An average airport with a significant amount of traffic jams. We drove up to the entrance for more than 15 minutes. In general, the airport is working well, clean toilets, fast check-in, comfortable waiting rooms. Duty free is cheaper than at the Tashkent airport
The airport was very nice and clean, and the queue for checking documents and luggage was long, but it was moving fast. There are sockets under the seats in the waiting room. We took a crowded bus to the plane. To sit on the bus, you need to be a little more efficient and go first to check in))
I came here to visit from the Russian Federation. I understand that this is still another country and it has its own rules, but I was very puzzled by the fact that only people with local mobile operators can use free Wi-Fi. It's terribly inconvenient. Due to the lack of Internet, I could not simply connect the roaming tariff through the operator's application. The woman at the information desk rudely told me this information. In general, be prepared for such difficulties if you do not have a Kazakh sim card. Otherwise, the airport is quite an ordinary place, neat and without any problems or inconveniences.
The airport is a bit cramped for Almaty, especially when Almaty has become a hub in many directions.
There are not enough cafes/restaurants
And the biggest disadvantage in my opinion is that they are not allowed into the business hall without some kind of permanent flyer status.
It's a great airport. Everything is compact and very clear. Thanks to the service staff, for the beauty. The only downside is that I haven't found any designated smoking areas.
I went to the toilet before the checkpoint. Well, it's not even bad. Cleanliness everywhere! This is a life pack with gel, hand washing, dryer and towel without leaving the sink👍 I haven't even seen this in Moscow. It has become easier to go through all customs control procedures. But! As soon as you enter the exit area, there's a herd of rabid taxi drivers, taxi managers, who, out of their simplicity and naivety, or maybe it's more accurate to say, their stupidity, are trying to provide you with transportation services at the price of a taxi in San Francisco))) Well, there's a Yandex.Taxi app! Romale)))
We have entered a completely new terminal. We flew to Moscow. Everything is very fast, clear, and modern. There is a cafe, duty free and even an interactive airport museum! Well done, beautifully done!
The new terminal is bright and comfortable, there are enough places to wait, charge for gadgets, a cafe, which came in handy due to flight delays. I would also like to note the polite staff at the inspection.
The new terminal of Almaty International Airport is gorgeous, very large, spacious and convenient with the largest number of shops, ATMs, exchangers, etc.
Good, but there are few places for those waiting. The halls are good, there is a place to eat and buy souvenirs. On the ground floor there is a budget delicious dining room. The second one has delicious coffee. Clear. There is a mother and child playroom in the international department. Parking is large, but there are not enough places. Sometimes you have to drive a few laps by car until you find a parking space. And in the evening, suspicious people walk around and look into cars.
A new air airport. The atmospheric atmosphere in the waiting room. At passport control, almost all the booths were working, the control was quick. Clean, spacious, lots of places to wait. The parking lot is large enough, the markings are convenient.
Everything is safe in the arrival area, there is very little space in the departure area, few cafes, restaurants, the waiting room is not very cozy, not as clean as we would like. Registration and inspection took place quite quickly.
How good it felt! Passport control, security control is fast and clear without queues both in the departure area and in the arrivals area, I am pleasantly surprised! And upon arrival, the luggage arrived only after 50 🤦♀️ minutes, I almost burst into tears, as everything was well rebuilt everywhere, but the luggage was not solved.
Cute, small, duty free with a good assortment, everything is comfortable enough, you can have a delicious snack, the waiting room is also cozy and convenient, you can pay with either a Unions Pay card or local currency.
After the renovation, the airport has become very convenient and comfortable. There are a lot of check-in counters at the airport, there are no queues at passport control, and the departure area has become spacious and decent.
What an inconvenient and ugly airport in Almaty. Firstly, if you are not driving in, it is inconvenient to pass through, as cars are passing through, we would make a safe path for pedestrians. The entrance to the terminal itself is dark and uncomfortable, and the airport's architecture leaves much to be desired. There aren't enough seats inside, the waiting room is terrible, and if the flight is delayed, you get tired of standing. The port's toilets are terrible, there are no paper towels or hand dryers. In general, it is time to modernize the airport long ago, to increase and hire staff, especially those normal, non-ordinary staff. After all, the airport is the business card of the city.
It's become much cooler! It's a good airport. Lots of space. A decent business lounge. There is a big duty free. The smoking room. There are many cafes and places where you can have a snack!
A clean big airport. The woman at the taxi reception is very responsive, she quickly brought the cars. But I was upset by the art cafe, they only give certain dishes and drinks for a voucher from Air Astana. WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE, WE HAD TO BUY WITH OUR OWN MONEY.SO this is a big minus, and there is no compensation for a late flight!!!
Customs control passed quickly, despite the large number of people.) The "Streams" moved quickly and competently. Bogda had to wait a bit, but the airport itself is spacious and clean))
We waited a very long time for a new terminal, but it turned out to be not very large and there were only 4 baggage belts for arrival.
The airport is not suitable for passengers and tourists without a car. There is no sidewalk for pedestrians. And those who are on a car, there is no Parking, and if by taxi, then there is a long traffic jam at the entrance to the airport. The stop for public transport is very far away. The view of the airport, especially at the old terminal, is depressing - some kind of overlap, exits from the chipboard.
A place where dreams come true, because traveling makes us happier.
Spacious halls, clear signs, clean rooms.
Compared to other airports I've been to, this airport is the best.
I would like to inform you about my 15 years of experience using this airport, hospitably named "euezhai":
In the arrival area of international flights, the queues for passport control are the same as everywhere else, there were a couple of times either the shift was not complete, or it was lazy - not all cabins worked, it stood for a long time. The toilet in the arrival area is clearly lacking in the hands of good plumbers. It's strange, they are in Alma-Ata, I can give you a phone number. After entering the lobby, there is an invariable swarm of annoying taxi drivers, who, in a clear eye, want to entertain the guests of the city in every sense. Next, at the exit of the building, there is a platform finished with good granite and also well-spat on. It can be seen that a fairly large percentage of people who defiantly keep their inner world clean.
Departure area: it's a little cramped in front of the narrow entrance to the check-in area, there was a crowd at the time of departure of several flights, we had to make our way, but it was only a couple of times.
The check-in area is spacious, queues are like everywhere else. Always the efficient work of the staff at check-in.
Passport control: this is the main ambush. God forbid that you lose your migration card or fail to register on time or overstay your stay. There is a lightning reaction to these events, I do not advise you to hope that it will pass. It will not pass - the fact(t)! One thing saves - the east... It's a delicate matter... but that's if you're lucky and you don't get into the bottle.
Everything is normal in the departure waiting area, except for toilets and ventilation. There's smog in the evenings, you know. There are either no filters in the supply installations, or they have been running out for a long time, so it is difficult to breathe especially in winter, even for a healthy person. The smell of superheated soot dust is so-so "smoke of the fatherland". By toilets: there should be more toilets for airport traffic. They also need to be serviced, repaired and all that. And then, by God, the village.
After the airport was divided into international and domestic, there was much more space. The inspection of things takes place without bias on the part of the staff. A new international terminal. Of the disadvantages, the lounge area does not meet expectations, the menu is a minimal set of products that are not the freshest. There are places to sleep, but there are only 4 of them for the entire hall, although the hall is quite spacious. If they increase the service, add more places to relax, and improve the menu, then the room will be very comfortable.
I was pleasantly surprised by Almaty and everything in the city as a whole) an excellent, modern airport, the only thing, minus or plus, there are practically no checks, compared with Moscow 🙈
The first time I was at Almaty airport, I had to fly with a transfer. I expected the best. There is no break room, I had to wait 10 hours between flights. There is nowhere to relax, the seats are uncomfortable, especially in the local terminal. In the international hall, of course, it's new and big. But there were practically no places, there were a lot of people, I barely found a place to sit down. All kinds of rabble are walking around . Some drunk got to the bottom of it, running back and forth. He harassed everyone . As a result, he sat on the escalator railing and fell down from the second floor. It took 20-30 minutes before security or the police arrived. After registration, the waiting was on the ground floor, it was terribly cold there, as the doors were opened endlessly. In short, these hours of waiting were torture . If I'd known the city, maybe I'd have found a hotel, but I wouldn't have risked it. Someone else compares Almaty airport with Istanbul airport. We found something to compare .
One of the worst Airports, everything is expensive, as is customary with us, flight delays, and the absence of a smoking area at the airport itself (before that it was in the building).
The staff is polite.
Waiting rooms, of course Der *so
The waiting time is long (flight delays)
Parking is just terrible, there are always no places
Cleanliness is acceptable.
I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the availability of toilets, THERE are ONLY 4 CABINS, ARE YOU SERIOUS? It's a shame for such an airport... There are 2 booths at the exit of the arrival area, the other two at the end of the building itself... Huge queues due to lack of restrooms
My impressions of this airport are positive. Polite people. They speak, if necessary, in Russian. They help, they prompt. A separate word about the plane. The Airbus was comfortable. With screens at the head of the chairs. Games, movies, music and flight status. Super! The pilot is a pro. It took off and landed smoothly. My ears didn't even pop. Which made the flight even more comfortable
It's a wonderful airport! It is very clear and quick to maintain - passport control is fast, waiting areas are spacious, not crowded. There are sockets for charging.
I passed all the preflight stages pretty quickly. The only thing is that the airport does not yet have a business lounge, but there are good restaurants where you can spend time. There is also a good duty free.
Well, we've been waiting for Almaty International Airport for a long time.
And the conditions are still kazakhmanagement.
During the inspection through the metal detector, a random selection was revealed, good. Then I put on shoe covers, walked around, the tile is cold, it's generally unpleasant if you're an honest person and you didn't find anything. Well, at least they laid a rug, and did not make the rug deteriorate, that is, they do not care about my health.
Why does it cost 3500 tenge to wrap luggage, and 3000 tenge in Astana. We have to be better, it has to be cheaper, or people have mastered the money for construction and are now looking for where to get it from.
Okay, my comments are not so significant, but after all, no one wants to do anything from them, like don't like it, don't use it, on the contrary, they should be happy because so that they can fix it to make the sulfur better, that's how we live
The new terminal is very nice and comfortable. There are a sufficient number of border control booths - there is a fast track. There are many charging places for the phone. I wish there were more chairs.
The international departure hall is small. Of the cafes, only a coffee shop, duty free is also small, alcohol and perfumes are from the assortment. The border guards work very quickly, the queue does not accumulate. It is better not to contact local taxi drivers, the Yandex Taxi application was working for me (18.04-23.04.2024) money was debited from the savings bank card, Russian. If you do not write off, you can choose to pay in cash. There is an exchanger at the airport or a few hundred meters from the arrival terminal, you can ask the driver to stop and exchange money at a more favorable rate.
Excellent work of border guards at passport control: high level of organization, respectful attitude, smart and neat appearance. The airport is clean and spacious.
The entrance to the airport is small, slightly unorganized, and the queue is accumulating. It's very stressful when you're late for a plane. The area near the airport is green and cozy. There are many cars nearby and taxi drivers willing to "help".
Almaty Airport has expanded its international hall. Basically, I liked that all the services worked pretty fast. Perhaps it has become better than before, the same 7-8 years ago.
A compact airport with no frills. The prices for food, drinks, and capsule hotel are quite high. Be careful with the bombs, the prices bite. Also, do not forget to prepare your SIM card for roaming, otherwise you can stay for the first time after arrival without communication, which will not allow you to call Yandex at affordable prices. Yandex pays with Russian cards without any problems.
The location is very convenient! A very large airport! There are many waiting rooms! There is a cafe, which is very convenient for passengers while waiting! Parking is very convenient! Always clean! The staff is working at the highest level! They will always prompt and advise.
It wasn't a big, but it was a very comfortable airport, there wasn't a huge crowd in the waiting room, there were empty seats at tables near the cafe, the security service didn't find fault with anything, I really enjoyed flying to Kazakhstan!
The airport is at the level of an average provincial railway station. There are few places to relax on benches that are not equipped with network access to recharge electronic devices. There is one canteen, and many kiosks, 1 capsule mini-hotel. I traveled in transit, and it was important to rest for half a day somewhere, but in the immediate vicinity of the airport the infrastructure is poorly developed, there are very few hotels and those that are not able to accommodate the available number of guests.
What can I say, the same airport as in the capital, the prices are high, the service wants the best, at least they bought cheap chairs, benches, you have to arrive for the flight two hours before departure, you don't hang around for an hour, you will pass an inspection, there is generally tin, you will wipe all the walls until you get on the plane. If you want to sit down, there is a place, but only in the coffee, but for this you need to buy something, look at the prices and think, I'd rather stand
A compact and cute airport. What I particularly liked was the quiet information at night. everything is clear, there are enough signs, the staff is friendly.
Just a modern airport. It was recently built, so not all shops and catering outlets are open yet. The departure area offers beautiful views of the mountains and the runway. It's nice to have a cup of coffee before the flight.
All for five points. Fresh design solutions, convenient and fast check-in, luggage and rest between flights. It's a bit expensive in a restaurant, just like everywhere else.
There is a large parking lot near the airport. It is clean both on the street and in the building itself. Polite, friendly staff. A small amount of waiting space .
The new airport is immediately visible, at a high level, not very large, but probably enough for Almaty. Everything is clear, clean, and thought out for passengers.
The airport is a place of meetings and breakups. Pros: it is convenient to take a taxi to the second floor, pharmacies and shops are open 24/7, you can also have a snack. Beautiful, clean and spacious. Cons: in the waiting room between.the city before the inspection... There are very few benches and benches.... It is not convenient to wait standing up
personal inspection((((
There are no conditions for accepting a gift to travelers. Having to use a shared toilet is not very convenient. There is no prayer room for women, there is a large flow of Muslims and women have to pray in the passage to the new terminal or vice versa if women are in the room, then men have to wait!!!
