A great place for walks and photo sessions in the center of the wonderful Belarusian city of Brest!
The boulevard on Gogol Street is quite long, there are a lot of lanterns. However, they don't shine very brightly.
Next to the monument to the 1000th anniversary of Brest, Sovetskaya pedestrian street runs perpendicular, which is also very nice and pleasant for walking ...)))
A very interesting alley with beautiful lanterns. Many of them are real works of art. It's very cool, original and sincere. Many thanks to the authors!
It turns out that Brest is famous not only for the heroic deeds of the fortress heroes, but also for the modern alley of lanterns on one of the central streets - Gogol Street. There are dozens of lanterns installed on it, each of which is a separate art object, many of them based on the works of Gogol. These lanterns were made by enterprises and entrepreneurs of the city at their own expense, and were installed in 2013 to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Brest from the Nazi invaders. We were lucky to visit the fortress first, and then take a walk along Gogol Street with the same local guide. A very picturesque and provincially cute town with a formidable and glorious history. I highly recommend that travelers who come to Brest Fortress see the city.
