The territory is large, many people are just walking, quietly, calmly, peacefully. I just want to sit and listen to the birds. The temple is very beautifully painted, and we went to a christening in it. There are a lot of trees on the territory, almost like a park.
The main temple of the Armenian Apostolic Church, built in the early 9th century, immediately after the proclamation of Christianity as the official religion in Armenia.
Opposite are the Pontifical Residence and the Monastic Residence.
A must-visit place in Armenia is on my list.
The atmosphere, the stunning wall paintings (not seen in other Temples of Armenia), the mesmerizing sound of chants.
The name means "the place of the descent of the Only Begotten".
The heart of the Armenian people.
The first church in the world, the place of which was indicated by God Himself and the realization that He was here, changes the attitude towards this place.
All the Armenians, our former greatness and all 17 centuries of our long-suffering faith are physically felt here.
