1761-66
A hundred years ago, in Prokudin-Gorsky's photo, the same place looked like this
The monastery was founded in the 1650s by the Orthodox Epiphany Brotherhood - similar associations, supported by Orthodox merchants, formed in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth immediately after the Union of Brest.
It was originally built in the "Sarmatian" style, and received a dome and wide windows in the 19th century.
The heads were gilded quite recently, and without gilding, in my opinion, it looked much better.
The Epiphany Monastery is located on a quiet street in the city center, several museums and monuments are located nearby. The monastery itself is bright and sincere. I recommend a visit.
