The 3rd and last monument in Regestan area. It is different in many ways. Inside is magical. There are sales shops inside that sales artifacts. Definately do not miss this place.
Together with the Ulugh Beg and Tilya Kori madrassas, it forms the monumental ensemble of Registan, the ancient heart of the city. The building is considered one of the main tourist attractions in Samarkand and is known for its profuse tile decoration and polychrome plant-themed paintings.
Sherdor Madrasah is one of the greatest buildings in Samarkand, which completes the ensemble of Registan Square. Built in the XVII century, it is famous for its unique architecture and magnificent mosaics with images of tigers. Located in the very center of the city, the madrasah is not only a historical monument, but also an important cultural site that attracts tourists from all over the world.
Sherdor, with its tall towers and magnificent facade, is an example of the skill of oriental architects and artisans. The courtyard of the madrasah, surrounded by arches and carved stone ornaments, immerses in the atmosphere of antiquity and scholarship. Here you can see not only architectural elements, but also symbols reflecting the spiritual and cultural values of that time.

Second (average) according to the age of the madrasah on Registan Square. Unfortunately, the khanaka, which was built by Ulugbek, was dismantled for its construction. Perhaps because of the dilapidation, but then no one thought about restoration. It was built in the "Kosh" reception, i.e. the portal is strictly symmetrical to the Ulugbek madrasah. Ulugbek madrasah was inferior in prestige, despite its large size, no more than 40 people studied. Teaching was discontinued in the 1920s on the instructions of the Soviet government.
It doesn't matter that many things have not been preserved to this day in their original form. Admiring the greatness of the past is also a story. Just my own.
A beautiful old building with amazing mosaics. In the evenings there is a light and music show, there is Wi-Fi. It is very beautiful and you can take beautiful photos from the observation deck.
A stunning complex that is illuminated in a different color every evening. If you're lucky, you might see a light-sound show. It is shown on national holidays or by order of groups.
A very beautiful square. Clean, green. And the light show in the evenings is generally impressive! I was in Samarkand for work, I rented an apartment near the square - it was nice to walk in the evenings
Part of the Registan complex. My favorite part. More beautiful, more complete.
Be sure to enter the courtyard. No decoration is repeated, it is very interesting to walk, look at and enjoy the beauty
Beautiful, authentic, rich history, incredible majolica patterns, magical ornaments and wall paintings. In the evening, there is a special feeling of the Arabian night from the tales about Aladdin.
Registon is a very beautiful place Clean in beautiful sights and come see sucked out with your own eyes As soon as you arrive you will be delighted with Samarkand come friends as soon as possible
An ancient square with modern restoration, in a single architectural style with other objects of the square, we have never seen such buildings, towers and squares - it seems that you get into a fairy tale and you are transported back many, many millennia, in the evening with your magic illuminated! Thanks for some elements of the museum, where you can learn more about the history of the square and see photos,
Registan is the heart of Samarkand..... There are: Sherdor, Tillakori and Ulugbek Madrassas... The ancient historical city of Samarkand !!!
The Sherdor Madrasah was built then by the hakim of the city of Samarkand, Bahadir Yalangtush...
We were very impressed after visiting the Madrasah. In ancient times, people managed not only to survive in a hot climate, but also to comprehend science and study.
We were struck by very low doors. So the people were small in stature. And the exhibition features large wax figures of tall stature. There is a discrepancy somewhere...
The business card of the whole of Uzbekistan is a collection of 3 madrasahs. This place is worth visiting at least once, preferably with a guide who will reveal the historical value of these structures.
What to write about Samarkand. What does Comrade Yandex want to hear from me?? Samarkand is also Samarkand in Africa. You can skip Sochi, but you can't skip Samarkand and Batumi
Like other similar buildings , they were viewed with their mouths open and taking pictures without stopping ! Samarkand is magnificent! It's beautiful both day and night, I didn't want to leave!
The entrance is expensive for foreigners. You can take a guide inside, I recommend it. It seems to me that it is pointless to pay so much for admission without a guide. And it is not expensive compared to the cost of entry, it will tell you everything, I liked it.
Another madrasah on Registan Square. built in 1636. Tigers are depicted on the portal of the madrasah, although in Islam it is forbidden to post images of people and animals.
