The airport is small. You can only sit to a clean area in a cafe or on the street (in good weather, it is very pleasant to sit outside). Other than that, there are only a few seats inside the building.
Registration started with us about 2 hours in advance. And they were allowed into the clean zone only when everyone was registered. In general, it is not critical. It's just a little weird.
The lounge is in a clean area, small but comfortable by the standards of large airports. There are duty-free shops and vending machines with coffee and chocolates.
A big plus is the walking distance to the bus station and to Tivat itself.
We have never spent money on a taxi. You can get to any city in Montenegro from the Tivat bus station. Well, or almost to anyone.
A small airport, friendly border guards, parking, rental, the city are all within walking distance. Pleasant memories of a trip to the Balkans. We'll come back again
You can make a candy bar from this small airport.
But..... Every season there is a total collapse! To visit this airport during the season is like visiting hell. Crowds, people, it's not clear where to go, the heat, lack of staff and so on every single year. At the same time, it is not a surprise to anyone in the country that in the season from May to October, a large number of tourists arrive in the country. It would seem that let's think about how to do it better, but why? And so they will come.
In the off-season, the airport is gorgeous!
A small, clean airport. Friendly staff. There are outdoor cafes, paid Parking. The disadvantage is that the entrance and exit from the airport is very inconvenient, there are always traffic jams.
The "Gate of the Adriatic" is the main air gate of resort Montenegro, very similar to small regional airports in Russia. The main load during the holiday season, a one-story building, closes at night, if I remember correctly, from 20:00 to 06:00 (there are no night flights), basic navigation, all services cope with flight maintenance (4 more flights took off with us in the interval of one hour). The only runway ends 88 meters from the shore of the Bay of Kotor, where you can watch the takeoff and landing of aircraft (see photos and videos). Passengers board the plane on foot. I will put 4 because such a small airport can be maintained in a more presentable form.
A small, cozy airport. There is a duty-free lounge, but I didn't see much point in buying something there, everything was cheaper in the nearest store. We walked from the plane to the terminal and back, apparently there was a problem with buses))) There are waiting chairs, I did not notice a heavy workload. Getting to Budva is not difficult, you can rent a car.
The old terminal is enough for the winter, but in the summer it is necessary to open a second one.The exit from the parking lot is packed in the summer, you can do one or two more. The staff is correct and moderately friendly. The gift shop is quite worthy. The kafana at the entrance is expensive, but it is everywhere (take Istanbul). Overall, a decent airport
In the summer season from June to August, it is better not to fly from here. It's still okay to fly in: I went out and left. But with the departure and the lack of organization of the process for a huge number of departures in a small airport, you can forget about comfort and a quiet departure. The nervous attraction and the anxiety of "I'll be in time, I won't be in time" are provided for you. Moreover, in September, the picture is completely different, everything is more comfortable and light.
A very small provincial airport. Registration takes a long time, but it is not critical. Parking near the airport is cheap. And so everything is super))
This is an airfield, not an airport... However, there is a duty free... The air conditioners can't cope, the toilets can't cope, the cafe can't cope.. A huge plus is the location, the beauty is not real - the Bay of Kotor! There is a similar airfield in Podgorica. To help tourists, there is an opportunity to rent a car without a credit card! RenoRent ... 60 euros per day ;)
The airport is very small. If everything is not so bad with the arrival yet. Then the departure in the season is a complete disaster. The check-in and passport control area is simply not physically ready to accept such a large number of passengers. If there are several flights, you simply cannot enter the building. Queues at passport control for up to an hour. Keep this in mind when planning your arrival at the airport. A new terminal is urgently needed.
The color is not forgotten, always on foot from the plane to the airport and back, cheap car parking, inspections are carried out with preferences, they probe the elastic band in the underwear, ask where the money was hidden, they took smears for explosives twice, as a rule 1 terminal works, luggage is given out quickly, if not lost during connections in Belgrade or Istanbul, taxis are expensive.
Since 2000, almost nothing has changed, in the summer there is a huge flow of people, the airport cannot cope: there are crowds of people in the halls (there are two of them), many are sitting outside, because the air conditioners cannot cope. You're sitting outside in 40 degree heat, and the heat is still from the asphalt. The toilets are dirty.
It is better to arrive at the end of check-in, because there is simply nowhere to wait for the flight, go fly through Podgorica.
The only advantage is that it is close to Budva and other resorts, relative to Podgorica.
It is also worth considering that the airport does not work after sunset, so if the plane from the previous flight is delayed, there is a chance that you will be redirected to Podgorica.
A very small room, where registration and passport control, car rental and a ticket office are concentrated on an area of a couple of hundred meters. In the wild heat, the air conditioning in the airport premises practically did not work. I gave two stars for the fact that the employees work fast enough.
Separately, about taxi drivers - I've seen this for twenty years.... We asked the owner of the apartment how much a taxi to Tivat costs approximately-she said around 20 euros or slightly higher. The taxi driver asked for 40 euros, to which we referred to the locals, and offered 25 euros (after all, the way is only a few km), in response, obscene language rushed to me, which did not need to be translated, and a message saying that he needed to earn money for the holiday season from people like me…As a result, we rented a car, by the way, the average rental cost per day is 50 euros, so in fact the taxi driver himself went on an erotic walking trip😀
Cons:
The toilet smells like smoking! There aren't even any buses. It was so stuffy when boarding, I almost felt sick.
Positive:
But there are signs when renting a car.
Large parking area
Mark:round 3 .
P.S.: it is unclear why such a high rating
I would describe this airport as "imagine an airport in a God-forsaken Russian city"
But if you go into details, there is barely enough space for 2 flights before customs and one after customs. As in the whole of Montenegro, they work in the styles of razdolbako. The assortment of shops and vending machines is weak.
Most of all, I disliked walking to my plane along the noisy engines, from which even the most brutal men closed their ears in panic
It was very small, and there was NO ONE there at 6 a.m.
It's like everything is extinct.
There's almost nowhere to sit.
But there are big advantages. They work fast, the staff is friendly.
I have never seen such an outrage anywhere! A very small and, it seems, the only waiting room before boarding. What kind of duty-free service is there? There are two vending machines: one for selling chips and something else incomprehensible for a snack, and the second for selling drinks, BUT it was empty and did not work. I don't know how many flights there are at this airport per day, but the number of passengers from our flight filled this entire waiting room. That's probably why they quickly put us in the cabin of the plane to make room, then for the passengers of the next flight. And then we sat on the plane for more than two hours and flew for almost five more hours. And apart from water, nothing was offered. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!
It is small, uncomfortable, nothing is really debugged, the business lounge in the departure area seems to be made for laughter. The only good thing about it is the place where it stands
I love these rustic airports, no stress. I went in, stood in line for baggage check-in, wanted to get out. The airport is tiny, you walk to the plane on foot.
A small airport for such resorts, but compact, without excess. There are cafes, toilets. Dutik, of course, is not big either) We walked to the plane on foot, you can say a kind of exclusive, where else will you walk to the plane)
A small cozy airport with a small number of flights. There are two grocery stores. Check-in was quick, 7 windows worked for 1 flight. The staff is friendly.
Adequate staff, there are translators, everything is intuitively clear , there were no problems with the flight. It is well located , besides all this , You can easily go anywhere in the country !
A small but convenient airport. The baggage pick-up and pick-up desks fully ensure that passengers are dispatched without hustle and queues. The infrastructure provides for both arriving and departing passengers. The staff is polite. Many people speak Russian. There is a place to have a snack, inexpensive and delicious. Border control and customs without quibbles. Accepts and sends flights to many countries, both to Europe and Asia.
A collective farm, a lot of people, everything is not organized. Passport control on arrival and departure is sooooo long. major repairs and expansion are needed.
A tiny airport. There are a lot of people, there is nowhere to sit. Waiting for boarding, you stand like on a crowded bus. There is no service. Unfortunately, there is no alternative, I had to endure.
A small airport, it is very unusual that you walk from the plane and to mamolet)) but there is something in it. The airport staff is friendly. Respect to the guys!
It is very small, there is no business lounge if there are many flights to the airport without even going in. There is only one cafe, expensive, their food is only terrible sandwiches.
Little. I have to queue in several places. 1. Registration takes 40 minutes, then inspection takes 40 minutes and passport control takes 40 minutes. The waiting room is very small, there is no cafe. Only the Dutch fries, but also small. Boarding a plane on foot))
Top airport except that there is no smoking room in the waiting area
Therefore, do not pass the control quickly
There is literally an airport 2 by 2 meters
Hang out at a cafe nearby
A normal airport
Of course it's stuffy in the heat
The toilets are not very clean and you can smoke in them - this is a minus
dutifrey is very strange
, they let several people in
If there are flight delays, then people are literally sitting on top of each other near the gates
The last time, a young border guard openly mocked me - he tried to prove to me that I was in the country illegally, claimed that I would have problems. Then he got tired of it and stamped it.
Aren't you too awesome there, friends? My family and I regularly leave a huge amount of money in the country, we have learned the language, we have come here many times, and still the locals believe that they have the right to humiliate guests. The airport looks like a barn, that's a fact.
It is very miniature, but there were no delays in departure, there were no problems, check-in for the Montenegro flight is only offline, unfortunately, therefore it is better to arrive in advance, they can allow if it is very hot, take water with you through an X-ray of course, in general everything is friendly
I didn't like it, we arrived in the summer of 2024. There is no drinking water, air conditioners cooling only themselves, while I was there, the girl fainted while in line waiting for passport control. It's cramped, one room for everything. There was no water even in the Duty Free.We drank water from the washbasin in the toilet. I did not expect such "comfort".
A good place to fly in and out of Montenegro. The cafe has been updated. The service is fast. The toilets are clean. After passing through the control area, the waiting room is cramped. Therefore, if possible, after registration, it is better to go to the boarding area immediately before boarding. The business area (it's hard to call it a hall) has its own WiFi, coffee, water, bottled wine, windbreakers. 12-15 seats. (Ordinary chairs), there are three bar tables, sockets for charging (own wires)
A small airport with one cafe in the building and a duty-free shop, there are also several car rental points. But everything works clearly and clearly. Large paid parking nearby.
An ordinary provincial airport)
There is not enough space, there are queues in the season.
Parking is paid)
There are few seats in the waiting room) it is better not to come in advance
You will not find sockets or +/- service)
But this does not make the airport worse) it is ordinary.
To the plane on the ground legs. If it rains, then keep in mind)
A small airport, unfortunately one cafe without the opportunity to eat (only frozen pizza), so if the flight delay is long, which I had to face, be prepared that you will have nothing to do, there is absolutely nowhere to sit in the airport building before passport control
It's a horror, not an international airport! As there was a small provincial Yugoslav airport, so it remains! Both in size and in the organization of all processes! Everything is cramped, disorganized, in a queue! And this despite the fact that there were only two flights! I didn't like it very much!
It's a horror, a kilometer at the entrance at the control with one customs officer, and a kilometer of people on departure with one customs officer.Flawed Duty, and dirty toilets- wellcom to Montenegro / EU
The airport is tiny, but the staff is friendly. The minus is the horse prices in the duty-free crumb. It is easier to buy in advance than to overpay there at exorbitant prices.
On foot from the plane and to it. The terminals are tiny. Do not enter the cafe on departure. Queues for passport control, which, as for me, is purely formal
The airport has improved, there are more check-in counters, which is very nice. The sterile area has also become more spacious. I was told that there are plans for further expansion. God willing!
In general, it's not bad, but it's too small, people are accumulating and it turns out to be a crowd with queues. In winter it's still nothing, in summer it's cool. There is nowhere to eat, only water in the vending machine for euros. The dutik is quite small and expensive, of course
The airport is like a bus station in my grandfather's village. 1 cafe, with expensive coffee, duty free-some kind of narrow corridor a meter wide. There is a terrible crush at check-in, queues, people do not fit. The toilets are dirty.
