Hello everyone.
We had a rest in March of this year. WE RESTED in every sense of the word. The hotel is SUPER. Plus-the common area of two hotels (Zanzibar by Resort & Paradise beach Resort)- very BIG! The staff is very polite! Many thanks to Olga, the hotel manager. She is very kind and helpful. If any questions arise, he solves them promptly with a quick result, leaving a positive and a charge to rest. Olga, you did well! There are enough pools and bars even for the sophisticated vacationer. It's always clean everywhere. The rooms are cleaned daily. Towel replacement, etc. Daily programs for vacationers. Karaoke, dancing, water aerobics, pool volleyball, etc. Alcohol in bars is all bottled, of excellent quality, including beer.
In general, the rest here left an unforgettable impression. Goodbye Zanzibar! Goodbye Resorts! Thank you Olga and her husband! We will definitely come back! Andrey and Marina Busareva.
A large green area, very well maintained, friendly staff, large rooms of 50 m each, all rooms of the hotel have a view of the pool, which is immediately followed by the sea. The food is without much variety, but all you need is to eat. Excellent pasta and pizza (the owner is Italian). There are always fruits (pineapples, watermelons, bananas, and some citrus fruits (2 items are presented at a meal)
The pools are good, the sun beds are occupied by towels, but you will always find a free one. Alcohol is also good, beer is poured from bottles (like Portuguese), cocktails are also made from something decent (I don't drink them), bars are open from 10 to 23 (different, this is the total time). The rooms are cleaned well.
About the beach - the beach at the hotel is of course very mediocre, you can swim only at high tide, and part of the day from the pontoon, except at low tide when the water is slightly gone - the sandbox is already swampy there, in general you do not want to go there. But I also want to mention that out of our 9 days - 6 days we went somewhere, so the problem of the beach is not acute in any way - except for those who plan with young children and adore the sea and not pools. I would not recommend a hotel to such people because of the beach. And to everyone who (like most) plans to explore the island - Welcome. It is conveniently located to drive about an hour to Nungwi and Kendwu, and Paje (these are beaches) and to stone town. You can always find a company at the hotel, and for example for 4 (however, for 6 the price is the same - there are 6-seater cars) a taxi costs $ 40 - they will take you to any beach and will be waiting. as long as it takes (they waited for us for 7 hours), and they will return us back. Excursions from local comrades named Coca-Cola and Suleiman (we went from both) are very inexpensive (for example, 3 in one, Seychelles turtle Island + Stone Town + Nakupenda Island, with a luxurious seafood lunch (lobster crabs shrimp, etc. - everyone ate too much, no one took the lobster already - 35 bucks per person. Of the minuses - the Russian-speaking guide is of course mediocre - and his stories in stone tower - here's the amphitheater, here's this, without details, if it's important to you, then take it from the operators, for 70 bucks the same thing :))) in general, the hotel exceeded our expectations, but I do not recommend with small children - for them There is no food or entertainment. Alcohol is not cheap - a bottle of beer on the beaches costs around 5000-7000 shillings (160-220 rubles) (dollars are more expensive to pay for food / drinks, but paying for excursions / taxis is quite normal. To eat on the beach will cost 15-30 thousand shillings (per person) (from 480 rubles). Massage - there is a massage booth right in front of the hotel entrance. - back 10 bucks an hour, full body massage 15 bucks an hour; a woman does it, very well. There is a spa at the hotel, there is a massage in the area of 35 bucks and above - we did not go.
We were in January 2021, 9 nights, with my family.
The hotel consists of 3 hotels combined into one.
The territory is quite large, therefore, there are 4 pools at different ends.
The best rooms and the pool are the bungal-like rooms opposite the entrance to the main restaurant.
There were a lot of people, mostly Russians. I also crossed paths with Poles.
Three-star service.
The food is so-so - it was our 4th hotel on the island, there is something to compare it with.
There are several local tourist shops opposite the exit. Well, if it's magicians for the locals, there's a lot more fun there.
The beach is crap, at low tide the water goes away for several km.
BUT: for 5-7 bucks you can rent a canoe! And swim away along the shore. I highly recommend it!
There are also good sandy beaches opposite "across the bay". It is better to arrange with local boats - they will take you back and forth on a motorboat for the whole day, 35-45 bucks for 12 people.
I bought this hotel only because I didn't want to sell flights to St. Petersburg without it
:-)
