It's an amazing place. One of the best, clean and equipped in Abkhazia. There are even trash cans! The walking path is perfectly thought out, there are no heavy descents / ascents. On the territory of the cafe.
The path through the gorge passes through wooden and concrete bridges with handrails. It can be slippery in places. Preferably good shoes.
The whole way passes along incredible paths with stunning views, a light haze from the water gives a special atmosphere
The only negative is the so-called "wall of desires", a disgusting sight. They knit all sorts of things, bags, napkins, pads, even panties are hanging!!! People, stop!!!!
There are many similar gorges in the mountains, but everything is pretty well equipped here. There is a free toilet on the territory, many cafes. The price tag in the cafe is expensive, but you can have a snack. You can even walk along the trail with children, but be careful. We walked to the end of the equipped area. Then a real mountain trail begins, it is not clear where you will go further and what to expect from the mountains, we did not dare to go.
Chernihiv gorge is located in the Sukhumi district near the village of Agudzera. On the way to Chernihiv there is the Markhiaul mineral spring (L.P. Beria was born in the village of Markhiaul), where you can collect healing water, the properties of which are legendary. Chernihiv is a unique place in its beauty and atmosphere, where the Assir restaurant is located in the gorge, located on a wooden platform among waterfalls and boulders. In the restaurant you can order dishes of Caucasian cuisine or just a cup of delicious coffee, admiring the clear and transparent waters of the Machara river, which descends along its course through the entire territory.
At different heights from the bottom of the canyon through which the river flows, there are many wooden paths and observation decks to make it easier for visitors to enjoy the surrounding nature. River rapids create the impression of waterfalls as the water falls from different heights. You can climb the stone steps even higher and look at the entire complex from a height.
