A beautiful fortress with a large territory, different terraces. It's great to walk and admire the city. There are additional small museums and attractions, however, all for an additional fee. There is also a dinosaur park on site, but you can admire Dinos for free from the bridge.
One big disadvantage is the filthiness. These ancient walls don't deserve to serve as a dumpster and ashtray, but the townspeople and visitors are clearly not inclined to show respect, alas.
If you try not to pay attention to the garbage, then the place is beautiful.
A large beautiful park from the embankments of two rivers and up! A fortress and a church, an open-air museum of military equipment, playgrounds for watching the sunset over the Danube, a souvenir shop, many bike paths, benches - a wonderful place for walking! There are a lot of families with children on weekends - playgrounds are filled with laughter, a very pleasant impression. If you go down to the embankment, there are many delicious restaurants with high ratings and a varied selection of dishes. I strongly advise you to spend your time there with pleasure and without haste) Thank you.
A landmark place in the history of Belgrade. A huge park combining recreation areas, observation decks, and purely historical sites. Beautiful views. It has a centuries-old history.
An impregnable fortress in the past, and today a city park. The sculpture is new here and there with ancient foundations and road loops along steep terrain. Beauty! Inspired by the views and scale of the place. The monuments are well maintained. The territory is not well maintained. But this could not spoil the beginning of the capital's walk, and it will be remembered for a long time! Our walk through Beograd!
Kalemegdan.
Judging by the archaeological finds, the hill on which the fortress was built has attracted people since the Neolithic period. There were Celtic, Roman, Byzantine, Hunnic and, finally, Serbian military fortifications on this place.
Belgrade became the capital of Serbia in 1404. It all fit within the fortress, divided into an Upper and a Lower City. However, Belgrade was Serbian for a short time — from 1427 to 1867, Hungary, Turkey, Austria and Turkey alternately owned it. After 1867, it became Serbian again.
It's a great park overall. There are places to walk, beautiful panoramas. The only question is the mixing of topics. There are dinosaurs, military equipment, and medieval motifs sung by the fortress. This is strange
A beautiful medieval castle. The place is steeped in history. There are many interesting locations. Exhibitions, Activities, secret passages and much more. I recommend visiting, I'm sure it will be a great pleasure!
A fortress on a hill in the historical center of Belgrade. The highest point of the old part of the city with beautiful views of the confluence of the Danube and the Sava. Everything is very clean and well maintained, there are several free toilets in the park, a large number of benches (there are also modern ones with USB chargers for gadgets) and urns. Good landscaping: lots of trees and lawns. Holidays, festivals and mass events are often held. A favorite attraction for both tourists and locals, which is definitely worth a visit to anyone who comes to the city :-)
A wonderful recreation park, lots of benches on the riverbank with wonderful views of the city! We just fell in love with him! Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets!
A beautiful fortress!
We spent almost 4 hours walking through it.
There is something to see and enjoy the views. And of course, take a picture.
Very convenient parking at the very top of the building, and free of charge. But you need to arrive earlier!
A place for both an introductory walk and just for relaxing. There is a lower Kalemegdan with access to the embankment (across the street) - there is a free dog park there, if you are from the caste of dog lovers, appreciate it! You can sit / lie on the grass in the sun or in the shade of trees.
A good park for walking.
Positive:
1. Location: historical center. The park stands above the confluence of two rivers. There is a beautiful view from the embankment.
2. There is a lot of greenery in the park.
3. You can have a picnic with your family, taking a blanket and food.
4. There are many tents with water, snacks and souvenirs.
The best place for us was in Belgrade! Large viewing platforms with benches and beautiful views of the river and the city! There's a lot of history in this place!
Belgrade is beautiful. And the park is a special place where everything seems to come together - history, nature, people from all over the world and stunning views of the city and rivers.
A cool historical place located in the center of Belgrade between the new part of it and the old one right on the banks of the Sava and Danube rivers. Inside the fortress there are historical monuments, photographs of epochs and imported military equipment. The best views from above the fortress of Belgrade and the rivers themselves surrounding the fortress. There are guides around the park and you can get information about the history. It's a very long drive. A lot of public transport is carried to the park. You can get around all the objects in 2-3 hours.
In good weather, a great place to walk. For both children and adults. An ancient fortress that has been expanding over the centuries. Playgrounds, playgrounds for sports. An open-air military museum. There is a place to eat.
An interesting and large fortress. You can walk around the territory for several hours. Atmospheric.
There is an open exhibition of equipment and artillery. It also offers beautiful views of the river.
Among the disadvantages, there is quite a lot of garbage. Especially on remote bastions. It feels like the locals almost have picnics there at night.
In general, I do not recommend coming here at night.
A great tourist destination. A small, cozy park and a huge fortress, or rather several fortresses, which for 2000 years were built, destroyed, restored, rebuilt, supplemented by the then owners. Much of it has been restored, and work continues. We walked here for two days, tearing off new corners and mysterious passages. It is a very interesting and informative place. There is a great view from the top of the fortress.
A real fortress! It is very interesting and pleasant to walk there. Manicured lawns. The star was removed from the walls of the fortress, it would be necessary to pay more attention and care to them.
An interesting place, a business card of the city that can be improved.
There is a beautiful view of the confluence of two rivers, there are parks for children, sports grounds and various museums, there are also various military equipment starting from the First World War, although some are a little abandoned.
A large and beautiful fortress. You can go almost everywhere. Get into every corner. There is a small museum of military equipment on the territory of the fortress.
The most beautiful place is not far from the confluence of two rivers. Great view of the city. A lot of vacationers. There are quite a lot of historical monuments, most of which are associated with wars. It is said that Belgrade has experienced more wars than any other city in the world.
An amazing place! Well-groomed territory, fantastic views, lots of benches, as well as kiosks, cafes, playgrounds for children, museums. Concerts and sporting events are held. The territory is huge! This park has become a place of STRENGTH for me!
The perfect place to spend another day in Belgrade. Grab a sparkling wine and go to the wall by the observation deck. The view is amazing, but remember, the toilet is not close!)))
I went for a walk at lunch in great weather. In fact, this is a large park on the remains of the fortress, of course, restoration is underway, you can climb the tower, the wall. Visit the museum. But first of all, these are walks through the territory, which is very well-maintained. There are excursion groups, including local school groups. There is an interesting playground with dinosaurs.

We just walked around the territory, looked around and took pictures, we didn't visit museums or other installations. We had a good time. Beautiful views of the Danube River. For walks in the park, I recommend wearing a hat, there are very few places on the territory where you can hide in the shade, sit, relax.
If it weren't for the tanks, it would have been nicer, but it's a very beautiful place, a large square, and people walk with dogs like everywhere else in Belgrade.

Beautiful Park-fortress. The entire complex
it is worth a visit, both as a park and for historical reasons. It is very well connected as a whole with the pedestrian zone and walks of the Sava and Danube on the side of the Old Town. Special recommendation for guided tours of underground corridors and rooms. In the complex there are several landscaped children's playgrounds, a dino park, several restaurants, a zoo, a military museum with a permanent outdoor display.etc. For both tourists and residents of Belgrade, a favorite place to walk.
A wonderful place for walking with children, as well as a quiet walk alone. Clean, beautiful, you can always find a free bench or admire the surroundings while sitting on the fortress wall
A great park for walking👍
Entrance to the fortress is free. Excellent view of the Sava and the Danube. There are many benches for relaxing. Thematic exhibitions from the administration and local residents (cat show).
The view is very beautiful at night, but not very much during the day, so I advise everyone to go here with their family, and preferably in the evening.
It's a nice, atmospheric place. It is unclear why parks of weapons and dinosaurs were placed inside the fortress. It would probably be better without them.
The inhabitants of Serbia carefully protect their historical heritage, as this fortress is a symbol of Serbia and, of course, Belgrade! We were there on August 3, 2024, at the hottest time! But we walked around the entire territory and admired both the fortress and the view of the Danube from above!Definitely it is necessary to visit there!
It's a very beautiful place. The fortress has both old ruins and a landscaped park. It's nice to take a walk. A great place for photos. You can climb up to the fortress along the old path - it is difficult, high, but conveys the full scale of the ancient fortress on the riverbank. A place of pilgrimage for tourists from all over the world. I recommend.
