Это действительно хороший музей с богатой экспозицией с древнейших времен по наши дни. Если вы даже всего на пару дней в Астане, стоит выделить несколько часов на посещение музея, чтобы познакомиться с казахской культурой. В моем случае был грамотный и любознательный экскурсовод и рассказывал очень интересно. It's a really good museum with a rich exhibition which covers ages from ancient up to nowadays. Even if you stay in Astana only a couple of days, it's worthwhile to set a few hours aside for visiting this museum in order to touch Kazakh culture. When I did so, I was lead by well-educated tourguide. He was a person is interested in this field and spoke in fascinating way.

Beautiful museum interior and ell presented historical information in English. Very good to learn about Kazakhstan from past to present.
However, definitely a hit and miss with the staff working here.
Some staff was helpful, but I cannot say that about the lady working on 5th floor last Saturday.
When I went up to the fifth floor and I showed my ticket, she said no entry.
(first of all, when I bought my ticket, nobody explained which exhibitions I can enter and not enter, that is why I am trying all of them.)
So she just said “no” and ignored me, acting like I am a nuisance.
I asked “OK I can buy ticket?”
She said ‘no’.
I said “Where do I buy the ticket?”
She said she doesn’t speak English. Then she ignored me and turned to talk with other guests who spoke Russian.
Staff should be trained to be able to respond to such questions because it is really unfortunate when they are behaving rudely.
When you are working in the biggest National Museum in the capital of a country that receives tourists—
How is it not possible to understand a question about “buying ticket?”
It is possible for staff to find someone that can translate, or using Google translate instead of just behaving poorly to the visitor.
That is not the way you get more tourism by being unhelpful.

I recently visited the National Museum of Astana and was amazed by what I saw! The exposition is so rich and diverse that it is difficult to cover everything at once. I was particularly impressed by the archaeological finds telling about the ancient history of Kazakhstan. The Scythians' gold jewelry is simply mesmerizing! No less interesting are the exhibits dedicated to ethnography and contemporary art. The museum is very modern and interactive, which makes visiting even more exciting. I recommend that anyone interested in history and culture visit this place. I plan to come back here again to study some of the expositions in more detail. This is a real treasure trove of knowledge!

A very large, modern and interesting museum complex. There are 4 floors with different contents, you can find expositions to your taste and explore them in full. Of course, it is more interesting with an excursion, but there is also something to explore on your own. We spent more than 3 hours to briefly explore the museum. I definitely advise you to visit for the guests of Kazakhstan.

The building is magnificent, impressive, although it seems small from a distance! The location is convenient, parking and bus stops are close. The exhibits are interesting, and world masterpieces are often exhibited. There are many historical and archaeological artifacts. I did not like the fact that the samples of national clothes worn on mannequins do not look very similar, or rather, they do not look at all like Kazakhs. This greatly affects the perception of the beauty of our clothes, the national flavor is lost. Does no one notice this?! I'm just ashamed of the work of our cultural figures or cultural figures!

The only thing is that the museum is very large and sometimes it seems empty. Maybe it's worth it. Place small exhibitions in the halls between the expositions - children's drawings, works by novice artists, modern folk crafts.

It's just lucky that we were advised to visit everything here - from the hall with dinosaurs to the galleries of modern art in Kazakhstan is just great!!!! And the golden halls are generally incomparable. Both comfort and escalators. It is a pity that there is no good cafe and the souvenir shop is too small. Everything else is great!

The museum is impressive! Several floors, it is difficult to get around in a day. The ancient history of the people, photo materials, text and interactive accompaniment, artifacts (found during the excavation of mounds, bones of fossil animals. A hall dedicated to the life of the ancient inhabitants and their leaders. The Hall of Soviet Theory. The Hall of modern History of the country. A hall with photographs by a French journalist dedicated to Kazakhstan and many more things. In the basement there is a bathroom, an exhibition of folk art, where you can buy souvenirs. On the ground floor there is a cafe and a small buffet-dining room (they cook delicious). I definitely recommend it!

Excellent modern exposition, but a complete lack of navigation and a confusing system of stairs, elevators and escalators :(
I usually go down from the upper floors of the museum, found the elevator with difficulty, went up and found emptiness and darkness on the upper floors. There are even no signs that exhibitions are not being held on this floor now.
On the second floor, it turned out that some of the halls can only be accessed from the ground floor. I had to go through what I had already seen back, go down to the first one, go up to the cherished halls and go out again through the halls I had already passed twice:(

A gorgeous museum! Beautiful, modern, large-scale! I took a guided tour, it takes about 45 minutes, I learned a lot of useful information, I recommend going with a guide, and then walking around the rest of the halls on my own. The museum has 7 floors in total, but 2 did not work. In general, we walked quietly for 2 hours: 45 guided tours and a little more than an hour by ourselves.
The tour takes you through the Paleontology Hall and the Golden Hall - be sure to buy a ticket there, impressive expositions of gold and ancient people in costumes.
Be sure to visit the Astana hall - there is a light and music show at a certain time (we got there at 15.00). Interesting! I've never seen anything like it!
I liked the halls of modern art, there are not a lot of works, but they are unusual.
