By local standards, the airport is large. If everything is relatively fast upon arrival. Then get ready to stand in the departure area when checking in your luggage and going through passport control! It took us 3 hours together!!! And on my feet all the time! Heavily. Everything is worth it! Including citizens of the European Union.
In general, a good airport, there are no large queues inside, everything is beautiful, but in some places it is very stuffy, and somewhere it is cold because of the air conditioners. There is a CFS.
Duty free is good, but there are practically no waiting places for registration. Therefore, it is important to remember that the business lounges are located in the domestic departures area, which is a 10-minute drive from international flights.
As always, there are a lot of people at the airport and there are almost never any seats, even in the business lounge. In general, an ordinary small airport, with local souvenirs on sale, a small duty free.
The airport is located on a small island, the entire runway is the length of the entire island, you land and get off the plane and are surrounded on all sides by the blue and beautiful Indian Ocean.
The airport is clean enough. But like all airports in recreation areas, it's a complete mess and disorganized during security screening.
It's a big Duty Free, but you can't eat normally: there are only eateries, and there are very few tables.
In general, the Maldives is a good place. The airport is old, small, but in principle everything is tolerable. It's a little stuffy when waiting for the border zone to pass on arrival. In the area in the departure lounge on the top floor, there is a big disadvantage of finding a smoking room, there is not enough ventilation, so the smell of tobacco smoke spreads to the locations of passengers.
A small airport, in shops with local goods prices are higher than in the hotel. There are a couple of coffee shops with snacks and pastries, quite modest. I recommend going to the business lounge. The cost in August 2023 was $35 per person. Comfortable, with TVs, armchairs, computers, a delicious snack and hot dishes, drinks, fruits, sweets (there are few dishes, but everything is delicious). A small children's corner.
A new one will be opened soon, and it will definitely be better, but for now it's small, but everything is done quickly and the staff is always happy to help.
We arrived from St. Petersburg on a business trip to Kaliningrad. We went to have a snack at this restaurant. Rarely, when I liked everything. This is just such a case! Spacious establishment, atmospheric atmosphere, amazing friendly and constructive staff! The food is very tasty. Salad with chicken liver is a tender liver with a light crispy crust and a pleasant dressing. The continental breakfast is very nutritious and varied. Cappuccino is the perfect temperature, it rarely happens (yes, perhaps only when I make my own coffee in a coffee maker). The takeaway was also done very quickly. I hope we will have time to come here for dinner, I want to try something else.
The terminal itself is very dirty, and the atmosphere, to put it mildly, is not what you would expect to see from such an expensive vacation. There's nowhere to eat properly. Everything is decided by the ocean that you see when you exit the terminal)

A normal airport. It was the first time and I thought it was small, but it turned out not at all.
When exiting the airport, there is a separate breath into the business lounge. It's quite decent, big chairs. Very clean. A pleasant area with food and drinks.
As for the main part of the airport, in my opinion it is inconvenient and tedious. Walk constantly like a snake When leaving the airport. There was a moment when I literally felt dizzy from these constant walking along the ropes in a bunch of people.
Otherwise, everything is fine. After passing all the controls, there are good shops, there are cafes, there are a lot of people, but there were places at the tables
A very small airport, with an Asian airport. We were lucky our hotel provided a business lounge, so for us the 5 o'clock wait turned out to be normal. Nearby is the airport of local airlines, even more modest than the international one.
The airport is small, but active construction work is underway to increase it! It should be bigger, more modern and much better soon!!!!! The current one doesn't even have sleeves!
Small, with a huge number of people, without navigation. Try to plan your time so that you can spend as little time as possible here. The company of Hindus, Pakistanis, and Bangladeshis is not very pleasant.
A place where people are happy. Upon arrival, they experience anticipation of the beautiful, upon departure, sadness. The staff helps you get where you need to go, just show your ticket.
The airport is small, cramped, and obviously can't handle the number of tourists. Where to eat - few places, and poor food choices. There are huge queues everywhere, from toilets to check-in counters.
A separate quest that can spoil all your impressions of a vacation in the Maldives). Upon arrival, everything is normal, but the departure leaves much to be desired). One small terminal, where several Boeings from different countries are accepted at the same time, in one queue! You will be standing in ten queues for the entire 2.5 hours! It's amazing that such a rich resort with such a terrible airport is the worst we've ever seen. Another note about the declaration: not all tour operators fully bring tourists up to date. Everyone knows that you need to fill out an electronic declaration at the entrance, but not everyone knows that you also need to fill it out at the exit. Let's say we were not warned, and when we left we were turned around at passport control and had to fill it out again at the airport, which increased queuing). And as we observed, many were also deployed, which means that not all tourists were on course. Be careful and clarify when buying a tour.
I flew with Coral, we met and conducted everything clearly without hesitation. It is important to know that if you go further by seaplane, then the luggage should not exceed 20 kg and hand luggage should not exceed 5 kg. This is very serious. The return flight is also very good, quite a large selection in duty free, but relatively expensive. A very good business lounge.
It's hard to navigate, a very interesting quest, to find your counter, only 6 of the customs posts worked on departure, the queue time was about 30 minutes, we were almost late for the flight
Expensive resorts, magnificent nature on the islands, and the airport is beggarly. When we arrived in the country, I did not even notice the airport, I received my luggage and left on a transfer to another local airport where seaplanes are located, but on the way back home, I felt all the charms of Male airport, check-in takes place in a room similar to the underground parking lot, where there are huge queues at the reception, while there are no air conditioners, some fans are working, which are useless, the heat is terrible, they stood for about an hour.
A very compact and cozy airport, good staff, very thorough inspection, dessert forks and lighters were taken away. There are splits and WiFi everywhere.
In general, it is a good airport, compact, easy to transfer to a boat or seaplane, but cramped, queues for entry and inspection, a shabby waiting room. There are business halls, we did not have time to visit and evaluate, but, given the unsightly nature of the usual hall, it is probably worth going there.
Good prices for cosmetics in dutik.
The lack of any information in Russian. For this 4 stars. Everything else is fine.I would also like the prices to be non-space ATO a cup of coffee 7 bucks
An unexpectedly cool airport. The departure is an excellent duty free for the island state. The business hall is not bad, but the food is not very good. Large food court area. There are always economy queues, but it is not critical. The staff is friendly
In general, it's not a bad airport, but the prices are biting) it's better to take empty water bottles with you and collect water in coolers. They are allowed into the airport itself 3 hours before departure.
It is possible to withdraw currency from several vending machines, upon arrival, take a SIM card at a red kiosk for 40 dollars, do not be fooled by clerks.Only in the communication salon (the Internet will catch in the ocean)Wi-Fi is not stable everywhere.
Not bad, considering that we were met and escorted by the hotel transfer 🤗 For the most part, it's even great, given the service and attention of the staff
The airport urgently needs demolition and rebuilding, which does not meet the expectation of a luxurious holiday in any way. It's crowded, noisy, there's not much space, the lounges are just awful
It's a great airport when it comes to seaplanes. The usual one - there are the necessary number of boutiques. I would especially like to mention the Rituals store - chic cosmetics and aroma.
I will say separately about the hydroport. Parking for 50+ seaplanes. We were from the San Siam network - there is a hall on the 4th floor, you can eat, drink coffee. The views on the balcony are amazing, everything is clear and prompt.
Regional airport. A couple of shops, a couple of eateries. It's quite crowded, but they work smartly. There were no problems. It's convenient that I arrived - and immediately got on the boat) There are no beggars.
The disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning in the waiting room, this is the room where you did not pass the baggage and personal belongings check!! There are fans, but that's not it! But 5 ⭐
It's still a small airport. But everything is well organized. Delivery to planes by buses so far. It looks like a new airport will be launched in the near future and you can get on the plane without going out in the heat.
