The Novotel Almaty City Center left mixed impressions. On the one hand, the location is excellent — in the city center, there are many cafes and shops nearby. The rooms are clean and functional, but the design is pretty standard, nothing special. The breakfasts are not bad, but the choice could have been more. The staff is polite, but sometimes slow to respond to requests. There is a swimming pool and a fitness room, but they are small, and it can be crowded during rush hours. In general, the hotel is suitable for a short stay, but for a longer stay, there may be more interesting options.

Everyone who writes that the quadrature of the room is disappointing, the quadrature is in the public domain, it's not something secret. The room was big enough for the two of us, of course, if there were more people, it would be a little cramped. But we must remember that this is not a family hotel format.

Pros: clean and bright rooms, good view of the square and the skating rink (it was in winter). There is also freshly squeezed juice at breakfast (a juicer was installed).

An excellent inexpensive hotel in the city center. Downstairs is the Line Brew restaurant, within walking distance of the shopping center, cinema. I was here in November 2024 - the prices are reasonable, the room is clean and decent.

We stayed for 2 nights in a standard room. The room is clean, stylish, and the furniture is new. The only thing in the bathroom is a door without a lock and a shower without a door (therefore, splashes fall a little on the floor, but not critically). There was unlimited water, but the carafe needed to be filled in a cooler in the hallway, which didn't bother me at all.
The sound insulation is average - we heard the door close in the next room quite strongly.
I really enjoyed the breakfasts. It is delicious and varied: eggs, cottage cheese, meat and cheese cuts, pastries, herbs, pickles, fruits, porridges, stewed vegetables and meat. Tea, juices, coffee, fresh oranges and apples.

I only meet with their helpfulness, kindness, attention, and quick response to any request. Very tasty and varied cuisine. I am ready to list all the waiters, because in communication from everyone I received attention to any request, starting with the selection of dishes from the menu and ending with the cleaning of dishes from the table.

This hotel definitely does not pull in a room for $ 300 per night. The level of three stars, for space money for its location and room category.
The service is lame so much that the housekeeping does not think to remove the food ordered in the room. She was taken out of the corridor only a day later!!! The sink drain did not work. A flower vase was brought a meter high, plastic, in which flowers are still placed in flower shops. The bouquet had to be put in a water carafe 😒
But the most striking moment of the poor service was that complimentary bottled water was supplied only once during all the days of stay! The rest of the time, it is suggested to use a cooler in the CORRIDOR, let me remind you, for $ 300 per day)

We visited Almaty in February 2024, stayed at this hotel for 5 days.The advantages are the excellent location and delicious breakfasts.Unfortunately, there are more disadvantages, although the concept of the hotel itself and the hotel itself are good!The staff- when you are at the hotel, they almost never greet you, even if you greeted them,(staff training suffers),drinking water in the rooms- there are carafes and you have to draw water from the cooler, which is located in the corridor, but I have a question- does anyone follow how these carafes are washed???If the decanters are in this condition, I'm not sure that the coolers are properly cleaned and processed during! And this is the source of infection! Therefore, many hotel guests bought bottled water. Room cleaning - is there any control on the part of the hotel staff (senior managers), how the room is prepared for the arrival of the guest and how the current cleaning is carried out? I think not!This also applies to bed linen! We went into the room - there was a torn duvet cover, linen is changed every three days - they changed it for us, but there were torn pillowcases!I am very much in favor of ’their concept of a ’green" hotel, but... not to the same extent! In the shower, the shampoo and gel provided by the hotel are attached with special fasteners, and there is no shelf at all, and I can't use these accessories because of allergies, I use my own, but where should I put them? I think they have guests who find it inconvenient too! At breakfast (especially from 8-9.00 in the morning), there are not enough tables, yes- it's rush hour and many people come there for work, but we need to think about this issue.
The hotel manager must work out these issues, conduct staff training, or change the manager!You just need to monitor the quality of the services provided by the hotel.

There was only one drawback, not far from the hotel there is a stage where some musical events were held and the music was very loud. A wonderful hotel, the city center - Dostyk street, near the Abai metro station, buses, very friendly staff, ready to help with any question and satisfy any request (we bought hockey tickets through the reception), delicious and varied breakfast, comfortable rooms, a large swimming pool. Upon check-in, you are given a voucher for one free cocktail at the bar and a 30% voucher for the cable car. I recommend it!

A good hotel in the city center next to the ski lift on Kok-You. For early check-in, subject to room availability, they charge almost as much as per day. For late check-out as well. The room cleaning is very mediocre. Water bottles are not provided. There is a cooler in the hallway and glasses in the room. But hardly anyone is responsible for the cleanliness of the cooler. When trying to boil water in a kettle, I was horrified by what was inside the kettle. Dirt, rust, lack of mesh in the spout. After the call at the reception, the kettle was washed.
The room service works well. Food is brought to the room quickly.
A huge plus of the hotel is breakfast with a wide variety of dishes, including meat, fish, soup, porridge, fruits, vegetables, pastries, you can make yourself freshly squeezed juice.
The hotel also has a swimming pool (small) and a spa. I couldn't go there, because I had a terrible headache all day. There is no doctor in the hotel, they can only call an ambulance. There is a blood pressure monitor, but it is in the spa area. The spa is open until 23.00. When we tried to ask for a blood pressure monitor around 12 a.m., we received a response from one manager at the reception that the spa was already closed. And after 15 minutes, another manager got a blood pressure monitor. So in case of something, you need to be more resilient.

I really liked the hotel! Convenient location, near the cable car, metro, historical museum. The staff is polite and attentive. Another trump card of the hotel is breakfast! Such a variety and so delicious! There is a spa - Finnish sauna, swimming pool, massage. Taxi service at any time of the day takes two to three minutes. I often stay in the Novotel hotel chain. And I like everything: the service, the cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the mattress and pillows.
