The hotel is cool, especially for Sri Lanka.
Good territory, normal rooms and, most importantly, excellent food, there is something to compare it with.
They pour local booze, but decent.
The pools are good.
It's better not to go outside the territory, it's not Thai or even Bali and Cuba. In fact, in a quiet village. All excursions are very long, only the round trip takes 4-6 hours. We were out of season, it really rained constantly, the humidity is wild in the rooms, you don't even have to iron things.
There are no slippers or bathrobes in the rooms. Shampoos and a small mini soda bar.
For a relaxing holiday without leaving the hotel, that's the thing. We flew flydubai from Moscow with a short transfer of 3 hours.
For 11 nights, along with overnight flights, it cost 130 thousand per person. It makes no sense to go here more expensive. For a one-time trip and exploring Sri Lanka, it is normal.
The contingent is mixed, there are regions from the Russian Federation with all the consequences in terms of clothing and behavior at the bar and in the pool.
The main disadvantage is that large groups of Indians often came to the hotel, etc., for a couple of days, something like off-site corporate events - noise, hubbub, jostling in the canteen.
In Spain, this grid is, of course, cooler, and the price tag is too.
In general, I recommend this to be the best hotel in this region.

The hotel is good, I recommend it for a family holiday. The food is delicious and varied, there are always shrimp. Alcohol of average quality. The staff is responsive, the cleaning is of high quality. Cigarettes cost 1,100 rubles per pack, so take them with you. The ocean is warm and dangerous with me, rescuers pulled out 10 people in 10 days. It is better to swim in front of the swing, there is a solid bottom and not deep. The wave is constantly coming. There are lagoons nearby on a tuk tuk for a few dollars you will be taken. There is a village on the right, and behind it there are very beautiful views. Live music in the evening. There are a lot of Russians and Poles, all exactly without politics, inadequate people played volleyball with them. Of the disadvantages, there is no animation during the day. It is better not to take excursions from our travel agencies for a very long time, we eat everything quickly and take a long time to get back. A lot of local operators will be convenient on time. It takes at least three hours to get to all the places, but the views are very good. Take toothpaste with you, it is not in the rooms and is not given.

Excellent hotel 🥰 It takes 2 hours from Colombo Airport to the hotel - the transfer is also excellent. The room is clean, spacious, and has a comfortable balcony and ocean view. I really enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves - a complete relaxation. 10/10 meals: for a family with two children aged 10 and 9, the menu is excellent. A separate recommendation: be sure to try French fries - they are so delicious. The pools are clean, and the drinks of your choice are at the Flamingo Bar. There is a Russian-speaking staff member at the reception who will help with check-in. There is also a wonderful gym with exercise equipment on site. We had a rest on 02/16/24/25 - it was mostly sunny all the days and 2 days with clouds. We took the tour to two locations at once: an elephant nursery and a tea factory. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We enjoyed absolutely everything - it was the most exotic vacation for my family and me - the hot sun in February.

A very nice hotel in a beautiful location.everything is clean, polite, helpful staff, varied meals.meat and fish dishes are not always delicious , but the assortment is sufficient , including oysters and shrimps .an abundance of delicious fresh fruits .wonderful desserts .there is practically no entertainment in the hotel, only live music in the evenings.a gorgeous clean outdoor swimming pool at the hotel.There 's no coffee .once during the entire period , they organized something like a dance party , but they made a paid entrance , few people wanted to pay , provided that they had already paid a considerable amount for everything included.alcohol is very expensive, it is better to take it with you from home .but all in all, the power and energy of nature and the ocean in this place make your vacation unforgettable.

well, the food practically does not change from day to day, but the variety always allows you to choose something delicious! Meat, fish, shrimp, chicken in all kinds... The soups are not delicious, unfortunately.
For lovers of sweets, the choice is so-so (everything is kind of monotonous), not to compare with Turkey, but there is ice cream, fresh fruit, and even a chocolate fountain.
I liked the two A la carte restaurants. Only in Italian, we didn't immediately understand that we should order the main course)))
There is not a lot of choice for a child, but there are always potatoes, noodles, vegetables, fruits, yoghurts, meat is not spicy, eggs.

the ocean is raging and only the brave can swim. But we went out and admired the waves, breathed in the sea air.
We saw monitor lizards, palm squirrels and all kinds of birds...
we bought the cheapest room, but there were three of us adults and a baby. But, thanks to the hotel management, in addition to the two double beds available, we were provided with an extra single bed and no extra charges!!!!
All I did was write a request in advance to the company's email address. In addition, we were given the best possible room. 4129 - a beautiful view of some church and part of the ocean is also visible, and at the same time it is not noisy, not damp, there are no foreign odors and insects do not reach..
Mattresses and pillows are very comfortable, although our daughter is picky in this regard.
This is the first time I've seen room cleaning like this... This is aerobatics.
Considering that our toys and things were always scattered, as it is impossible to hide everything from the child..
So, we came and everything was put on the shelves... Always original towel figurines... Clean floor, shower, toilet, balcony.. In general, thanks to the staff for such work!! It was very nice to thank them for that!
The family pool is clean and the water is warm. It only cheered me up when men and women without children went into this pool, and even with alcohol. Although, there are 2 more adult pools for them. There's one right at the bar...
the animators are working really well, concerts and live performances in the evenings. There's a nightclub, but we didn't go there.
We did not go on excursions.
We only visited the supermarket in our village and drove to the city a couple of times.
By the way, I want to thank tuk-tuker.

I was on vacation with my family from 14.01.-23.01.25The Riu Sri Lanka Hotel is simply wonderful. Comfortable accommodation, comfortable and spacious rooms. High-quality cleaning. I would like to learn more about nutrition. The cuisine is very diverse. Breakfast can be familiar for those who like European or Turkish, yogurt, omelets, plows, rolls, butter, casseroles, porridges, there is a menu, and in the Asian "style". Also lunch and dinners. Cuisine for every taste. From meat dishes, there is mutton, chicken, beef. A large selection of seafood-fish, tuna, both raw and grilled. Shrimps, crabs, squid, mussels and more. A large selection of vegetable dishes. The only thing I didn't like was the fruit! They're kind of a little immature!

Everything is very good. I liked it for the next 3rd time. We had a rest together with my husband. The restaurant is top-notch, with a varied menu. Ice cream, chocolate fountains every day. Fruits are plentiful. The waiters and staff are very friendly. The animation guys are funny, sociable, and offer different games throughout the day. Unlimited drinks. The rooms are cleaned daily, clean. Every day there are animals made of towels on the bed - it's nice. We left chocolates in return. In the evenings, musical performances, live music. A night disco for everyone, regardless of age. There is a night bar for a snack with fruits, coffee and tea from 22.00 to 6.00.
And now the wishes for improving the quality of rest:
1. On the playground for active games (boccia, volleyball) There is a constant sewage smell due to the surface discharge of sewage from the hotel. The sand is always wet. It's kind of unpleasant to play and inhale sewer odors. Moreover, this has been the case for all these years - nothing has changed.
2. The bar has a limited amount of Calypso rum compared to previous years. The bartenders at the pool primarily serve English-speaking vacationers, which is also not a very pleasant moment.
3. I would like to see daily information about the upcoming events of the day held by the animators.
We wish all future vacationers a great holiday!
We plan to return to Rio next year.

The hotel is great. The location is convenient, the accessibility to various places is almost minute. The staff is very friendly, there is practically not a single issue that would not be resolved in the shortest possible time. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Room cleaning EVERY day! The cleaning quality is pleasing.
A separate word about the kitchen.
There are three restaurants on site. And of course, since the all-inclusive system, no one will ever be hungry. Plus a snack bar, open at night. Well, if you really don't have enough...
three pools, for every taste. One for adults, so to speak, with a bar. There are a lot of drinks . It is simply impossible to stay without your preferred alcohol. At any time of the day!
The impressions from the visit are very, very positive. I'd love to go again. And God willing, more than once!

We were with my husband for 10 days, we liked everything, the service is excellent, everything is clear, the cleaning is daily and high-quality, the food is delicious, there are a lot of food, two restaurants are open, the pools are cleaned properly, every evening there are good programs at the hotel. Sri Lankans are great, positive, responsive. There are no complaints about the hotel, if we get to the island again, we will stay here without hesitation.
The only thing to keep in mind is that all tourist destinations are located in the center of Sri Lanka, so it's either a long time to get there, or consider something closer to Kandy.

My first time in Sri Lanka. The hotel is of a very good standard. Tourism in the country is only developing. There's a lot to see.
On the wrist, bracelets are given to everyone at the hotel, according to which tourists are identified locally :)
The food is predominantly Asian, but without the fanaticism of spices. Three Ala-kart restaurants: Japanese, Italian cuisine and barbecue. You can visit each one THREE times, by appointment.
The staff is friendly. The locals outside the hotel are clingy. They sell their services, which are three to five times more expensive than usual. Therefore, be sure to bargain! Everything that the locals offer is solely for their benefit, you are secondary, you are a wallet.
All tours are only from the hotel!
The beach is sandy.
The ocean is magical! It was December, and the waves were moderate. Features of swimming in the ocean: you can not swim far, there is a strong reverse wave near the shore that can lead into the ocean. The wave covers your head, you can't get out dry :)
The sun is dangerous, a lot of people are burned, although the sky is cloudy. Lizards walk along the beach, they are not dangerous. Monkeys have been seen on the territory of the hotel, chipmunks are scurrying.

I liked the hotel, the rooms were comfortable, I got a direct view of the ocean, on the 3rd floor. The room was cleaned daily and of high quality. The food is varied, there have always been different types of meat, fish and seafood. Fruits are also varied, always delicious, ripe and sweet. The service in the restaurants is good. We were often served by a waiter named Krishan, who is a professional in his field, Always smiling, friendly, and quick to respond to requests. He understands and speaks a little Russian. The beach is clean, there are always plenty of sun beds on site. The theme of the Evening animation is diverse, but apart from performances, there were not enough contests for vacationers to have more fun. We are completely satisfied with our stay in this hotel and the country.

This is amazing! The best vacation, the best hotel ! I really liked everything! Abundance of seafood and fruits! People are just smart ! They are very attentive to every guest! Some kind of animal is constantly running around the territory, some birds, some monitor lizards, then crabs))) the ocean near the Buyny hotel, if you can say so, swimming is really unrealistic! But don't relax, take a tuk tuk for 5 minutes and you're on a calm beach) and if you drive 30 minutes to Hikaduwa beach, you can swim and feed the turtles there!

In early November 2024, we were with our family at this hotel. I liked everything very much. The hotel has 3 swimming pools (not deep) and slides for very young children. The territory of the hotel is compact, palm trees have grown between the hotel and the beach (so the photos on the official website also need to be changed). The staff is friendly. There is animation every evening, but there is nothing in Russian. The cocktails are delicious. I recommend the hotel for a maximum of 10 days if without excursions, if with excursions, then you need more time since trips take 3 hours or more in one direction. The beach is clean, the waves are big, the sun bakes strongly during the day, so as not to burn, take a cream from 70+.

We couldn't swim on the beach near the hotel because of the big waves, so we rode a tuk-tuk to the lagoon every day and frolicked for hours in the soft ocean waves. The hotel has a disadvantage on the beach-there are a lot of annoying guys who want to sell you something, take you somewhere or take you to "their garden" to see monkeys, but in fact- to the store. They don't just let you walk on the beach for the first few days! Then they stopped bothering us, but we also understood what was going on)
In general, the hotel has everything you need, take it safely. People living in a nearby hotel, which is also not cheap, took a day stay at the Riu because they didn't like their hotel at all.
We will return to this hotel again, but for a longer time, in order to have time to go to the center of the island to the most interesting sights!

We rested here in November. The hotel is 10 out of 10! The service is at the highest level. Cleanliness, order! A huge selection of food in the main restaurant. Everything was also delicious in the Italian restaurant and in the Asian one. Daily room cleaning is at the highest level. Beautiful towel figurines every day. A chic beautiful hotel with a responsive caring staff, the food is varied and very tasty (there are national dishes, vegetarian, meat, fish, spicy, and lean; a very large selection of fruits, fresh fruits). If there is a decent snack bar for meals from 10 pm to 7 am. Take a room with a direct view of the ocean, you will not regret it, as you will be 100 meters away from it. The beach of the hotel ends with a net, which spoils the impression a little, after it begins a public beach, to which the sun loungers will not work.

Just a gorgeous hotel! We were extremely pleased!
2 hours from Matalla airport.
We were checked in at 3 o'clock. If it is possible to pay 10,000 rubles extra for a side sea view, you will not regret taking it.
The room has everything you need (except a brush and paste, but we brought them with us). The entire mini bar is included (cola, fanta, sprite, water, juice). Everything else is standard:a bed, a sofa, a closet, and so on, but the coolest thing is the balcony... when the child was asleep, my husband and I could hang out there for hours.
The main Restaurant is just great! I just ate too much tuna and shrimp for half a year ahead. There were lobsters and even crabs for Christmas dinner! If you don't like seafood, then there was pork, beef, and chicken. During breakfast/lunch/dinner, the waiters serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
There are 4 swimming pools (18+ with a bar, a children's pool with slides, for active games and a regular one), an area for evening shows, and a beach area.
In the bars, the staff pours incredibly delicious cocktails.
The only drawback is that the hotel has very large waves and strong back currents, and the rescuers on the shore are only local, who, by the way, are insanely annoying. We rode a tuk tuk to the so-called lagoon (2 dollars - 600 rupees). So they forgot to pick us up from there... well, I took the number of the main tuk tuker. In the same lagoon, the divorce continues. A local man comes up and starts spreading them, saying take a sunbed and an umbrella for 2000 rupees and then you won't have any problems. And the waves there are not much smaller than in the hotel.
There is also a lagoon to the right of the hotel, but another local sticks around and will just stand over his soul and offer a turtle farm. You can go to beautiful beaches one at a time, but this imposition is just terrible.
During the week, we went on a two-day Ella and Kandy tour from the tour operator and did not regret it, as there is such a serpentine - it is better to overpay for security. And for an individual excursion to Bentota and Halle via danytour - we didn't regret it.
There is a village outside the hotel, there is nowhere to go out. In general, each hotel has its pros and cons. The hotel is gorgeous, everything outside is sad.

It wasn't our first time visiting this hotel chain. I can say that this is definitely a solid 5-star rating in this region. The hotel is clean everywhere (rooms, common areas, swimming pool, dining room), all the time the staff cleans during the day. The food is very diverse, there is everything your heart desires (all kinds of meat, shrimp, fish, crabs, squid, vegetables, fruits, etc.). All the a la carte restaurants also offer delicious and varied food (recording takes place via the RIU app).
There is a swimming pool with an adult-only bar, where children are not allowed to swim, which is just great for adult guests.
The rooms are spacious and have everything you need.
The ocean was wild, we hardly swam, but it didn't spoil our rest in any way.
There are always free sun beds.
I definitely recommend it and would come back.

Hello, my family and I are visitors to this hotel on the recommendation of friends. We were very satisfied , the food is good , the food is of high quality . Starting with fish , meat . vegetables and fruits, ending with seafood and high-quality drinks. The room was cleaned every day , it was clean and changed to bed linen upon request, the drinks bar was replenished daily. There were always empty seats in the restaurant , a large crowd of people was not observed when choosing food . I would like to note the work of the waiters and service staff, who performed their duties without additional tips and other incentives.

I left the beautiful RIU hotel a week ago and would like to share my opinion about this place. Initially, when planning a trip to Sri Lanka, I dreamed of living away from the noisy city and crowded, in nature, among the jungle - this hotel is located there)). The incredibly dense and green jungle was pleasing with its brightness even in cloudy weather. The hotel grounds are beautiful. It's not very big, but everything is very spacious, with beautiful plants, lizards, chipmunks – there is life everywhere. I really liked the interior of the rooms, the hotel itself and the pools. The pools are divided into: children's (with a volleyball net and a water polo gate); adult (with tables, chairs and a bar in the water); and a general view (with sun beds). The day program is very interesting: water aerobics, water polo, volleyball, bingo, jogging on mats in the water – and much more, happening both in the children's and adult pools. A very nice man, Delum, did water aerobics every day at 12 o'clock. She was funny, incendiary, with great music, and her muscles always ached after her. Sometimes the charming and smiling animator Anupama came to the aqua aerobics (he also conducts programs at the adult pool and bingo). It was always a pleasure to communicate with him, it was hard to refuse when he invited me to participate in something. He had a nice conversation and was always happy to see my family. I am very grateful to him for the smiles he gave me, for the best mood during my vacation, he is incredibly cute.It was he who became the bright final chord of my trip, leaving incredible impressions about the country and the people in it, showing how kind and polite their culture is, which respects and loves other people.
The whole staff was very kind and polite, always answered all questions, even multiple ones. The rooms were perfectly clean every day – the best cleaning I have ever seen. Beautiful towel figurines were waiting for us on the bed every day.
Every evening there were shows at the hotel: two dance shows by animators (the guys are great actors and very incendiary!), two shows with national songs and dances (I was very impressed, I couldn't help smiling and admiring), live music by local singers and two discos with good music (I danced with pleasure).
The food was very tasty: fresh and sweet fruits, fresh and delicious fish, there was a chocolate fountain twice. We also visited the Italian restaurant in the hotel, where I tried lasagna… It was incredibly delicious, just like in Italy! I've been dreaming about this kind of lasagna for a long time, thank you.
The sea and the beach were clean, and, importantly for the girls, almost deserted! A huge beach for photos is at your service!)) The only negative is the intrusive locals with their suggestions, even if they are not needed. For the first few days, I didn't want to go to the beach because of this… As a girl, men immediately attacked me, and I felt uncomfortable. Then I got used to it, and they kind of fell behind.
Thank you very much to this hotel and the staff, I was incredibly sad to leave, every day I review my videos and photos from there and miss you very much 💔 I already want to return 🥹 I did not regret choosing this place 🫶🏻💘

Excellent hotel, staff, cuisine, service, many restaurants. There are two disadvantages, it's the air conditioning system in the rooms, it's too cold, it can't be made warmer. The hotel is good: beautiful, delicious, still quite fresh. But there is a caveat: during the period of full occupancy, this is 1,200 people in a closed area. It's fun in the evening - concerts, cocktails, such a big party. But it's a little cramped in the daytime. We were just going on a field trip. The hotel will offer you a two-day tour of the island - cool, I really liked it. But the rest of the days we were entertained by local guys. We were shown amazing places on tuk-tuks: waterfalls with monkeys, river safaris with crocodiles, a turtle farm, beautiful empty beaches, local shops and much more. But!!!!! The waves ruined the whole impression of the holiday , because they are there all year round . A hotel of this level could have made breakwaters . We had a vacation in December , but they told us the waves were there all year round . It was sad to be near the ocean and never take a dip . A tourist almost drowned in front of us .

We have been vacationing for more than a week in room 2105. This is the 7th country of our travels! We consider ourselves demanding and even moody, but the hotel justifies its 5 stars 100%! Clean, modern, customer-oriented! The cuisine is amazing, the cleaning is of high quality, the waiters are attentive! We rested for 10 days, including New Year's Eve. I really liked everything! No one extorted money or stole from the safe. No one got poisoned.
There were a lot of people, but the hotel was well prepared and there was enough room for everyone. The cleaning is great! Chipmunks and monitor lizards run around the territory.
Delicious coffee is brewed in the lobby.
The food is about the same, but it's still different every day. Every day there is some kind of fish, meat, chicken + pork.
The ocean is always a wave. But if you walk 2 km to the left, there is a calm lagoon. Or you can ride a tuktuk for pennies.

We had a rest in February 2024. I really liked the hotel!!! Everything is cool... food, alcohol... good quality and as much as you want, beach, rooms.. despite the fact that Russians are settled in certain places on a hike) with a view of the roof... Everyone is relaxing, getting high!!! We didn't swim in the ocean in front of the hotel.. We left for the lagoon, on the left... You can see her! We walked a couple of times... only the legs get tired from the unaccustomed.. On the sand!!! The views are gorgeous!!! You're walking away from the hotel.. 100-200 meters and deserted clean beaches!!!) The ocean!!!) This is not the sea.. ) heat, humidity.. I don't like it, but I liked it in Sri Lanka!!! One small minus))) the staff does not know Russian from the word at all... of course, with the exception of bars))) the guys learn fast there) annoying taxi drivers on tuk tuks) they will take them to the lagoon for $ 2, but you need to look after them, they can take them to their own shops without asking) you can not take money at all) they changed $ 300 for local money) 90 thousand Tugrikov... then they didn't know where to spend it.. the store at the hotel has collected T-shirts and all sorts of souvenirs) I recommend the hotel!!! He is dangerous and beautiful at the same time. Of course, we swam in it all the time, but the reverse current is very treacherous, we must be careful. But it's solvable. On a tuk tuk, here at the exit from the hotel to the beach, they are always waiting for you, for 300 rupees one way (about 100 rubles) you will be taken away in 5 minutes, where the ocean is much calmer. Also, walk along the beach for 20-25 minutes. In general, this hotel will not be boring.
