The airport is very big and clueless. There are many exits and passages. There can be a very serious and long check of hand luggage. Therefore, calculate the time. You need to be on the spot at least 3 hours in advance. Registration is only via vending machines or electronically. And if you are not friends with technology, then you will stand with a ticket. And no one needs you. People are running around and begging in all languages of the world to help them find their way out. Now imagine a group of Russian tourists who can't check in for a flight, don't understand where the flight is, and generally don't understand a lot of things. I must say that there is more attention and help for groups. They even opened a manual registration for us. And we were saved))). Yes! And the exit after arrival is strange. It seemed that they were going to the exit from the airport, but they came to check the luggage for departing passengers. So the airport is not for weaklings. Otherwise, everything is as usual-nice shops and friendly people around.
A great hub, without fuss, with easy navigation and sky express between terminals. The staff is well-trained and conscientious. Duty free as luck would have it, there are several of them and they are objectively of different sizes, so if there is little time for a transfer, you may not find what you want in accessibility.
A large hub, everything is there, very convenient connection between terminals. There are large hotels in the terminals, where it is convenient to stay during a transfer or to meet with colleagues from different countries.
A modern airport with convenient internal and external logistics. From the city center by S-bahn in 20-25 minutes! Fast passport control is not the same as in Munich. I was pleased that tax-free works late and their office is conveniently located.
It's a good airport. Easy navigation, clean toilets. A good selection of German wine in Duty Free.
But, the airport is too big, you have to walk a lot, or even run.
Plan more time for transit flights.
You may not be able to make it to your gate.
We were at Frankfurt airport for the first time and were very satisfied. A large selection of Duty Free and convenient waiting rooms. You can contact the airport staff with a question that interests you and they will be happy to help you, and if necessary, they will show you what and where it is.
This is a big airport, to put it mildly! And all the inconveniences that I have encountered are related only to this. After landing, the plane rolls around the taxiways for quite a long time. And when he gets to the end of the runway, but a couple more planes land on the same runway from behind! Considering the scale, everything in it is quite competently organized
The work of the staff is very well organized. Transit transfers are at a high level. It's terrible how bad it is in Vienna! Do not fly through Vienna. On March 8, 10 people were 3-5 minutes late for the transfer... And I had to travel by rail to Salzburg with an infant and a six-year-old child! But the staff at Vienna airport is indifferent to the suffering of human passengers! We will not forget this nightmare for a long time!
One of the best airports. I liked everything:cleanliness, convenience for passengers, the entire infrastructure, free Wi-Fi, food, ease of orientation, the ability to separate the flows of passengers.
If we compare, the departure area of Frankfurt Terminal 2 is small and inconvenient, much worse than our Sheremetyevo Terminal D. Registration opens in 2.5 hours, 2 people work. After that, run to passport control, it's fast enough. Then, 50 minutes before departure, one person begins to re-check all documents and the weight /size of hand luggage. As a result, the departure was delayed by 20 minutes.
The airport is good, but the airport staff does not know the international rules for transit between countries. They are sent to the airline to solve problems and they don't care about passengers. The attitude of the staff has never been worse.
Large and comfortable. From the plane (LH) to ice via the "border" and baggage collection in 20 minutes, with two children. The waiting rooms are very comfortable, there are a huge number of places where you can recharge 220, including usb.
Long passport control, they check visas very closely and cling to any occasion. The airport itself is large, but the navigation is good, everything is clear. The center of Frankfruit is easily and quickly accessible by express train.
I was surprised that there weren't many people! There are several terminals, a bus runs from one to the other. There are many places to relax, there are sockets and so on. One of the disadvantages is that they do not announce flight information. If the flight is delayed, then you need to go to the information desk and find out the changes yourself (about the exit number, for example).
Nothing unusual in terms of design, but functional. Being inside, it is impossible to believe that this is one of the busiest airports in Europe. It is better to buy duty free right away because as you pass the barriers, there is less and less choice.
A good airport with a very logical device.
The truth is quite large, as a result, sometimes it takes a very long time to walk from one terminal to another. In case of a short transfer, you may not be able to make it.
A very huge airport! It should be borne in mind that sometimes you have to get to the terminal for more than half an hour :) Sometimes you have to walk for a very long time :) But you can lose weight :)
Very carefully! It's as big as a city. Long queues for security checks and passport checks. Don't come all the way. The inspections are quite thorough. There are smoking rooms inside.
Strong Russophobia. One can see how favorably they treat Arabs, various migrants, and rudely and insolently towards Russian speakers. Every third of the staff knows Russian, many speak Russian fluently, but categorically refuse to speak it. They can easily open your luggage, even if you are just in transit. If your plane has changed the departure gate, do not expect to be notified about it, unless the airline sends you an email notification (this is when you sit in front of an empty gate for half an hour and wonder where to board!)
A huge hub airport, you can get there by taxi, buses and railway transport. If you are traveling for the first time, arrive in advance to sort out the terminals where you will fly from.
The VIP lounge is located all the way to the security area. You have to get off it half an hour before the flight in order to pass quietly. There is also an extremely long passport control for non-EU citizens, only 1.5 employees (1 works, the second looks and distracts the first).
I didn't really like that there were huge queues at the control
5 times you need to pass the control to get to the Gate, although it moves quickly, it takes about an hour,
the border guards are not very friendly, otherwise everything is as usual, it's better in Moscow
We drove along the airfield for almost 20 minutes after landing. Then we spent almost 40 minutes at passport control: three flights arrived on huge planes, and either one customs window was open, or two. Then, however, they opened more, but the sediment remained.
