On the plus side, they gave us an upgrade and put us in a historical room (i.e. someone from famous personalities stayed, but the staff doesn't know who exactly). The room was spacious, with high ceilings, Baroque style, with two small balconies and a beautiful view.
There is a Russian-speaking administrator, and the staff speaks English well.
The disadvantages were the lack of free water (1.5 liters cost 4.5 dollars here), such a breakfast, food and cocktails at the rooftop bar. We once saw a cockroach on the floor of a restaurant on the ground floor.
Good location, a stone's throw from the Capitol and right next to the main theater. It is also very close to the Floridita bar.
Another big disadvantage is the very poor Internet connection. We were there for only two days, on the first day we couldn't connect at all, it turned out only late in the evening. WiFi does not work everywhere, in particular only in the lobby, which is inconvenient. The internet was much better at the Varadero hotel.
Havana is beautiful! The hotel is located in the very center, next to the Capitol, within walking distance of the old town. The exterior of the hotel is 5 stars, the interior is 5 stars, but not everything is so good with the rooms, you may get a room without windows, more precisely, the windows will go out into the technical area and the grilles on them will not let daylight through (when booking, it is worth considering more expensive rooms with a balcony). There is a relaxation area on the roof with a magnificent view of the central square and old Havana.
An interesting hotel, ancient in the colonial style, not only the architecture, but also the interior decorations. The staff is helpful and loyal. The breakfasts are good by the standards of the country. A pianist is playing! The room is clean, although like everything in Cuba it is slightly tired.
The unpleasant thing is that change from dollars is always given in pesos, but pesos are never accepted as payment. Apparently, these are the rules of the state, not the place. It is easy to dispose of this change as a tip to the staff. A special theme is the rooftop restaurant! There is nothing to eat there, but wine and gorgeous views of the center of Havana are easy to find)
The hotel where Anna Pavlova lived. Pretty tired. There is a roof terrace with a beautiful view, anyone can get there. Payment only by card, which is inconvenient for us Russians. The location is great, I didn't like the food

For a tourist who was not prepared for the reality of Cuba, the gap between expectations and reality can be huge, especially when there is hope that everything will be better at the hotel.
Room: there were periodic problems with water, and the rooms had terrible humidity and constant noise from an industrial air conditioner under the window - this is if you got a room without a balcony overlooking the courtyard, if you got a room with a balcony, then be prepared for constant noise in the evening - music from the restaurant downstairs and on the roof).
The rooms are not cleaned very well.
Restaurant downstairs of the hotel: we had breakfast included, but very little looks edible. We ate raw pancakes with butter and jam all week. There were fruits, but they were not ripe. The finale was sour milk in coffee and a cockroach in bread.
In addition to these problems, it is worth noting that the quality of Wi-Fi left much to be desired: the network was constantly disconnected, which created inconvenience for those who needed constant Internet access.
It is important to note that the hotel accepts payments on most cards, including Mir cards, with the exception of American cards. In addition, the hotel offers a profitable currency exchange at a favorable rate, which can be convenient for tourists.
It is also worth mentioning that the hotel has a shop where you can buy rum, cigars and coffee, but the prices here are higher than in shops on the street or in Duty-Free.
Great location and lobby, but everything is very shabby. There are dirty cups in the restaurant. There's sand in the bed. The number is higher than the width. There is no bathtub or ventilation in the bathroom. It is very noisy from the condenser units behind the wall. It smells of paint and cats. And all this for 300 euros per night. Breakfast with a pianist in a beautiful restaurant. Good quality of the dishes. The colonial atmosphere is present.
Many thanks to the employee at the reception Ludwig for the decision to check in early.the hotel itself is certainly shabby, but the staff is trying their best.since this was the first impression of Havana and the people living there, the top five.
The most interesting and maybe the oldest hotel in the center of old Havana. Among the advantages: a view of the park, walking access to all attractions, tourist streets opposite, through the park.
Of the cons: crowds of beggars in the evenings, the buffet is varied, but the taste is so-so. And a very, very slow elevator)))
The staff does not mind throwing you a couple of cookies.
A nice hotel in the colonial style. A large breakfast buffet (unlike the nearby Telegraph). However, the rooms are small in size, you can fit right next to each other and with luggage
