It's a really good museum with a rich exhibition which covers ages from ancient up to nowadays. Even if you stay in Astana only a couple of days, it's worthwhile to set a few hours aside for visiting this museum in order to touch Kazakh culture. When I did so, I was lead by well-educated tourguide. He was a person is interested in this field and spoke in fascinating way.
Beautiful museum interior and ell presented historical information in English. Very good to learn about Kazakhstan from past to present.
However, definitely a hit and miss with the staff working here.
Some staff was helpful, but I cannot say that about the lady working on 5th floor last Saturday.
When I went up to the fifth floor and I showed my ticket, she said no entry.
(first of all, when I bought my ticket, nobody explained which exhibitions I can enter and not enter, that is why I am trying all of them.)
So she just said “no” and ignored me, acting like I am a nuisance.
I asked “OK I can buy ticket?”
She said ‘no’.
I said “Where do I buy the ticket?”
She said she doesn’t speak English. Then she ignored me and turned to talk with other guests who spoke Russian.
Staff should be trained to be able to respond to such questions because it is really unfortunate when they are behaving rudely.
When you are working in the biggest National Museum in the capital of a country that receives tourists—
How is it not possible to understand a question about “buying ticket?”
It is possible for staff to find someone that can translate, or using Google translate instead of just behaving poorly to the visitor.
That is not the way you get more tourism by being unhelpful.
I recently visited the National Museum of Astana and was amazed by what I saw! The exposition is so rich and diverse that it is difficult to cover everything at once. I was particularly impressed by the archaeological finds telling about the ancient history of Kazakhstan. The Scythians' gold jewelry is simply mesmerizing! No less interesting are the exhibits dedicated to ethnography and contemporary art. The museum is very modern and interactive, which makes visiting even more exciting. I recommend that anyone interested in history and culture visit this place. I plan to come back here again to study some of the expositions in more detail. This is a real treasure trove of knowledge!
The museum is modern, beautiful, with interesting exhibits! Here you can see unique artifacts, immerse yourself in the history and culture of different eras. The atmosphere of the museum inspires and makes you think about the past and the future. The museum staff is always ready to share their knowledge and answer visitors' questions. I recommend visiting this museum to anyone interested in art and history!
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a real treasure trove of history, culture and art! Visiting this museum left me with a lot of vivid impressions and a deep sense of pride in the rich heritage of Kazakhstan.
The museum impresses with its scale and modern approach to exhibitions. The architecture of the building is impressive at first glance, and inside it is a harmonious combination of tradition and innovation. The space is organized very thoughtfully, all the exhibits are presented in a fascinating and accessible way.
The halls dedicated to the history of Kazakhstan, from ancient times to modern times, were particularly impressive. Unique artifacts, reconstructions, interactive elements — all this allows you to immerse yourself in the past and feel connected with the great history of the Kazakh people. The hall of gold products is a separate miracle that cannot be described in words, you need to see it with your own eyes!
I would also like to mention the halls of ethnography and modern art, which reveal the versatility of Kazakhstan's culture. The guides are very professional and enthusiastic, and their stories make visiting the museum even more interesting and informative.
A very large, modern and interesting museum complex. There are 4 floors with different contents, you can find expositions to your taste and explore them in full. Of course, it is more interesting with an excursion, but there is also something to explore on your own. We spent more than 3 hours to briefly explore the museum. I definitely advise you to visit for the guests of Kazakhstan.
The building is magnificent, impressive, although it seems small from a distance! The location is convenient, parking and bus stops are close. The exhibits are interesting, and world masterpieces are often exhibited. There are many historical and archaeological artifacts. I did not like the fact that the samples of national clothes worn on mannequins do not look very similar, or rather, they do not look at all like Kazakhs. This greatly affects the perception of the beauty of our clothes, the national flavor is lost. Does no one notice this?! I'm just ashamed of the work of our cultural figures or cultural figures!
A very versatile museum, I especially recommend the first floors - until the end of the Middle Ages. Separately, it is worth mentioning the halls of gold, a very interesting exhibition and many gorgeous exhibits. And yet, from the steps of the museum there is a magnificent view of the city's attractions!
A very interesting museum. The scale and scope are felt. There are many installations, reconstructions and national colors. You can buy souvenirs in the store, the prices are very affordable
I recommend you to visit.
A wonderful museum! It is very large, there are many halls, a lot of expositions. The entrance to the museum is very cheap, so I recommend that you definitely go to the National Museum in Astana to get to know the history of Kazakhstan better!
It is very interesting and informative! The museum is beautiful, large, and modern. This is one of the places in Astana that you should definitely visit. I liked everything, the tour made a vivid impression! I recommend.
In the National Museum of Kazakhstan in Astana, you can see archaeological artifacts, a collection of gold products, ethnographic objects of Kazakh culture, modern art and historical expositions reflecting the country's path from antiquity to independence.
In the middle of the summer of 2024, I was with my family in Astana, they decided to introduce the children to the sights, on the third day of arrival I thought about it and decided to take the children to the National Museum, they didn't regret it at all, the children liked it, there is something to see (in general, the goal was to show the Golden Man, but as it turned out, it was very interestingly, I didn't expect it myself and we didn't regret it at all, the halls with paintings are a separate topic, we just ran through them, and you can walk for hours.
A huge and very interesting museum with a lot of really informative exhibits. In one of the halls there is a skeleton of a tyrannosaurus and several other species of dinosaurs.
This museum houses the famous golden warrior. A must-visit!
A good exposition about the history of Kazakhstan and the Turkic peoples in general. All historical epochs are represented. The only thing is that the museum is very large and sometimes it seems empty. Maybe it's worth it. Place small exhibitions in the halls between the expositions - children's drawings, works by novice artists, modern folk crafts.
It's just lucky that we were advised to visit everything here - from the hall with dinosaurs to the galleries of modern art in Kazakhstan is just great!!!! And the golden halls are generally incomparable. Both comfort and escalators. It is a pity that there is no good cafe and the souvenir shop is too small. Everything else is great!
There are a lot of expositions, different halls for different times, it was very interesting to get to know the history better!
Special attention should be paid to the halls with recreated streets and archaeological excavations!
A must-visit place for all guests of the capital, as well as local residents. All floors and exhibitions are well-chosen. There is a shop with pleasant prices. I recommend it to tourists.
I really liked the museum.
Everything is very aesthetically pleasing, modern, and national ornaments are well integrated into the interior design.
I was impressed by the dinosaur exhibit.
An excellent museum where guests of Astana can learn about the history of Kazakhstan, many interesting and original exhibits, and a good collection of paintings. I recommend you to visit.
A huge, beautiful, interesting museum. Brand new (it's a pity there are no audio guides yet). 7 floors of history and beautiful exhibits. If you want to quickly learn about the Republic of Kazakhstan, its traditions, history, etc., I sincerely recommend going.
In short, I write according to the prompts
Impressions:I'm not a very emotional person, but the big eagle or whoever is hanging there surprised me (probably surprised how it was placed)
Expositions: imba, there is a lot of historical stuff in short, and there are even departments with this
Exhibition:I went to the exhibition of the painting with my mother, what can I say, of course everything is classified there, you can't take pictures (well, logically, this is the original painting), but inside the room where the painting was there were very steep walls, it seemed as if everything was moving (though the head was spinning kick-ass)
Staff:I don't know what to say, well, you can say they are kind, I didn't pay attention to the staff, like I just give or take a ticket and that's it
Excursions:I don't know, I was with my mother without a guide, we just decided where to go and that's it
Sightseeing tours:yes xs finally
Well, there are still hints, but they are not being flipped
Guys, the museum itself is beautifully built on the outside, and inside, all the exhibits are really very beautiful
If you are a tourist, then I advise you, and I advise everyone
An interesting, beautiful museum in the city center. It tells a story, and there are also halls dedicated to culture, everyday life, and fine arts. It's worth a visit.
A very impressive museum, modern, technological and interesting! All visitors to this museum can discover a lot of new things, the exhibition halls are conveniently located to concentrate on the most striking and interesting objects! Come and you won't be bored here!
The museum is impressive! Several floors, it is difficult to get around in a day. The ancient history of the people, photo materials, text and interactive accompaniment, artifacts (found during the excavation of mounds, bones of fossil animals. A hall dedicated to the life of the ancient inhabitants and their leaders. The Hall of Soviet Theory. The Hall of modern History of the country. A hall with photographs by a French journalist dedicated to Kazakhstan and many more things. In the basement there is a bathroom, an exhibition of folk art, where you can buy souvenirs. On the ground floor there is a cafe and a small buffet-dining room (they cook delicious). I definitely recommend it!
A rich collection of exhibits, modern, technically equipped halls. Great stories from the guides. Even if you visit alone or in a small company, be sure to take a guided tour. I guarantee you won't regret it. It will be informative and interesting. Museum exhibits illustrate different periods of Kazakhstan's formation. So, everything is bright, colorful, "alive" and real. Thanks to the keepers, archaeologists, restorers and decorators for their great work!
I really liked it, especially the halls of antiquity, the exposition of religious attributes, altars, amulets, gold jewelry, ancient weapons. I think it's worth visiting, it will be interesting for children and useful for expanding their horizons.
I am very pleased with the visit. Colorfully, different periods of the life of the territory of Kazakhstan are covered. Unforgettable paleontological department, golden! The art is good, the paintings are impressive!
An impressive museum where you can look at all the epochs of the history of Kazakhstan at once. From the most ancient times to the present day. You can easily spend almost the whole day here, looking at the exhibits. You can refresh yourself in a cafe and buy souvenirs without leaving the museum.
A beautiful place, the exhibition is large, the interior is a modern museum. I recommend anyone who comes to Kazakhstan. the staff is kind and friendly. Come on, you'll like it as much as I do.✅
We've been here twice on guided tours with elementary grades. Beautiful building, polite staff, lots of historical exhibits. It was very interesting for the children!
An interesting museum, a modern and beautiful building, a large exposition, but of course it is better to visit with an excursion to get to know the history of Kazakhstan better. There is also a very impressive area in front of the museum, there is a place to walk.
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the main cultural institutions of the country. The museum has a rich collection of exhibits telling about the history, culture and nature of Kazakhstan. The museum's exposition includes unique artifacts such as ancient tools, household items, national costumes and much more.
The museum also hosts various educational programs and activities for children and adults. Here you can attend lectures, workshops, exhibitions and film screenings.
An important advantage of the museum is its convenient location in the city center and the availability of parking for visitors.
The museum staff is always ready to help visitors and answer their questions.
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a place that is definitely worth visiting to learn more about the culture and history of Kazakhstan.
I liked the museum, you can take a walk and see interesting exhibits. There are problems navigating the museum, you can walk in circles. The exhibits are interesting and beautiful. I advise you to visit.
The best place in the museum is on the 7th floor. I definitely recommend watching the exhibition "the appearance of a spiritual substance".
And so there is nothing to do in the museum, there is a very large space, there are not many exhibits. The most striking thing that I remember besides the 7th floor is the exhibition of things by the Kazakh artist Dimash. Because there were a lot of people and paparazzi
We visited the national museum, I recommend everyone to visit: high-quality exhibits, affordable prices, large territory, thematically divided by floors, by milestones in history. It is interesting for all children and adults! The guides are Russian-English-Kazakh speaking. The Golden Halls left amazing impressions.
The location is good - in the city center. I was there in winter, at minus thirty and the wind was 25 meters per second, so it was very useful, I warmed up. I love history, in particular, the history of an entire country, an entire nation. Very interesting! Thanks!
Excellent modern exposition, but a complete lack of navigation and a confusing system of stairs, elevators and escalators :(
I usually go down from the upper floors of the museum, found the elevator with difficulty, went up and found emptiness and darkness on the upper floors. There are even no signs that exhibitions are not being held on this floor now.
On the second floor, it turned out that some of the halls can only be accessed from the ground floor. I had to go through what I had already seen back, go down to the first one, go up to the cherished halls and go out again through the halls I had already passed twice:(
The museum is good, but the guide is very weak. They need to learn from guides in the regions. Their eyes are burning, they tell stories so fascinatingly that even children are interested. And here it is very tedious and just to do your job quickly.
A gorgeous museum! Beautiful, modern, large-scale! I took a guided tour, it takes about 45 minutes, I learned a lot of useful information, I recommend going with a guide, and then walking around the rest of the halls on my own. The museum has 7 floors in total, but 2 did not work. In general, we walked quietly for 2 hours: 45 guided tours and a little more than an hour by ourselves.
The tour takes you through the Paleontology Hall and the Golden Hall - be sure to buy a ticket there, impressive expositions of gold and ancient people in costumes.
Be sure to visit the Astana hall - there is a light and music show at a certain time (we got there at 15.00). Interesting! I've never seen anything like it!
I liked the halls of modern art, there are not a lot of works, but they are unusual.
Overall, the impressions were positive
Everything is very beautiful
On a large scale
Majestic
But somehow it feels empty and sucked out of your finger
There are almost no explanatory signs
The history of Kazakhstan is all mixed up with all countries in some way
It's also very cold in the room.
We visited the museum in the fall of 2024, an excellent modern, technological museum.
I liked the opportunity to use the free audio guide from my personal phone, via QR code + WiFi
A good museum, of course, if compared with the Mongolian one, the location of the exhibits is more convenient there, the movement pattern through the halls is clearer, and there is much more information.
In general, I really liked the exposition of gold miners, the hall of dinosaurs, and national clothes. I recommend you to visit. The 7th floor of the temporary art hall is so-so, about nothing, small. The art gallery is gorgeous.
The cost of an adult ticket is 1700 tenge, a child is 600₽

It's a funny museum, but it's fashionable to learn interesting things. There are paintings, folk art, and antiquities. It is definitely fashionable to visit once, but no more
