The Soviet-type station was built in a deserted Kazakh district in the 60s of the last century. The Stepnogorsk Railway is attractive for its rolling stock fleet, where old ER22 electric trains (relatively clean both outside and inside) still transport people.

The only place of its kind where the very first Japanese electric trains still operate. They are popularly called "motani". Their former brethren have long been displayed in the train museum in Japan.
