The fortress of Yedikule is still partially under restoration. However, it is already possible to enter 3 towers. One of them has a climb to the top. There are wonderful views of the sea and Istanbul from there. The entrance to the fortress on April 5, 2025 costs 250 Turkish lira. Payment at the entrance. Instead of a ticket, they give you a fortress card. It is difficult to photograph the Golden gate itself. There are restoration stands on the inside, and on the outside, at the level of the middle of the gate, a huge piece of either foam or foam, painted in a dark color, was hung on cables. It is not clear for what purpose this was done. But definitely, it was worth going to the fortress.

I was only interested in the Golden Gate itself, the main gate of Constantinople. Therefore, the review is only about them. There is a gate. They're great. Tricuspid. Two of the three openings are sealed. Everywhere you can approach, touch, climb in places. There is an exit to the very top of the gatehouse towers and the gate itself - excellent views of the Marmara Sea. You can determine the place where the quadriga stood, pulled by four elephants. Cool it! If you arrive by 9 a.m., there is a chance that there will be no other visitors in the fortress. It is worth paying attention to the piece of road inside the fortress directly near the gate - it is also a Roman road. Perhaps it was on these stones that Emperor Constantine the Great walked and the legions marched in triumph. But there is no shield of Prophetic Oleg on the gate. It must have been torn off and sold. Tickets are sold at the entrance to the fortress. On April 7, 2025, we were charged 300 lire per ticket. No fiscal documents were issued, just a blueprint of the fortress.

just one thought, that prophetic Oleg nailed his shield here, attracted me to this place with unimaginable force ... the place is being restored, so everything is still not in the best shape, but you can touch everything, climb and immerse yourself in the life of that time.
