Scam is the best word to describe this place. Never had similar situation. I made a booking two days prior arrival, never been contacted by the property, nevertheless the property confirmed my booking. I arrived to Shymkent yesterday in the afternoon after a long flight and in the middle of snow storm. It took me almost an hour from the airport to reach hotel, and when I finally arrived, I had a most unpleasant surprise. The reception lady was very rude, asking me 40$ per night and trying to explain me that my 6$ per night reservation is a system mistake. I’m aware that 6$ per night seemed a bit too cheap but since this is a hotel in the small Kazakhstan city, I thought they lowered the prices due lack of guests. Anyway, we had a small discussion where she explained me that she’s paying her stuff more then 6$, and that her best offer can be 38$ per night. I didn’t want to trade, I made booking as usual and never had similar situation. I had to book another hotel since I was needed place to stay for the same night, so I lost significant amount of nerves and money. Avoid this place, it’s not a surprise that’s not on Google maps.
