakes, give up rooms on the 25th floor, because karaoke screams all night, so that the walls shake, and rooms with access to the pool bar, it's even louder than karaoke.
But if I go to Almaty again, I will never choose another hotel, as it is now customary to say "for a good vibe". And yes, I forgot the main thing - the views from the windows are simply extraordinary! There is an opportunity to see the whole city from a height, the views of the mountains are also very beautiful.

If you know that you need to take a more expensive room and on a certain floor, where repairs have just been made, then everything is fine! I knew about it from previous reviews. However, they still wanted to sell me the old one on the last one. But I asked calmly - and they gave me a new one. Either at 14 or 17. Breakfasts are cosmic! It takes 25 minutes to get to the airport in the morning. A great place to explore the city and take long walks. Which I took advantage of. I slept and rested after the flight and before the next one - great!

The hotel is very beautiful from the outside and in the lobby of the 1st floor. But the room stock is very tired. As well as bed linen with bathrobes and towels. I would put 1 piece of furniture and 3 underwear. Hot water appears after 10 minutes of spilling... There are no tubes of creams or shower gels. But there are kits for brushing teeth
and a gel with shampoo 2 in 1. But with all this!
Beds and mattresses, pillows, blankets are very comfortable!
The breakfasts are varied. Fruits and vegetables are delicious. There is honey in sets, various pastries, sour milk, etc. In general, the food is 5.
The reception is quite qualified.
On the 1st floor there is a liquor store and 24x7
Therefore, there are more pros than cons.
If you are not pretentious about plumbing and the quality of the room stock, but just spends the night in a hotel, then I recommend it.

The staff is friendly. A small assortment at breakfast, queues. You can't even take a fruit with you. As already mentioned, "tired" rooms and strange technical solutions. For example, in the photo, the cable coming out of the wall is plugged into an outlet. There is just a film inserted on the floor instead of glass, does the hotel have no money to insert glass? The noise from the roads is a typical problem of high floors. There is no gym. Both stairs from the first floor to the second floor, where breakfast takes place, are closed. The only way is to take the elevator, which often has to wait.
Beautiful view of the mountains. Convenient location, only in the evening you can't go anywhere because of 9.10-point traffic jams.

The most famous hotel in Almaty, but at the time of our stay, the end of 2023 was renovated. There were very old rooms on my floor, renovated from the Soviet era.
