That looks like the entire city, well structured, all services work properly. Customs, security and the police are welcoming and they all know at least 4 languages ☺️ Bank staff at the airport also.
The airport is nice! Terminals are quite clean inside, but the only inconvenience is how to move from one to another with luggage. The stuff is quite polite and kind
Amazing airport, with great services and great restaurants!

Overall is good, hard to understand where to buy sweets, wine, but manageable
Bottle of water is twice expensive comparing to Ireland
Choice of bottled wine is awesome
If you do not know how to buy a card from the machine you are unable to use airport coach to the city center, nobody advertise it - here is the trick:
1. Change money first before going out of the building
2. Go out and on your left you would see a ticket machine - buy a card first.
3. Than you upload monies to the card - this travel ticket is ok to use through out the whole city, bus or metro doesn't matter at all
You can upload money to the card when you buying it,in one action, but it didn't work out for me
Good luck
Great city though
A very, very modern, clear and comfortable airport. Firstly, it is hospitable, everything is for the traveler: clean, cool, clear signs, smoking area. There are plenty of places for comfortable waiting in the halls. There are places where you can charge your phone, but with your own cord.
The transit check is fast.
Secondly, it is very stylish and beautiful, in soothing tones, there are no loud noises or extraneous noise.
Further: and what is very important, cafes and shops accept currencies: dollars and euros, but most likely the change will be given in local money, manats. Russian cards are not accepted! Stock up on cash, you can exchange rubles and other "marketable" money at the exchange office.
The overall impression of the airport is 10 out of 5).
I really liked the airport. Stylish and comfortable. Quick check-in and security clearance, I met polite staff. Free internet, easy to connect. Cozy shops. The sellers were polite, it was a pleasure to shop. The hall is open, comfortable wide non-plastic seats with charging points. Cleanliness and order. Toilets are cleaned regularly, everything is thought out - from automatically opening doors to comfortable sinks - water does not splash around.
I also didn't disappoint the Lounge key. The food is really not hot, you need to reheat it in the microwave, but everyone will find something to eat. Tea/coffee/desserts are delicious. The seats are comfortable. A small disadvantage is the long wait for entry.
A very modern, comfortable and convenient airport, which left a pleasant impression.
Pros:
✔️ Spacious, clean and stylish terminals.
✔️ Quick check-through and passport control.
✔️ Comfortable waiting rooms, including business lounges.
✔️ Variety of shops and restaurants.
✔️ Good navigation – it's easy to find the right outlet or service.
✔️ Transport accessibility: convenient connection to the city.
Cons:
Prices in cafes and shops are above average.
Sometimes there are queues for registration and control, especially during rush hours.
Conclusion: One of the best airports in the region, with modern design and high-quality service. A great place to comfortably wait for a flight!
The Heydar Aliyev Airport in Baku left a very pleasant impression! The modern and spacious terminal with a unique design immediately creates a comfortable atmosphere. Inside, everything is thought out to the smallest detail: comfortable waiting areas, cleanliness, many shops and cafes where you can have a snack or buy souvenirs.
I was particularly pleased with the service: the staff is polite and always ready to help, whether it's questions about luggage or navigation tips. The entire registration and inspection process is fast and organized. There is also an excellent infrastructure for transit passengers — you can relax in comfortable lounge areas.
The Heydar Aliyev Airport is not just a transport hub, but a place that reflects the spirit of modern Baku and Azerbaijan. I recommend it to everyone who travels through this airport!
The airport is large and bright, spacious, there is no crowd, everything is organized somehow, it was convenient for me. Near the exit to the city there is an exchanger, the exchange rate is average, they changed it on the way out too. The business room made me laugh, one of the others was working on repairs: small, cramped, some remnants of furniture were collected from everywhere, sofas were sagged and shabby, the choice of dishes was poor, everything was cold - they heated themselves in a mikrukh, they poured cheap wine, there was a coffee machine, the first course was the same and also they heated themselves. The only pleasant thing was the treatment of the staff - friendly, polite, the vegetables were cut beautifully. Business halls are a problem everywhere, they have turned into canteens. There is another business lounge only for those who bought a plane ticket to a business-the conditions are much more decent in it, but I haven't seen any dishes.
I often fly and consider Baku Airport to be one of the most beautiful and convenient airports. As they say ...Chic glitter beauty! Clean, tidy, and sparsely populated.
The staff, starting from the entrance to the building, baggage acceptance, document verification, as well as the departure desk, are always in shape, always attentive, do not fuss, tell me, they will show. In general, flying is a pleasure. The conditions of UTair are upsetting. It's getting worse every time. The flight was delayed by 5 hours, and the company didn't even take care of its passengers.. I didn't feed her, I didn't get her drunk
The airport is small but beautiful. Large parking area. Unusual taxis are a type of vintage English cars. There are various shops, cafes, duty-free, a room for smokers. They didn't refuse an analgesic pill at the medical center, my head hurt! I gave it a score of 4 due to the small number of check-in counters! Long queues. Also, one inspection tape was working at the entrance, the second one for some reason did not work. A queue was also forming. The overall impression is good.
A wonderful airport. It is very convenient here, and everything is for people! Beautiful architecture, spaciousness and comfort at the same time. Clear.
The greeters can comfortably spend time at the tables and watch the arrivals. It seems so simple - a balcony, armchairs and tables, and so soulful! You can wait for the flight in cozy chairs at the cafe, and other islands. Dytik is sad and small, the cafe is not much (but it is delicious in them). In general, a very pleasant experience of the air harbor!
We visited this airport during the AzalAir flight.
I left only positive emotions.
The international terminal is new and very beautiful both outside and inside.
The airport is very convenient. There is all the navigation that allows you to navigate. We were like transit passengers, and we went through all the procedures without any difficulty. So, on a second visit, we left the sterile zone, visited Baku and flew out of this airport the next day.
Also, the whole procedure of customs inspection and admission was a success.
There are plenty of places to relax, and very comfortable ones. There is a place to eat. Smokers have a nice room equipped with tables and excellent ventilation. All the logistics are clear even to a foreign tourist.
We put a five in the general airport of Baku named after Heydar Aliyev.
Thanks for the reception.
The airport is very pleasant, stylish, with a soft carpet everywhere. There is free Wi-Fi at the airport, for which I thank you very much. It is possible to use e-tickets. At the airport, you can have a little snack while waiting for the plane. We were at the Costa coffee shop, everyone is decent, they know Russian well. You can buy Azerbaijani halva at a price almost like in Baku itself, there is not much difference. We took it to the right of the duty free exit. There is also a department in the duty free itself, but it is more expensive, although there is a beautiful package there.
It's a very cool airport, there's a lot to do in the transit area. Everything is comfortable, soft sofas, armchairs and places for charging gadgets. The children's room and library are also, of course, Duty Free. Cafes and restaurants are also top..... If there is a long wait between flights, you can spend it comfortably. Previously, there were capsules for relaxation, now they have been replaced with lounge chairs - this is very convenient.
Excellent airport, spacious, comfortable. The queue for passport control was fast, many booths were working, an employee "regulated" the flows.
When leaving several exchange points, the exchange rate is quite acceptable, although slightly lower than in the city. It makes sense to change a little to buy a Baku card for transfer to the hotel. The terminal is on the right right at the exit from the airport building. Opposite there is a bus stop that takes you to the center, to the metro station "May 28".
The impressions of the Heydar Aliyev Airport were extremely positive!
A gorgeous airport
Excellent roads at the entrance
Shuttle buses to the city center
Everything is fast inside
Registration
Customs baggage check
Yes, there are minor flaws related to the mentality, but in general. An excellent airport is competently built and competently operated
There is a lot of space and good ventilation
Charging in the chairs
Carpets on the floor, children play on them
Very simple and convenient navigation
High-quality clean toilets
Stylish interior decoration with a national flavor
If they had also bred local taxi drivers, it would have been great
A modern airport. Very stylish and comfortable. It was nice to just walk around and see the unique design of this "space" building!
I think this airport is a landmark of Baku.
We quickly passed registration and inspection. The staff is friendly and kind! Yes, they are kind, which is rare for staff of this level.
A modern airport with an interesting design . The airport is equipped with modern waiting rooms with unusual domes, similar to yurts. Everything is clean and tidy. The staff speaks both Azerbaijani and Russian. There is a taxi stand in front of the airport (local eggplants) and a large shuttle bus to the city that departs every 20 minutes. Travel can be paid with a Baki-card, which can be purchased at a kiosk machine.
An unusual airport. Modern. The service is good, but there are not many registration windows. And the prices are much higher than at Moscow airports. Even in business halls. In Moscow, one pass costs 2000-2500, but here it costs 5000. In Moscow, you can register and hand over things in advance, 3 hours in advance, but not here. If you arrived earlier, sit and wait... I am completing the review. We were in Baku for the second time, we arrived at the airport in advance, there is nowhere to sit at all, there are no chairs before check-in! There's nowhere to get up, it's terrible! Everyone with suitcases crowded at the entrance and stood for hours waiting for registration to begin! Now I would have put 3*....
A large, beautiful, clean airport. I liked the fact that there are fountains (cooler) on the territory of the airport with drinking water, they take care of passengers, because some people wait a long time for a transfer, they always want to drink. They do not try to profit from people, as in other airports - water is only for a lot of money.
The floors are covered with carpet, you can take off your shoes and your feet will not be cold. Free internet, lots of outlets for charging phones. The duty free and cafes accept different currencies, including the Russian ruble. In a word, everything is fine! There is a sense of caring for people.
The local airline of Azerbaijan is also remarkable. A full lunch or dinner that includes a hot dish, salad, bun, butter, cheese, dessert, tea, coffee, water, juice, even wine and cognac. I was pleasantly surprised. It's been a long time since airlines have fed economy class passengers like this.
Baku - 10 points!
One of the most convenient airports. The area is small, but everything is very thoughtful. There are fountains with drinking water. I like the store with Azerbaijani goods. But the service on the transfer is long. Employees are in no hurry, talking to each other, not paying attention to the queue
A huge modern airport. Stylish. Very convenient. Free wifi by default without registration. Upholstered chairs and sofas are everywhere. There are fountains with drinking water. Food in the cafe at reasonable prices. We were worried about how our overnight transfer would go, but in vain. Everything went the best way
Compact, bright airport, duty-free with a good assortment and reasonable prices. We had a good coffee in a nice coffee shop. There is no language barrier, all employees speak Russian perfectly, Clear navigation. I had a great experience
A beautiful modern airport, built in the middle of the "tenths" and maintained in perfect condition,
Spacious, bright, very clean everywhere.
There are many shops and cafes.
It is very pleasant to spend time before departure.
Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport Terminal 1. Terminal for departure outside Azerbaijan. An ordinary modern airport. Without any special features. Fast passage of all necessary formalities, including border and customs control. As for the exchange rate at the airport, it is not profitable at all, so change everything in the city. The prices in duty free are simply off the scale. I do not recommend buying anything there. Try to buy everything you need in the city, where prices are two or even three times lower. At the airport, shopkeepers don't know how to cash in on passengers. There seemed to be some tension with the cleanliness of the toilets. The only significant positive aspects are free wi-fi without registration. So use it. Take the Aeroexpress train to the city. Taxi drivers charge a high price. At a real cost of 15-20 manats, they ask for 30-40. So go for manat 30 gapiks by bus and you will be happy. The cost of a plastic Baku card is two manats. So you will get to the city 10 times cheaper! Do not overpay! The comfort level on the bus is no worse than the air conditioning, comfortable chairs and few people.
I was in transit here. A very beautiful waiting room, lots of seating. There are also places where you can lie down. The toilets are clean, there are fountains with drinking water.
I saw 3 vending machines with food (with horse prices) and one vending machine with medicines.
There is a currency exchanger where, at a more or less normal exchange rate, you can exchange rubles for manats to buy something. The cafe is quite expensive, as in general at all airports. 0.2 ml coffee 3 manats (150 rubles), croissant 8 manats (450 rubles), khachapuri 6 manats (300 rubles). There are also some employees in the cafe who pretend that they do not understand Russian (although it is clear from their faces that they understand everything perfectly).
Also, among the disadvantages, I want to note that there are only 3 small departure boards for the entire waiting room, which are located far from the seats. There is practically no flight informant. Only late passengers are announced.
It is a very beautiful building inside and out. Everything is fine. Fast service, courteous staff. The only negative is the atomic price tag for groceries in the stall shops in the airport building. For example, the price for a cup of coffee is 10 manats. It is very expensive, especially since coffee does not have a special taste. Now, if coffee tasted like in the city of Baku itself, then it would be another matter. And so I really liked the city itself, and the people, and the airport.)))
It is very clean, especially important in the toilet! Drinking water fountains! Comfortable and clean waiting rooms. There is a very good selection of food and drinks in the VIP lounge with premium service from banks. Polite airport staff, speak Russian very well! Thanks!!!
A large, beautiful, modern airport with all the infrastructure, parking access roads, you pass control quickly and smoothly inside, the staff is kind and courteous, All structures work super...
Everything is on the level👍👍👍
Clean, comfortable, modern, stylish, everything is new, courteous staff, most importantly the absence of long queues upon arrival and check-in.
I didn't notice any disadvantages.
I really liked the brand new airport. It is multifunctional for the traveler, convenient and accessible information boards. Upon arrival, you can call a taxi through the Yango app and you can get to the center in just 9 manats. In other applications, it is significantly more expensive. The staff speaks Russian, which is also convenient. There are places to perform prayer, but I did not like the ablution room, it is quite uncomfortable and in my opinion it has not been cleaned, but maybe this was an isolated case. There are McDonald's and KFC for a snack, local chains are too expensive for me. According to dutifrey, as for perfume, everything is fine, but the prices for clothes and shoes are simply cosmic. I think that shops in different price segments are needed in such places. Someone wears Zegna, and someone prefers adidas. The first ones have sneakers for 700,000 rubles, but it will not be possible to take others for 15,000, since they simply are not there.
I travel a lot due to my work, and I was very impressed with this airport. Beautiful designer renovation, comfortable waiting area, friendly staff, prompt check-in, cozy cafes and locations.
A spacious airport, many seats for waiting for a flight, an accessible information base, prices in duty-free are four times more expensive than in city stores for the same goods, I advise you to buy goods such as sweets, tea, fruits in advance if you do not want to overpay.
It's officially the most aesthetically pleasing airport I've ever seen! Well, everything is too beautiful, clean and comfortable. 🥹 I hope there will be more places for shopping and more restaurants, but visually it's a delight. 💔 And I was really pleased with the service everywhere, so I'm pleasantly surprised!
A great airport for connecting flights, I discovered it when flying to London and recommend it to everyone.
Small, technological, clean, everything is fast, without delays and problems. Gorgeous
A beautiful modern airport. Inspection, registration, and customs control are carried out quickly. The airport halls are clean. It takes 35-40 minutes to get from the city center by taxi. We flew out of Terminal 2. The business lounge is small, but equipped with all the necessary minimum set.
I was on a business trip in March 2024. I liked the airport. Beautiful view of the main terminal for international flights. Modern design, spacious building as if airy, lots of light, convenient location of shops and airport services. There was no separate baggage drop-off check-in on the Aeroflot flight, as in the SRM upon departure. I brought 2,500 thousand bucks, since there was no card. I read on the Internet that it is necessary to declare in any way. I went to their office, where they file declarations - it's a mess, no one can explain anything, one person works, there are a lot of people. He returned to the hall and approached the senior customs officer on duty, asked if it was necessary to file a declaration. He replied to me that up to 10 thousand dollars is not required. I was satisfied with this answer. Russian and English are hardly spoken.
