We have chosen one of the best Shangri-La Hambantota 5-star hotels.
How well maintained, clean, and cozy the hotel is. How smiling, good-natured and pleasant people work there.
Peacocks and monitor lizards walked on the territory, and even monkeys were seen outside the territory.
From entertainment and leisure: there is a spa, a hall for meditation or relaxation, a game room for adults and children, a gym, 3 beautiful pools (one for children with slides, the second shared with a mini waterfall, the third infinity pool with a wonderful view of the ocean for gorgeous photos.
Food: there has always been a variety - from spicy traditional dishes to vegetarian, soups, meat,salads, seafood: squid, shrimp,fish, crabs were served.
In the morning, 4 types of drinks were served, in the evening they were given water from drinks and traditional tea with spices.
Desserts are simply divine, like a sweet tooth -I know what I'm talking about.
There were also 6 types of ice cream with different fillings every dinner.
The hotel staff often wrote in Whatsapp to see if everything was fine, what could be fixed, and the issues that arose were resolved quickly.
The room had an iron, ironing board, dryer, hair dryer, many jars of shampoo, balm, brush, hair band and toothpaste, flip-flops, bathrobes, safe.
They have European sockets, but there is a switch there that you can connect ours.
The room was cleaned 2 times a day, towels of 3 types were changed as needed.
Everything is clean and brand new.
The only small disadvantage is entering the ocean.
The beach was clean, there were even sun beds, but swimming was forbidden. The wave can pull you back.
But this was not a problem either. Based on the reviews, we found a cool guy on tuk-tuk +94776996805. He took us to 3 beaches, on one of them we swam with turtles, fed them by hand and enjoyed the beautiful views.
The excursions were taken from the guide, we did not take risks so where, everything went fine, 2 days of gorgeous emotions and impressions (Ella+Sigiriya).
The nearest shops from the hotel are somewhere 500-700 m away, you can write to a tuk-tuker and he will come and take you where you need to go.
Whoever came from tourists from other hotels admired ours.
We took a view of the garden-it was amazing, there was a golf course, a pond and a lake.
The territory was constantly cleaned, lawns were mowed and so on, they take great care to make it clean and cozy for vacationers.
In general, the rest was a success, we rested like queens.

Pros: Very green area of the hotel. A pleasant landscape. Many birds and animals can be found on the territory of the hotel itself: herons, parrots, peacocks, chipmunks, jerboa, hares, monitor lizards, monkeys... the friendly staff. There are three swimming pools on the territory: a small adult, a shared pool and a children's pool with a good play area (slides, fountains, etc.)
. There is a children's room where you can always leave your child to play. The kitchen is for an amateur, but, in general, it is normal.
Cons:
The most important thing is that the staff is VERY slow! This is especially true for bars and restaurants. Orders have to be repeated several times, and mistakes are often made. Service time from 30 minutes and above. Our record (zone on the 2nd floor) is 1.5 hours for 5 fried egg breakfasts!!! 🤦♂️😂
A bed change in the room will only happen if you ask for it yourself. But they clean well.
The waves... This, of course, is not a negative. But just keep in mind, if you expect to swim in the ocean, that it will not be a calm beach with complete calm. In general, it's the same as everywhere else in Sri Lanka.
Overall, the hotel is very good. But you should not expect the level of organization and service of 5-star hotels in the UAE and Turkey here. Just relax and get high that you're on vacation! 🏝☀️
