Shymkent is a magnificent ski resort in Almaty, offering a variety of trails for skiers and snowboarders of all levels of training. The resort has modern ski lifts and excellent infrastructure.
Positive:
- A wide selection of trails for different levels.
- Modern and comfortable lifts.
- Magnificent views of the mountains.
- A variety of activities, including sledding and hiking.
- Excellent restaurants and cafes.
- Easy accessibility thanks to the funicular from Medeo.
Minuses:
- There can be a lot of people in peak season.
- Prices may be above average.
In general, Shymkent is an ideal place for active recreation and enjoying nature at any time of the year.

How can you come, If you are by car and do not want to spend a lot of effort, then I suggest you go up through the Cossack.You can get to Kazachka by passing the eco-post in Dulati Avenue.after passing the eco-post, immediately turn left, then take the main road to the barrier.After dismounting, we climb to the KJ, the route is almost boring, but not heavy, there are many benches along the way.

- 5 gazebos, BI group is ashamed of you! Gazebos need at least 30-40
- one swing is a shame!
- there are very few benches!!!
- there are no garbage collectors, because there is a check-in on this plateau from the side of Kazachka, because it is already possible to make garbage containers here, tourists have to drag garbage down!!! And already those who do not shine with reason throw off the garbage at the nearest Christmas Trees.
The result, alas, the Ministry of Sports and Tourism again did not have the intelligence and honesty to do everything wisely so that everyone would be comfortable!!! I'm sure even in this seemingly ordinary business a lot of money was misused

A great place for a walk in the mountains. The path from the Enlightener is noticeable - you won't get lost, there are a lot of people on weekends. Many have tents - there is a lot of room for overnight stays upstairs, there is a waterfall and a spring.
All descriptions indicate that the trail is easy (even children and pensioners walk), but I barely climbed with my sedentary lifestyle, I thought I would die along the way. So if you don't go to the mountains often, it's a very good option to overcome yourself.

An interesting trail to the plateau. In itself, this place is the first camp for recreation and radial exits to the peaks and long-distance routes.
Positive:
- beautiful views
- communication with interesting people (crowded is also a minus)
- proximity to the city
Minuses:
- it's very crowded! Coincidentally, we were on the weekend, just crowds of people
- there is trash on the trail, people, please take the trash with you!
- the heat is very difficult in the heat, the water on the trail is only at the very beginning and then there is a waterfall at the top.

We climbed to the highest altitude. There's a swing for a photo shoot. It's hard to walk about 6 km. It's bad that it's not illuminated. Once, the family wanted to stay in a tent for the night. But then they changed their minds because it started to rain and wind heavily and I was afraid that suddenly it was not safe in the tent and they began to descend. Slippery grass, dark, hummocks. It's hard with small children. As it is, nothing special. Just for your health, you can go.

They trampled all the grass, made a wish with garbage all around. Unfortunately, now this place is not as attractive as it used to be.

The place is amazing, the views are just magical. But the route is quite difficult, both for us and for our 7-year-old son. The route starts with fairly steep steps, the length of the route is 5 km in one direction. There are places to relax along the way. For those who like hiking, that's what you need. We started from the prosvyashenits sanatorium, which can be reached from the city by taxi.

One of the most beautiful places in Almaty. You can climb from the Medeo (Ak-Bulak point) in 1.5 hours at an average pace. Along the way, you will have a wonderful view of the mountains and the city. And after climbing to the plateau, it will be difficult to look away. Next, go down the slope from the side of the Remizovka. The descent time is 1 hour.

A popular place for a day trip or camping in the mountains. The most optimal route is to enter from the Medeo side, climb to the plateau, and then descend into the Kazachka gorge. The ascent is simple, the climb is small, the plateau itself is somewhere at the level of 1750m, no special preparation is needed. The place is beautiful, during the ascent (if you go from the Medeo side) there are beautiful views of Almaty and the peaks. If you are not a climber, but you want to go to the mountains - feel free to come here, you will like it.
