Yesterday I booked a room at the Grand Sami Hotel and paid through Agoda. Upon arrival, the manager said that he could not check into the hotel because my reservation was not in the system and the hotel was full and there were no available rooms.... In such a situation, managers ask you to pay again and only in CASH.
It turns out that I have to pay twice for the same room.
Next, we had a correspondence with the AGODA support team for several hours. AGODA employees called the hotel owner and talked to the hotel manager.
But the Turkish side claimed that their system was not updated on the Internet and they did not see any data ... (like a database freezes or the system doesn't open.... and they come up with some other reasons )
The manager at the hotel asks you to pay in cash or leave....
This scenario is invented for all tourists to get more money. And the tourist has nowhere to complain, because he knows nothing about the new country....and hiring a lawyer is expensive.
In fact, my hotel room was simply resold to another person, and I was thrown out on the street..... Now I had to look for another hotel for new money for the night....
AGODA wrote to me that this SITUATION IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE BECAUSE I HAVE A CONFIRMED RESERVATION AND PAYMENT. AGODA also apologized and said they would refund the money to the card within 30 business days.
Thus, even a paid hotel reservation does not mean that you will be checked into the hotel. Your room may be resold to other tourists for cash.
While I was waiting in the lobby, other tourists came and they came up with the same scenario. If the online booking was $ 11 for 1 day, then the manager at the reception only asked for cash of $ 15 for 1 day. And staying for 20-30 days makes a significant difference.
Perhaps the hotel managers are coming up with this scenario in order to earn more money... Or the hotel owner himself is the director of such a scam.
I THINK IT IS NECESSARY TO CLOSE SUCH A HOTEL, BECAUSE ALL TOURISTS FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES ARE BEING DECEIVED HERE.
Never, ever come to this hotel!! It's just awful!! The information about the hotel on all units does not match!! A standard room with a double bed is actually a room in the basement ( -2 floor) and all the charms of it are in the photo. Plus, there is still no heating from the word at all !! Nothing!!!(just a fridge!!) And a double bed is a rotten narrow single bed with a rotten double mattress that just turns over if you sit on the edge!
