The hotel is very presentable externally and in the lobby, you can feel the "breed and history" everything is clean, neat, excellent location, near the cable car, 30-35 minutes by taxi from the airport, air conditioning in standard rooms, excellent views of the mountains and the city, bathrooms are already a little "tired", service at a height, breakfasts with a large selection of dishes and for every taste, the currency exchange office is located next to the reception desk.
One of the central and entourage hotels of the city. The rooms are good, the service is good. At the reception, the guys are always ready to help. There are difficulties at breakfast during rush hour, but this is in any popular hotel. Prices, in principle, do not bite much .
The building of the hotel "Kazakhstan", Soviet modernism, 26 floors, 102 meters. The architectural dominant of Almaty. The structural basis of the building
- monolithic reinforced concrete core with transverse reinforced concrete diaphragms to ensure earthquake resistance.
1. There is an impossible engine sound outside the window. From the air conditioner unit or something else, I do not know. It was impossible to sleep.
2. The safe is closed. I couldn't use it. I asked the reception to solve the problem. They haven't decided. I called again. And only then did they come. I was almost late for the tour.
3. The towels are all smoked through. She asked me to change it.
4. There is no shower cap and body lotion, this is not provided in principle.
5. There are two mattresses on the bed instead of one. I asked to change it, they changed it.
6. They already started vacuuming in the next room before 9 a.m.
7. They refused to make an omelet at breakfast, saying they had run out of vegetables. Then she turned to one of the staff. The problem has been solved.
8. I came to my room to take a shower before dinner. There is no light in the room. I'm waiting for a technician. And I have dinner booked. I've already called the reception again!
In fact, I didn't ask for anything so special. These are the most basic things!
A friend said that there were no towels at once. Another says there is no shower gel or shampoo. Sound gets in the way of many people.
I've been flying around the world so much, it's just a horror in a hotel. This is a system management issue!
Everything is fine, the prices are normal, you can sleep. The parquet of the Soviet years crunches a little, and there should be more meat at breakfast. But in general it will work. The guards are funny, they go dancing.
Wonderful location, views from high floors to the mountains! There is a bus to the ski area. The breakfast is good, the spa, the staff, everything is good. I recommend it!
A very nice hotel in the center of Alma-Ata.
The service is top-notch, the staff is friendly. The center of gravity. The restaurant menu is beyond praise.
I definitely recommend it.
I stayed here in January. In general, everything is fine. The entrance area was beautifully decorated in a New Year's way, it's even a pity that it was dismantled. The room is not big, but it fits, everything is basic, except for a shoe spoon. There were 4 pillows - two are too hard, and two are soft, as I like. From lack of income - poor noise insulation from the street, cars and horns can be heard, although he lived on the 22nd floor. One of the advantages is the location, everything can be quickly reached by taxi, and the Medeo is 25 minutes away. There are many restaurants and cafes nearby, but the prices will be slightly overpriced. In the hotel itself, on the 26th floor, there is a panoramic restaurant, with "a la haute cuisine", and the same prices, visitors are required to deposit but for guests without a deposit (keep in mind, they demanded from me and had to remind them). Everything is fine with cleaning - every day everything is as per the checklist)), we changed and reported. Instead of a lobby bar on the ground floor, there is a cafe-tea room, as well as two restaurants (one meat) and a beer bar, but there is no passage inside the hotel, only across the street.
He lived in a double room on the 17th floor. Clean, well-maintained room with everything you need. There is always a lot of bottled drinking water, tea sets. Beautiful view of the city. The breakfasts are average in assortment, but everything I tried was delicious. There is a good restaurant near the hotel, the city center.
A nice, comfortable hotel!!! Comfortable living conditions, polite and helpful staff! Everything is thought out to the smallest detail! It is impossible not to mention the gorgeous view from the window of the mountains, including on the Kok Tube
The rooms are beautiful. The food is not as homemade, but pleasant. The service is good.Breakfast is included. The staff is kind. The location is convenient and the interior is very beautiful. The view is gorgeous.
I like the hotel for its atmosphere of benevolence and hospitality. But there are some shortcomings. The staff performed their duties poorly: the floors in the room were not vacuumed all the days of the stay, and the floors in the bathroom were not washed.
My relatives came to me and rented rooms at the hotel "Kazakhstan" - the service is great, the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, the guys at the reception were friendly, the restaurant is beautiful - after renovation.
Very tasty coffee.
The building of the original architecture, despite the Soviet past, fits perfectly into modern Almaty. A luxurious lobby, lots of elevators, rooms without frills, but with high ceilings and airy. The hotel offers wonderful views. From the restaurant there is an overview of the surroundings, around the city, on the other hand-the foothills.
Four of them. I really don't like the breakfasts, the rooms are small. This is the Soviet landmark of Almaty. There is a great restaurant on the roof, not cheap but delicious. There's also a couple downstairs, a nice Guinness bar across the street. You can stay for a couple of nights
I stayed here for the second time. I am very pleased! The staff is good, the breakfasts are very varied. The location itself is very good - there is a place to walk or have dinner. Another important point is that the hotel is earthquake-resistant! The rooms, of course, are from Soviet times, but not bad.
Despite the fact that I had to move from room to room twice because of the screaming music in the bars, the impression of the hotel remained positive. The Kazakhstan Hotel is a beautiful building, beautiful halls, good breakfast, friendly staff, high level of service, good restaurants. And most importantly, the perfect location. The hotel is located in the very center of Almaty, from here you can walk to any attraction. Very close to the Koktebe cable car (without children or if you do not like attractions, you should not climb, it is expensive and it is a loss of money, it is better to go to Medeo. it's much more beautiful there). In general, this is a cult place where the "Soviet chic" has remained, there are very few such places on the planet now, even in Havana and Belgrade you can find such hotels. Therefore, it is worth choosing "Kazakhstan" for the sake of emotions, to touch the history.
The only thing is, don't repeat my mistakes, give up rooms on the 25th floor, because karaoke screams all night, so that the walls shake, and rooms with access to the pool bar, it's even louder than karaoke.
But if I go to Almaty again, I will never choose another hotel, as it is now customary to say "for a good vibe". And yes, I forgot the main thing - the views from the windows are simply extraordinary! There is an opportunity to see the whole city from a height, the views of the mountains are also very beautiful.
If you know that you need to take a more expensive room and on a certain floor, where repairs have just been made, then everything is fine! I knew about it from previous reviews. However, they still wanted to sell me the old one on the last one. But I asked calmly - and they gave me a new one. Either at 14 or 17. Breakfasts are cosmic! It takes 25 minutes to get to the airport in the morning. A great place to explore the city and take long walks. Which I took advantage of. I slept and rested after the flight and before the next one - great!
I was pleased with my comfort, modern style and good quality of service. Its convenient location close to cafes, parks and shopping malls makes it an ideal place to relax. Delicious breakfasts complement the pleasant experience of your stay. I recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.
The hotel is very beautiful from the outside and in the lobby of the 1st floor. But the room stock is very tired. As well as bed linen with bathrobes and towels. I would put 1 piece of furniture and 3 underwear. Hot water appears after 10 minutes of spilling... There are no tubes of creams or shower gels. But there are kits for brushing teeth
and a gel with shampoo 2 in 1. But with all this!
Beds and mattresses, pillows, blankets are very comfortable!
The breakfasts are varied. Fruits and vegetables are delicious. There is honey in sets, various pastries, sour milk, etc. In general, the food is 5.
The reception is quite qualified.
On the 1st floor there is a liquor store and 24x7
Therefore, there are more pros than cons.
If you are not pretentious about plumbing and the quality of the room stock, but just spends the night in a hotel, then I recommend it.
Good price/quality ratio. The hotel is old, but apparently now run by the Turks, a very tasty and varied breakfast. The reception handled the check-in very quickly. But if the bed and linen are important to someone, then the pillows and blanket clearly need to be replaced.
Nice hotel. The ideal location in the city center. Although I stayed in the most ordinary budget room, it was quite spacious and the view from the window opened onto the mountains. The staff is polite. The breakfast is delicious. One of the disadvantages is a slightly shabby environment, as well as overloaded elevators (sometimes it takes 10 minutes to go down or up).
DD, I love staying at this hotel! Very good customer service. There are always pleasant staff at the reception who serve you quickly! The view from the window is very beautiful! I recommend
One of the most favorite places in Almaty.
We invite all the guests to the restaurant on the top floor, everyone immediately falls in love with our city
A decent hotel. Everything is on the level. The only thing to keep in mind is that the hotel has a popular restaurant, and a lot of guests come there in the evenings, everyone stands in the parking lot in 4 rows. If you want to leave in the evening, think about it in advance! The staff is helpful and friendly. The restaurant is delicious)
We were in July 2024, we lived on the 17th floor. This floor has been renovated, renovated in pleasant sand colors. The view was on the Kok Tobe! Perfect.
But for some reason, the problems with the drain barrel were solved promptly after the call.
The 16th floor is being renovated, during the day, if in the room, then the noise, of course, interferes. And how else to do the renovation, the guys try to work until 17 o'clock.
Breakfast in the restaurant is varied.
But, there are also many places nearby with more interesting cuisine for the same money.
I recommend it!!!
Firstly, the Kazakhstan Hotel is a landmark of our southern capital! An old resident of my beloved city of Almaty! Secondly, it is earthquake-resistant! Plus, the interior is always being updated, excellent service, excellent cuisine from national to pan-Asian
We had a rest at a corporate discount. I liked everything very much. Especially the view from the window. The room service is good. Convenient location. A souvenir shop with adequate prices, I regretted that I did not buy there. Then I had to buy more expensive elsewhere.
The Kazakhstan hotel itself is good, the main thing is not to take the express, the rooms are dead, karaoke did not let you sleep until one o'clock in the morning, the beds and pillows are not comfortable.
Everything is fine upon check-in, very polite staff
Great rooms. The gradual reconstruction of the hotel rooms is currently underway. After the update, everything is modern 👍🏽
And the location of the hotel is gorgeous! The center and everything nearby are within walking distance! Excellent breakfasts.
Pros: a historic building, if you're lucky with the weather, then with stunning mountain views, friendly staff at the resort, excellent breakfasts, walking distance to the main attractions of the city
Cons: the rooms themselves are a little tired, we periodically heard some kind of technical noise - ventilation systems may be very slow elevators
The hotel was once good, but "tired". And it was especially bad at breakfast — the child was refused to make porridge without milk, and there was nothing for him at the buffet. We had fruit for breakfast. Local Ibis in comparison — 5 stars
We were at the hotel on August 4-5, 2023, and the check for accommodation has unfortunately not been preserved since then.
We have reserved this hotel several times. Very tasty breakfasts and a beautiful panorama from the window. And also 100% peace of mind, as the building was built using special technology in case of earthquakes. This building is quiet and peaceful. We lived for a week, never shaking. Good hotel staff.
The staff is friendly. A small assortment at breakfast, queues. You can't even take a fruit with you. As already mentioned, "tired" rooms and strange technical solutions. For example, in the photo, the cable coming out of the wall is plugged into an outlet. There is just a film inserted on the floor instead of glass, does the hotel have no money to insert glass? The noise from the roads is a typical problem of high floors. There is no gym. Both stairs from the first floor to the second floor, where breakfast takes place, are closed. The only way is to take the elevator, which often has to wait.
Beautiful view of the mountains. Convenient location, only in the evening you can't go anywhere because of 9.10-point traffic jams.
Pros: Clean, cozy, looks like beauty. The breakfast was also delicious, halal and lots of suggestions.
Cons: The elevator takes a long time to wait. If not in use, all elevators go down to the 1st floor.
This hotel - Kazakhstan has been a symbol of Almaty for several decades! Every time I do not cease to admire and be surprised by its original architecture. We were in the grand ballroom, which is located on the ground floor of the Kazakhstan hotel. Very impressive. Everything is so thought out and the ceiling height and ventilation and interior! And I want to say that excellent service and excellent cuisine!!! I am proud of the beautiful symbol of our beloved city))))
Gorgeous rooms, courteous staff, everything is within walking distance, the city center, I really liked it here, a comfortable warm bathroom, clean and tidy.....
A wonderful place, clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff. Everything is at your level. Thank you for your hospitality. I definitely recommend it.
The most famous hotel in Almaty, but at the time of our stay, the end of 2023 was renovated. There were very old rooms on my floor, renovated from the Soviet era. But the good location and excellent breakfasts brightened up the stay. I think it will be incomparably better when the repairs are completed.
