Nice, clean, easy to navigate train station. Working stuff are helpful. Easy to get in and get out.
Afrasiyab fast trains are comfortable and fast and cheap. I fully recommend it. It is safe.
The only worst thing is that the smell at the train (Afrasiyab) toilets. It is disqusting. Hope they will find a way to figure it out.

A big beautiful city. Developed infrastructure. Lots of attractions. You can take a guide and see everything in 1 day. Or you can stretch the pleasure for several days. If you love history in a comfortable environment, then you should go to Samarkand. Be sure to go to the city park. Surprisingly, there are many buildings of the late 19th century in the Russian style among the Muslim city. Pleasant, good-natured, cultured people.

I really liked the city - colorful, interesting, beautiful, with a rich history. Absolutely friendly people - in the hotel, in the cafe, and taxi drivers - who asked for advice / help, helped us everywhere! There are a lot of Russian speakers, so it will be comfortable even without knowing English. We were in the city for two full days, according to tradition, one more was not enough)))

We visited Uzbekistan in early March 2025. We visited 3 cities Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand. So, I was most impressed with Samarkand, clean, beautiful, kind of modern, but at the same time there is so much ancient architecture that has been preserved perfectly, the people are generally friendly, I really liked it, I recommend 100%%%
