There's a greay selection of products and good quality. Look for an amazing bakery just opposite entrance, but my real favorite is the restaurant on the left that serves the best dolma I have had anywhere......
Relocated from their amazing former factory premises, the new venue is definitely more accessible and organised, but smaller by about 40%. They seem to have lost the clothing and furniture sections plus artwork. However, still definitely worth a visit and pleasant to walk around for a bargain. About same pricing as Izmailova vendors at the weekend. Books upstairs now.
As a regular foreign visitor, I have nothing but praise for this shop. It's a wonderful snapshot to capture real Russian culture of old. A recent upgrade has immensely improved the setup with lovely side rooms set up to further enhance the experience. The owner and his family are ever present and add a nice personal touch to the experience also. There is something for everyone. Many of vitrines are designed for display only, with thousands of items from soviet culture over the years. There are various sections that cover the Olympics, Military, Space, Education, Food and Drink etc. Nostalgia is definitely a given for most Russian visitors over 30 lol. For the retro fashion, there's a great clothing section, including a great winter hat selection, which is the picture below. Newly added is a watch repair guy, which is a nice touch. Highly recommended to take a trip!!!
