I visited Almaty for the first time, and Kazakhstan too. The hotel Kazakhstan was easily booked immediately, from the moment of its selection, ordered on the website. No intrusive offers, documents were promptly sent. Subsequently, at the reception, that feeling from the moment of booking has already passed into the present. Polite staff, pleasant service. I recommend not to give up breakfast at the hotel, it is very tasty, varied and tables on the second floor overlooking the hall, the entrance group. The rooms are clean, they take care of cleanliness every day. Due to its location in the city, the hotel is also conveniently located. There is a bus stop opposite, from where you can get to Medeo. There is also a cable car available, from which you can see the city of Almaty, surrounded by mountains. Beauty! If only the weather would allow you to enjoy the beauty, cloud cover is quite common, but it does not reduce your good mood.

The reception area is incredibly beautiful and comfortable, which does not interfere at all with the interiors of both floors and rooms
Inside, on the ground floor there is a cozy cafe, as well as a souvenir shop, where the best gifts of Kazakhstan have been painstakingly selected. Highly recommended!
The window first had a view of the micro mountain, and then a couple of hours later the majestic peaks appeared. True magic!

The hotel is at a height, the view from the window of the 25th floor is amazing! the room is large, comfortable, the bed is very comfortable, the food is excellent, the service is very friendly and responsive.
Of the cons, I personally did not have enough light where the table is a mirror, it is too dark to use for work.
Otherwise, everything is very wonderful. I will definitely come back.

I'm just in love with this hotel, a earthquake-resistant building from Soviet times, is a landmark of the southern capital. BUT there is not even a smell of a "scoop" there, from the upper floors and the restaurant there is a magnificent view of the mountains, the city itself, and the NIGHT ALMATY is simply amazing, excellent breakfasts for every taste from porridge and cottage cheese to fried eggs with sausages, from pancakes to meringue, from fresh strawberries to pickled cucumbers. VERY polite staff speaking 2 or more languages, there are always a lot of foreigners among the guests.

An atmospheric place to stay at least for a couple of nights. Life here is in full swing 24/7.
The hotel is not new, you can hedge by choosing a superior room, not a standart. On high floors, you have to wait for hot water (up to 10 minutes at peak time). Comfortable beds and pillows, the bathroom is compact, there are not enough hooks for towels and a bathrobe. Cleaning depends on the maids on shift.
Friendly reception staff, but with a large number of guests at the same time at the counter, you have to wait a long time for a free employee. Great breakfast. There is a good coffee shop in the lobby. There are restaurants in the hotel building, including round-the-clock Noodles.
Indeed, it can be noisy from music from the street, especially if there is a concert nearby on the square, but no music from the bar on the top floor interfered (I lived on the 19th floor).
The location of the hotel is obviously excellent.

We stayed at the hotel in 2022. At that time, there were no complaints about the room, it was clean, the sets and tea were reported during cleaning, the breakfasts were excellent. When booking, we asked for a room with a mountain view, if possible, the request was satisfied, which we were very happy about :)
The only minus was that we were in a private car, parking was free for guests, we left the car number at the reception several times, but when leaving the territory we were asked to pay the parking bill all the time, we had to figure it out and spending time to prove that we are guests and we don't need to pay anything.
And so a great option to stay in Almaty, we recommend it!

The hotel is good. Price is quality. Regardless of the room level, cleaning is equally good. The rooms have everything you need, change of towels and bed linen every day. Also in the rooms there are bathrobes, slippers, shaving and dental kits, shampoo, gel, etc. Separately, I would like to mention very good breakfasts, which are included in the price. Buffet, you won't leave hungry. The staff is friendly and courteous.

I was at the hotel in early September 2024, we stopped by late, we went into the room and there was no hot water. They gave it 2 hours later. Okay, okay, while we ate, the time passed unnoticed. In general, the first impression upon entering is wow, beautiful, light. We go up to our floor - hello USSR, there is carpet in the room itself, it is stained, the smell in the room is musty, I had to open the window. There is no hood in the shower. Well, the bed is normal, I slept well. Because of this, I did not get to breakfast, they said that the breakfast was great.

I really liked this hotel. The hotel building is considered, if I am not mistaken, a masterpiece of Soviet architecture (the times when the Kazakh SSR was part of the RSFSR). Good location. Clean, modern rooms, a variety of buffet breakfasts, friendly staff!

The hotel is located in a beautiful location. The view from the room is gorgeous.
On the plus side: a great buffet, the staff is responsive.
And "not pluses": the price for the room is high, slightly overestimated, the renovation is long-standing and everything in the room is not quite fresh, bathroom and toilet. If it wasn't for the price, then you can safely put 5 stars, as well as 4.

We were in Almaty for the first time. We checked into the hotel "Kazakhstan" and were delighted. Nostalgia since childhood - I remember my grandparents had a lamp in the form of a hotel. The building is Soviet from the outside, but as soon as you cross the threshold, you get into a fairy tale. We were vacationing with my daughter and chose a standard room, but it's more than standard😍
There is a lot to talk about its advantages:
1. Two huge rooms with everything you need: two TVs, 2 double and 1 double beds, a sofa with a coffee table, a tea chest, a chest of drawers, two closets, a hanger, a large bathroom (bath, bidet and bathroom, all bathroom accessories - brushes, gels, shampoos, soap, shaving accessories, hot towel warmer, bathrobes).
2. Air conditioning, refrigerator.
3. Tea accessories: electric kettle, coffee, milk, sugar, black and green tea. Two liter bottles of water.
4. Magnificent view from the windows, beautiful lobby, elevators.
5. The buffet breakfast is gorgeous: for every taste, for diabetics, for those who are on PP, and for lovers of sweets.
6. Friendly staff - guys at the reception: all our wishes are taken into account (early check-in is free), high floor (given 22); maids immediately provided an iron.
WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK TO YOU AGAIN.
