Kazakhstan- Uzbekistan, terrible pass pic, the worst I've ever seen anywhere. People walk for 18 hours, but we were lucky, they passed in 6 hours. The customs officer tried to get us to use the money, but he failed. All the things from the car had to be carried through the room for X-rays, and there were a lot of them (3 backpacks, 2 large bags, an auto cooler...). My wife almost died. They tore off 2,400 rubles for tinting, even though the glass was without film. On the way back, we got 3 fines for speeding. I was happy to pay, but the one who accepts the payment said that it would not be possible to do this with a discount, because the program does not work and will have to pay the full amount. I wanted to go back to Tashkent and pay at the bank, but they wouldn't let me out, and I didn't have enough soms in cash. They forced me to pay extra in Russian rubles at a very unfavorable exchange rate (they lowered the ruble exchange rate by 30%). In the end, the sum of the three fines reached 11,500 rubles. They didn't give me the check.
No more nudity in Uzbekistan.
Sincerely, Honest critic Albert Fatihovich.
In the evening (04/13/2025 at 6 a.m.) I was returning from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. I stayed in Kazakhstan for 2 days. For work. Kazakh customs officers are very rude. They speak Kazakh (which I don't understand). the passport is checked 10 times while passing through the customs post. At one of the passport check points, an employee in the Kazakhstan border guard uniform took my passport and asked about the purpose of my visit to Kazakhstan. To which I replied that I had a meeting with a business partner. He asked me to come with him. I followed him . He took me into a small room and asked me to take all the money out of my pockets (shmon). How I spent all the money I had (it's almost 1 million UZS and 700 US dollars. I was standing with my back to the door of a very small room. They opened the door, grabbed my jacket and closed the door, pinching my jacket, which made me immobile. While I was freeing myself (opened the door) The employee in the room took the US dollars and took advantage of the moment to take $ 200. and he quickly began demanding that I leave the premises and continue to follow the passage of the customs post. I left the room and visually showed that I was counting dollars and there were not enough of them. This employee rudely started demanding that I go towards the Uzbek customs. It 's a shame, of course, to just lose $200. but I don't know what would happen if I started arguing or demanding the presence of witnesses. (They could easily throw something illegal , etc. , etc.) That's why I'm writing here . maybe this employee will read about his achievements here. And it will be useful for you to know about the actions of the Kazakh customs officers. In general, the principle is this: they take you alone into the security room, asking you to put out all the money, (they take your money in their hands as if they want to count it) at this moment they distract your attention with something, quickly take several bills from your bundle of money. And they quickly demand that you leave the room and continue heading for the exit. All the best to everyone. I wanted to write to a government website about corruption and illegal actions of government officials. But the site requires registration and a Kazakh INN (which I don't have).
