We came to Abkhazia from Belarus for a vacation. According to the recommendations of our guide, we went to the Toastmaster and were pleasantly surprised. The premises of the institution are very neat and well ventilated, made in an oriental style, there are enough seats even for rather large companies. There is a toilet. The food from the wood-burning stove is very good, the local khachapuri (boats) are fragrant and, in my opinion, the best, since the yolk has never been brewed, the cheese stretches, the butter is fragrant, the dough is crispy. All the dishes are delicious with Abkhazian notes. Smoking is allowed.
Food is brought quickly, drinks are even faster. In general, I highly recommend it! I didn't have time to take a photo, the plates quickly became empty)

We had a rest in Sukhum in August 2024. We had dinner every day at the Tamada cafe (we lived nearby in the Amra guest house. I liked the cafe. It is clean enough, good service, very tasty local dishes, homemade wine and fragrant chacha.

It's a great place. I was brought by friends who already knew exactly the places in Sukhum where you can eat well and not get poisoned. The staff is excellent, as are the dishes served. The waiting time is very short. It was very tasty and satisfying. Feijoa lemonade is something!
Like many things in Sukhumi, payment here is only in cash. By the way, there is free Wi-Fi, which perfectly saves from roaming.

I often visit Abkhazia, this year I live in Sukhum, I discovered an amazing place: a combination of Abkhazian, moderate reception and excellent execution of all the dishes presented on the menu. Awful. Very long service-we were left alone in the hall, but the food was not brought for a long time, then the waiter apologetically says that there are a lot of orders in the kitchen))- gum is nervously smoking in the toilet. The food itself is absolutely tasteless-kharcho is just rice with peppered water, a boat with cheese-the dough is burnt black, the cucumber salad is old, and all the food is like that. The hall is stuffy, even though the cond is working. And for all this charm, they also charge 10% on top for the service. It's been a long time since we've been in such a mess, it's just terrible.

Today we decided to have a barbecue dinner, VERY VERY salty!!!!!! It's not that they didn't apologize to us, but they also made us look like liars, like no one complained all day. We were on a walk in Sukhumi and got hungry, we went to this cafe. After looking at the menu with affordable prices, we did not think that it would be so delicious. Dumplings and kebab, French fries with a cutlet, tangerine juice, everything is fresh and for five! I recommend it to all those who will be in Sukhum near the market.

The place is probably not bad, but the kitchen and service are not even up to 1 star. The waiters - two elderly women are clearly not coping, the service is sooooo slow. We took the menu and in 15 minutes they didn't come up to us, we caught the waitress at the next table - so we managed to make an order. After about 20 minutes, we asked to bring us at least drinks from our order right away. In the kitchen:
1. "Caesar" with "salmon" 300 gr. - a mountain of Peking cabbage together with a hard head, a tomato cut into 4 parts, a few crackers and fish (definitely not salmon!) externally, it looks like 20-30 grams of ketu with thin plates, a little cheese. I tried to stir, but there was nothing else inside the mountain of cabbage, I immediately refused this salad.
2. A frying pan with chicken, mushrooms and potatoes is a white fatty slurry, in which there are several small pieces of chicken and even smaller pieces of mushrooms (there is a photo in the review above), 6 slices of potatoes of the rustic type.
The bill immediately includes 10% of the receipt for "service"...not surprising)) for such a disgusting cuisine and service, hardly anyone wants to voluntarily leave a tip. If you immediately include tips in the bill, then at least you would teach the waiters the rules of service, at least serve drinks while waiting for dishes.

To be honest, we didn't like the place. We ordered a hot frying pan (chicken, mushrooms, cheese, cream) to taste very good, but they poured a lot of oil on top and it became simply impossible to eat. Beans with nuts of the island, overdone with coriander, also did not like it. The compote was available only from feijoa, it did not taste good. Well, vegetable salad is also a vegetable salad in Africa.
But the boat from the oven is just great, probably the most delicious of those that we tried here. The service is fast, the waitress is not too friendly
In general, the impression is twofold, the prices are acceptable, the atmosphere is pleasant, but the kitchen is not impressed

I still don't understand, is there a cafe or a canteen? Or two joint establishments with the same prices? In the canteen, the price tag is too high according to expectations. Khachapur boat is smaller than in other places, but more expensive. Although the food is good, but the look of the place is not very good. We sat down on the street... They were stupid... There is a terrible smell of rotten vegetables and sour watermelons from the market. I had to eat faster to leave as soon as possible.

I didn't really like the food - the egg boat is delicious only because hot yeast dough can't be tasteless, but cheese with an incomprehensible taste that can be mistaken for raw dough.
The local soup was served with stringy meat - it is impossible to eat.

BUT, as everywhere in Abkhazia, behind the smiles and fake goodwill, hatred and malice towards all strangers are visible. While eating with the children, I watched the scene, as a man who did not see that on the menu, it is written in small print that the bill automatically includes a mark-up for service, tried to challenge the mark-up - he was publicly insulted and threatened in the hall, and with all this with an admixture of "you Russians are completely fucked up." Sadly. And so it is almost everywhere in Abkhazia - there is 0 service - but everywhere they require money.

Payment is only in cash, the prices are average. Curiously, the main part of the cafe is located in a rather gloomy room, which still needs to be reached along a long corridor from the street, or treated next to the roadway on shaky tables.

I recommend it 100%!We lived in Sukhum, the cafe is located right next to the market.They cook very tasty, the locals go there to relax and eat..therefore, the cafe is not expensive.And what delicious khachapuri boats are there, you can swallow your tongue.Huge in size, there is a lot of cheese and it costs only 130r .. in new Athos, for example, a small boat 250r..the portions are large and everything is very tasty..I recommend it!

We were at the Toastmaster on November 10 for lunch. We came here based on reviews on Yandex. In general, what can I say - the food is delicious, we ordered kebabs, meat with eggplant (the menu calls the Dish from the Toastmaster), khachapuri boats. I will not say that it is just super delicious - the kebab is not very juicy, the eggplants were over-salted. The boats are really delicious. A glass of homemade dry wine is only 50 rubles. Of the minuses, the girls who take the order are a little habalistic, and even carry food in jackets. I understand that it's cold, but it's unusual to see such unsanitary conditions. At the same time, 10% of the service fee will be included in the bill. You can go once, but we won't go again. Our bill for three turned out to be 1600 rubles + 160 rubles for service
