Before the outbreak of hostilities in 2014, the railway station had direct railway connections with Kiev, Kharkiv, Minsk, Sumy, Donetsk, Lugansk, Mariupol, Belgorod, Kursk, Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in summer with Simferopol and the regional centers of Siberia, Ufa, Kazan. The station itself is not large, but there was a round-the-clock long-distance railway ticket office, a buffet cafe "Ogonek" functioned in the station building.
