A great place for leisurely walks in the fresh air. It's a very beautiful place. The old castle was restored very coolly. A good and interesting exposition of the museum. Classical music concerts are held within the walls of the castle
Trakai. I was still a child in 1982. I was impressed and remembered. Visited in 2018 after 36 years. But even after so many years, the impression does not dry up. A beautiful castle from a fairy tale. Each stone exudes a story. I want to dress up in knight's armor, feel the history on my shoulders and the smell of sweat from the weight of the knight's metal.
I looked at the photo of this wonderful castle with great pleasure and immediately remembered a wonderful trip, however, back in April 1972, "Kaunas - Trakai - Vilnius"!!! The castle is really wonderful, still pleasant unforgettable memories!!! It's just a pity that now there is not such a friendly attitude towards us, Russians, as in those days. And all the same , I wish everyone : be healthy and happy always ❣️😘
Resuscitation of an ancient architectural monument by the method of its restoration - is it good or not? When a handsome castle rises from the ruins to our contemporary's delight - is it so bad? Which is better then, closer to the notorious architectural truth - Old Ladoga and the man-made revival of the citadel, or the Koporye fortress, where almost everything is its own, not "built up" by late reconstructions? These two fortresses, by the way, are located in the Leningrad region. And who should and can restore what has been destroyed by time or man: private or public initiative, or the state? Trakai, his castle, began to be restored at the beginning of the 20th century by a caring person. An ordinary person. He saved the remnants of Lithuanian history from barbaric looting by local residents, because ruins are brick, wood, and other materials. Later, the state joined. And it saved the castle, a monument not just of architecture, but also of the general current of the historical development of the Lithuanian state...
I was there, but a very long time ago - about 50 years ago. Lithuanian Bronislava Yakutene showed it to me, a good person. The memories were the best. A very romantic place with beautiful views.
Was. But for a very long time - I haven't gone to school yet. But the impressions are fresh, as if it was yesterday. Maybe because they are from childhood, or maybe because it was the first castle (fortress) that I studied in such detail. I really want to visit again.
The castle is very beautiful, the exposition is cleverly and tastefully done. Friendly and polite female employees. Magnificent view of the castle in the evening from the side of the city. On the other side of the lake there is a playground overlooking the castle - a very beautiful view.
An interesting castle, as well as its history. Built on an island surrounded by water, for protection purposes, it became a center of trade and influence. Carefully restored, most of them were restored during the Soviet era, the buildings allow you to feel the bygone era. Very good expositions of things from that time. Collections of household items of the owners of the castle give an idea of that time. Related information is available on printed guides in each room. Time does not pass noticeably. In the courtyard of the castle, you will find an exciting active show with knight fights, in which you can also participate, do not forget to put on a helmet. And of course, at the bridge, be sure to buy the famous pies from grandma, very tasty and inexpensive.
It's a beautiful place. When you are in Vilnius, be sure to visit Trakai and Trakai Castle. It is close to Vilnius. A ticket from the bus station costs 2 euros one way.you can also buy from the driver.the bus runs frequently. But keep in mind that it is several kilometers in one direction from the car station to the castle
The castle is quite beautiful, the exposition inside is not very interesting, but you can learn about the history of the castle, because in each hall there is a description of it in Russian. In general, it does not differ much from the castles of the same Belarus
It's beautiful and interesting outside, you can take good photos. However, the exposition inside the museum is not particularly interesting.
There are many shops nearby, you can rent a boat and catamaran to swim around the castle.

A beautiful place, a beautiful castle. We flew over it in a hot air balloon - the beauty is incredible. The castle itself is also very interesting.
There are quite a lot of people inside and it's not particularly interesting, but the outside is beautiful and the atmosphere around it suits the castle perfectly.
