Great hotel. I was on vacation with my family in March 2024. The location of the hotel is 100 meters from the metro. Tram T1 to help and very close. The breakfasts are good. The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful. Everything went well and quickly at the reception. Both at check-in and at check-out. Thanks to the hotel administration!!!
I really liked the price, the quality is good, BUT never take a room next to a restaurant. The music won't let you sleep until 3 a.m., the rest of the room is cool.
Of the advantages:
the location is a few minutes walk to the Suleiman Mosque, the Grand Bazaar and even the city hall almost around the corner;
Historicity - the hotel is located in the former Janissary barracks.
Cons:
Although I am a Slavic youth, but I am no longer 10 years old and I have not been kidnapped, and therefore I am not ready to live in a closet at all. Yes, to increase the number of rooms, the owners decided to make a dozen more rooms in the middle of a wide corridor - as a result, the room has as many as two doors to different corridors and not a single window, as a result, the room is always dark as a coffin and stuffy. Hence, the next disadvantage is a very loudly working ventilation, which cannot be turned off otherwise the room will suffocate altogether - there is nothing to ventilate.
The chandelier in the room is crooked, a geyser hits the wall from the shower head.
The mini bar does not work, not in the sense that it is not filled with drinks, but the device itself only shines, but does not cool, and therefore if opened it stinks.
The dental kit was not brought even after three requests, and do not even bother with dressing gowns at all.
And of course, the Turkish way of communication - I ask you to change the number, because of the above - "of course we will, but tomorrow, today all the rooms are occupied, come at 14:00 - the check-in hour, so I'm signing you up, the number will be ready." We come tomorrow - "What are you? You should have left the key after breakfast and packed your suitcase and we would have transferred you to another room, but now at 14 all rooms are already occupied." And such stories all the days that we were in it.
And how do you like a historical hammam with a temperature of about 20 degrees? "Oh, I'm sorry, something broke, we already told the technicians," well, yes - I've been telling the hotel technicians for several days about a leaking faucet and a non-working mine bar - the silence is complete, so it's not surprising that the hammam does not warm either. No, thank you, we are not interested in the cold, so that we would be lost with a mitten. We don't know anything - we're going to wash and massage you now, so what if the hammam is cold, we won't refund the money.
The breakfasts are quite meager. From meat - one day only warmed sausage, the other sausages, and the rest of the days everyone should become vegetarians. Of the fruits, only apples, one day kiwi. Do not take juices in any case - one hundred grams of orange per liter of water - well, the water is also natural. I pour tea into one brew, and through it you can read a newspaper, it is so transparent, slightly colored.
Of course, the historical center of Istanbul, the Golden Horn brightens up all the disadvantages, and I do not write that because of the bike ride or protests on May 1, it was impossible to go to or from the hotel - everything was blocked by the police - this is normal, and I wanted to live in the very center. But this is a five-star hotel and such an attitude to details, rooms, hammam, restaurant is unacceptable.
A city hotel. The staff is attentive. The service is good. We arrived before check-in, checked in and the compliment was breakfast, which was not included in the reservation. The location to all mosques is within walking distance. There is an exchange office with a normal exchange rate next to the hotel. One of the disadvantages is that with the window open in the room at 5:30, they sing the morning prayer in mosques.
It doesn't smell like five stars!!! Be prepared that the hotel has rooms on minus the first and minus the second floor without windows in the basement that is!!! On the minus second floor, and the heat from the pool and saunas from the minus third floor.
The three of us adults were accommodated in a double room with a full-size Jacuzzi and a hastily placed cot in the aisle by the door. It turned out to change the room only after attracting a tour operator, we lost half a day because of this. The room was given with three beds, but with a door for the staff behind the wall at the head of the beds, which they banged against the wall. The audibility is phenomenal, as if everyone moving along the corridor lives in your room. the food is mediocre, but we were not hungry, thanks at least for that. The request to leave dinner after returning from the tour was ignored. I do not recommend the hotel!!!!
We liked the hotel 🙏 the staff is responsive 🔥 the room 🔥 and we were especially impressed by the double bathtub ❤️ in the shape of a heart 🔥
The location of the hotel is generally a cannon, near the metro 🚉 around the corner there is a cafe chef Murad - tasty and not expensive 🔥
In general, the hotel is not bad for sleeping, going to the spa. The breakfasts are ordinary, Turkish, but you can eat enough. We booked at the booking for three adults, the room was given the wrong category (less), saying that it was closed, but after a while we found out that we were simply not settled in our reserved room, but instead they gave us a hamam for three (paid: massage + scrubbing) and three glasses of wine, which brightened up this omission of the hotel.
1) The hotel is very old, the stars are 3.
2) There is a musty smell in the rooms with a Jacuzzi on the lower floors, these rooms are spacious, but without windows. We booked these rooms, but they were changed with a view of the street, where it is very noisy - with the windows closed! Music can be heard until 01:00 at night, from a nearby institution in the same building! We must be patient, who wants to sleep! Or walk until 01:00 at night! We had to change the room without a street view, it was quieter, with a large Jacuzzi.
3) Breakfast- you can have a snack, but not 5 of the hotel!
I do not recommend dinner - all that is left from breakfast is cherished, sour.
4) Cleaning- cleaning is bad! I forgot the ring in the room, I wrote to them, but they said there was nothing. Two days later, the daughter (moved to another hotel) went into the room and found a ring under the nightstand! Other people already lived there!
5) Hamam- did not work!!!
6) Staff- friendly, but they know English poorly. We talked through a translator on the phone.
7) the hotel should lower the price for accommodation, since the level is not 5 stars.
A three-star hotel - I put three stars.
So, this is clearly not 5 stars, as many write in the reviews. What exactly might not please you here:
1) Windows. We were put in a room where there was a huge gap between the window and the wall (through which a hand crawled). They offered an alternative - a windowless room on the 1st floor. Considering that we paid for a room with a balcony, we decided that we would stay in the previous one. The next day, the repairmen came, laughed that it was time for the hotel to change something, somehow patched everything up, and it became basically impossible to go out on the balcony or open the window.
The audibility is great! Even with a double-glazed window clogged with nails and glued with rubber, you will wake up at 6 in the morning with the first imams.
2) Room cleaning. Through your fingers, sometimes they don't come, if you don't remind them. They save on everything - instead of two bottles of water, they bring one, tea is not brought at all (please, two bags at check-in - and that's enough), there are no declared toothbrushes and bathrobes in the rooms.
3) Layout. The rooms are very small! There is nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom, and there is nowhere to lay out bath accessories, there is no dryer. The wardrobe is microscopic, but (for some reason) three tables in a row. There's no logic, unless you're a fan of tables.
4) Breakfast. Cheap cheeses, sausages, milk. A joyless breakfast is accompanied by a clown in a torn suit, who is supposed to entertain the children (looks creepy). You can eat, but it's better in a cafe - the variety is questionable.
5) Water! Then it is not there, then it is there. Sometimes it's cold, so you won't wash, then it's hot, you won't guess. It's uncomfortable that you can't wash in the shower in the evening, since the hot water limit for the entire hotel has been used up:(
6) A dirty pool in which someone's hair is floating with people.
From the good:
- location
- the staff is responsive
- quickly settled
- sauna
That's what I put three stars for (I hope one day the hotel will also realize them)
I had the most expensive room booked and paid for. Upon arrival, we were settled into a very ordinary room. Three days later they were relocated, but even then the discontent did not end. The room was on the minus 2nd floor in the basement, although the booking description said that the Windows faced the courtyard. Spoiled vacation
A wonderful hotel. We booked a double or twin room for three adults. We received 1 double and 1 single bed. The mattress and pillows are solid. There is a kettle and a fridge. Every day they bring water, disposable cups, tea, coffee, sugar. The safe is large and can comfortably accommodate two laptops. The bathroom is huge, there is a Jacuzzi, water flows from the tap without sudden temperature changes. The food is delicious, especially the desserts. The staff is polite, they periodically asked if they liked everything. Basically everyone speaks English, but there is also a Russian-speaking administrator Ramadan, if anything will help with communication, and will orient you around the city. There is a metro station near the hotel. Sofia's dream, etc., is just over 20 minutes away. In the other direction, you can walk to the shopping center with a huge migros in 20 minutes. The outdoor pool is closed in winter. It was about five degrees outside, but it was still warm in the hotel. The indoor pool is large enough, there is a sauna, hammam, sun beds. Wifi works smoothly, smartly
We stayed at the hotel in May 2023,
Two standard double rooms were paid for.
The most terrible hotel in the history of our travels (more than 20 years) I haven't met him.
The room is tiny, there are no hangers and shelves for towels in the bathroom (when we checked in, the towels were in the closet, above the safe).
There is nowhere to put toiletries and toiletries, the sink is 30x30 in size, there is no countertop near it.
There is a gap of about 5 cm under the door to the room, i.e. until everyone goes to bed, you can hear every step.
The wardrobe is tiny and has no doors. It is not possible to close the window with night curtains, because their size is smaller than the window.
There are two mattresses on the bed, they have a thin mattress pad that moves out all the time.
The window in the room overlooks a very noisy backyard, if you open it, it is impossible to talk in the room, it is noisy.
You cannot practice in the fitness room, there is no ventilation, the air conditioner does not work.
The pool promised in the photo on May 29 was still working, the recreation area near it looked like a dump.
The location of the hotel near the metro station and tram stop can be considered a good one, but only if you like to live in the Kursky railway station area in the 90s.
Lovely hotel , in a lovely area, in a lovely city
It is very easy to get from the airport
The 12th bus from the new airport to Aksaray station, and then 15 minutes on foot .
There is a metro station and tram T1 nearby.
All the beauties of Istanbul are nearby, you can walk or take the tram.
The hotel itself is clean and shiny. I was very pleased with the mattress :) the room has a kettle, refrigerator, Jacuzzi, air conditioner, etc. Everything for life :)
Great breakfast :)
There is a swimming pool and a gym (but it's stuffy in the gym)
Friendly staff :)
Thank you, I will come here again
I have never seen such a dirty and poorly maintained hotel!!! Even in 3 stars it is more comfortable and the staff treats us with respect, here, to our requests to change the room, give us a room with Windows!(there were none, the smell of mold and detergent in the room!), they just told us: "we can't help anything, that's all there is"
Plus, they offered paid parking of 200€ for 4 days!
At the same time, repair work was carried out on our floor until 1 am!!! It's not 5 stars! This is disrespectful to people! For this money, we just moved to Movenpik, where there is space, cleanliness and excellent service!
The hotel is for an amateur, positions itself as a super suite of 5 stars, the stated photos on the booking do not correspond to reality The old hotel needs repair , everything is a blunder , the staff is very much annoying customers, they are trying in every possible way to twist it so that it is profitable for them, until you specifically arrange a scandal, you will not achieve your goal, and then the rooms leave much to be desired😒
The hotel does not meet the stated 5 stars from the word at all.
The rooms need renovation, like everything else, everything is very old. The superior room has a bunk bed, not a full double bed. The bathtub does not drain and flows. The plumbing is dirty, that is, the cleaning is superficial, the swans are up and that's enough.
Next to the hotel there is a restaurant where music screams until the morning, we woke up every night, with children is not an option at all. The outdoor pool, which is supposed to be open all year round, is not working. In general, we didn't like it, we wouldn't go there anymore.
If Turkey is "all inclusive and no nerves" for you, then you are clearly not in this hotel.
We had a family vacation in April.
The staff is unfriendly.
An interesting story was with the excursions that you book at the hotel.
We paid 110€ per person, we were told that all the entertainment (zoo, motorcycles, rope climbing...) they will be included, but when we arrived at the zoo, the divorce for money began. the guide started telling us the price to visit the zoo and then we found out that the price includes only the bus and the restaurant, pay for the rest. And not to say that the bus was business class and a 5-star dinner for that kind of money.
The cherry on the cake was our departure:
The reception staff asked for tips and said if we didn't give them, they would cancel our taxi to the airport. The time for a minute was 3 a.m.
The hotel was in the month of March 2020, the location is super, everything is nearby ...
the metro is a 2-minute walk, the most important places can be reached on foot.
The breakfasts are great, the rooms are great.
One important note, in no case do not buy excursions at the hotel, it is much more expensive, there is also a possibility that you will not get a refund if you refuse.
Very nice hotel, very nice, good breakfast, strong internet signal. Convenient location and a huge plus is the Jacuzzi in the room, I spent a great evening with my soulmate
The worst hotel I've been to. 0 stars, not 5. I cut my foot on a screw sticking out of the bed. The Jacuzzi turns on by itself and screams at the whole room. All the lights were turned off several times in the entire hotel. Boors work at the reception, they try to put you in a room of the category below. The breakfasts are meager. Children watch TV at the SPA. Don't live here.
There are no 5 stars. Maximum of 3.
The room is small. The Jacuzzi does not work, the TV did not work, the air conditioner blew warm and cold air. In January, the room temperature was +16. We slept under two blankets. The audibility in the rooms is such that you can clearly make out what the neighbors are talking about!
The SPA is already very shabby, however, as is the whole hotel. The dust in the locker rooms is age-old. Saunas and hammam are not even included by 17h.... they probably save money! They turned it on only when we asked..
A buffet breakfast without frills. The hotel restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m..... and that's it!
I put 3 only thanks to the friendly and smiling staff who were always ready to help! That would be 2!
