In general, the hotel justifies its stars. The staff tries to go to the meeting. There were some nuances that were not immediately resolved, but later the hotel met them halfway. Here we need to talk more about the island itself, since the hotel in the Maldives is secondary, you spend a minimum of time there. If you are flying to a local island, first of all it is the island itself, so that there is somewhere to go, there are places pleasing to the eye. For the first two days we were in some kind of shock, as it was pouring with long rains. There were no people on the island at all, puddles were knee-deep and there was no way around them, there were a maximum of 15 tourists in the hotel, who were also not noticeable. There was no music playing anywhere, complete silence, and intermittent services in the mosque could be heard all over the island. we walked a little along the shore, everything is gray, 50 meters from the shore there are stone embankments blocking the view of the ocean, the island itself is complete ruin and garbage, dinner in the nearest cafe was not edible, we were sitting alone, not a soul nearby and at least someone would walk. There was a sense of the apocalypse. It was completely dark, no lanterns, they illuminated it with a phone flashlight. I started sending messages to the tour operator to move to another island.... But ... after a couple of days ... the people came, the locals began to turn on music in the evenings, the sun appeared - everything began to play with colors, we explored the entire island and found three locations pleasing to the eye. We tasted the food in different cafes and chose a couple of places for ourselves where we had a snack and drank a snack for smoothies and cocktails. The hotel took only breakfast, because on vacation you always want to try something other than hotel food, sit at dinner with an ocean view (there is no such opportunity in the hotel and the food is ordinary, not tasty). I want to note for those who are used to having a late breakfast. Breakfast at the hotel is until 9:30, in Moscow it is 7:30, my body categorically refused to eat at this time, considering that in Moscow I have breakfast at 12. Therefore, it is better to take lunches or dinners. About locations. This is definitely a spit, the purest water, snow-white sand, a crazy view, but it takes half an hour to walk from the hotel through all the devastation.
There is a small island connected by a bridge, from there it is interesting to watch surfers.
Well, the stone plaque as a result turned out to be an excellent alternative to reefs. On the other side of the embankment there is a diverse underwater world.
There is a Coca Cola factory on the island. We went on a guided tour, though only in English, and in the end we received a free can of Cola.
Be sure to go to some resort for one day to feel the difference. For me, at the resort, by the end of the day, when you run around the whole island, you try everything - it's boring and the prices for all services are 3-5 times more expensive. I prefer to go to the local and take different excursions from there, and then in the end, when I've been everywhere, I can go to the local for a day or two, no more.
In general, we were satisfied with the trip. We also liked the island and the locals.
