The Church of St. Ignace is located near the Pantheon. We didn't plan on visiting it on purpose, but we stopped by the Pantheon on the way... And we saw a queue of tourists who were standing horizontally, with a large rectangular mirror installed with a tilt. Why were you standing there? - And in order to take a selfie against the background of the painted vault! The author of the murals of the vault of the central nave is the artist, mathematician, sculptor Andrea Pozzo. The length of the church is 81 meters and the width is 43 meters. Although the fresco "only" decorates the central nave, its area is
exceeds 2000 square meters. It is made on a flat ceiling, but due to the voluminous, almost 3D painting, the ceiling seems vaulted. This is something incredible. We sat on a bench under the pseudo-dome, created by a genius craftsman who was ahead of his time, and looked at the murals of the vault for a long time. Despite the fact that we are already fed up with Roman churches because of their huge number, we will remember visiting THIS church for a long time!
