A beautiful new spacious airport with a small number of passengers. There is a free business lounge for Visa premium card holders. There are many shops with souvenirs and branded items, nuts, coffee and cosmetics. The transit capacity is high (there was a transfer of 2.5 hours, of which I had at least 2 hours of free time). You can't take photos in the security area, they monitor this and demand to show your phone with photos. And I also managed to buy an Emirates flag at the airport, which is sewn to a backpack (in Dubai, there are none in DXB, only they are sold in the city).

I really liked Abu Dhabi Airport! It's huge, modern, and well-organized. There is everything you need for a comfortable waiting: lots of shops, cafes, comfortable recreation areas. I was especially pleased with the availability of free drinking water – a small thing, but very nice! You can also charge your phone or laptop without any problems, and fast free Internet makes your time at the airport even more comfortable. A great place to transfer and wait for a flight!

In the Pearl Lounge (business lounge), if you are sent to a more distant room with snacks and sweets, go to the main room and get yourself a hot meal and hot water for tea, hot coffee - since there is no hot food in the snack room, but coffee and tea are cold.
The toilets at the airport are comfortable, clean, and touch-controlled. There are toilets in the halls at the gates, where they are taken before the flight, too, but there are often queues in them, so I advise you to go to the toilet in advance.

However, during rush hour and during transit flights, the airport can be quite crowded, which sometimes creates inconveniences when moving. Prices for food and drinks at the airport can be high, and the cost of goods in stores often exceeds their price outside the airport. Access and navigation may also be difficult in some areas.

We had a connecting flight with a difference of 10 hours, we managed to take a nap on the deck chairs. The toilets are clean, with a hygienic shower. There are a lot of toilets, there are no queues. What I especially liked: the presence of taps with a sink next to the toilet. Just refresh yourself or get some water - drinking water. There are plenty of duty-free shops. Sweet tooth will be in paradise. Prices are in dirhams and dollars. To be paid: cards and cash. If cash is accepted and dollars are accepted, the change will be given in dirhams. Inside the airport, taxi. Cafes: Turkish, Indian, Arabic, European. You can go to the city if time permits.
Among the disadvantages are weak charging panels for gadgets. I can't explain why.
In general, the airport is clean, bright, excellent ventilation, comfortable.

Departure is a quest. But not because of the airport's own services (everything is normal there, biometrics access, etc.), but because of the organization of the Etihad Airways airline. We didn't expect such a trick from this airline. We have registered online. We arrived on time. We got in line for check-in (the luggage had to be checked in) and... an employee of the company came and persuaded us not to stand in a long (it's true) queue, because there are self registration counters. They believed me. I shouldn't have. Self-check-in was possible for every 5 (if not less), regardless of the flight and the passenger's "home port". Help from one "helper" (his prototype was first shown in a cartoon about Cheburashka - a kitten with the phrase "Do you need help?", which then rode on a log = less than zero sense). The rest of the airline's staff were proudly sitting at the counter, turning the tables on the only field player. The result is obvious. The loss of 20 minutes of time at the non-working terminal and in the queue at the human counters. There, though not quickly, they managed to check in their luggage.
The icing on the Etihad Airways "cake" was that they boarded the plane not through the "pipe", but by bus.
Tip: do not listen to the "assistants", get in line with people to register, arrive earlier.
I repeat, the airport itself is good.

Each gate has a separate room with waiting areas, a place to charge gadgets and a separate toilet. The gate opens half an hour before departure, it is fenced with glass and you do not cross paths with other passengers at all. There are separate glass cabins with good ventilation and ashtrays for smokers, located in different parts of the airport. There are travelators everywhere for comfortable travel with luggage. The staff is very helpful. The prices are really on the level. Two cappuccinos cost 1,500 rubles) We visited on the way.

I take off the star for the inconvenience of checking in for a flight. I.e., for example, I flew with Arabia Airlines to Moscow, and passengers of this airline had check-in for all flights to India, Moscow, Egypt, etc. It's not convenient and it takes a long time. There were about 80 people in front of us. Therefore, I recommend taking this fact into account and arriving in advance.
