In comparison with Almaty and Astana, of course, it is small and not at all fashionable, but clearly more civilized than the airports of Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Semey.
The airport is international, so direct and transit flights to near and far abroad often fly.

The departure lounge is small, as is the airport itself. Nothing temporary, dirty. And there is also a strange system of passage through customs control. We checked in for the flight, but it was impossible to pass through the customs control zone, we waited until everyone handed over their luggage and then a crowd of some senior in the form of all scarlet on the green corridor) in general, this is the airport in the village, so that it would be more understandable.

A fairly spacious airport (for a regional one). There are not many passengers, everything is pretty neat. There is a shop and a bar in the domestic flight area. In the bar that is closer to the gate, beer is sold at different prices depending on the shift. One shift (two guys) sold me Zhiguli beer for 2,000 tenge, and exactly a week later another shift (a girl) sold it for 1,200 tenge. Since prices are not indicated anywhere, the employees themselves invent prices.

Aktau airport is one of the best in Kazakhstan: a very high-quality runway - when the plane lands, it practically does not shake. The airport building is well thought out and has all the necessary communications. It is very clean, there are all the necessary services and even a pretty nice hotel within walking distance from the airport. The staff is polite and qualified, registration is fast. The situation is somewhat worse with inspection and control: instead of one check, they actually do 4 and it can't help but annoy the traveler. There are a lot of unnecessary and far-fetched things in the process.

At the check-in desks, it feels like you are in Soviet times, since you are not a citizen of Kazakhstan and the service will be slow, they will be reluctant to answer questions, behave arrogantly. If you are thinking of buying something in the inspection area, without duty, the choice is not great, there are practically no three racks with alcohol, cosmetics or chocolate.
