Great hotel!
It does not look like an anthill, while quite a lot of people are constantly waiting in line for settlement.
There is always a lot of food, varied and delicious.
The cleaning is good. Sometimes it's true after lunch.
The bar is replenished every day.
At our request, we changed the room with a large bed.
They take you to the sea by electric car or you can walk for 5-7 minutes. The beach is cleaned every day. The sea is not deep, it is clean.
Noses and agoutis are running around in the thickets on the territory.
We stayed at the hotel from December 8 to December 18, 2021. The hotel is great, we liked absolutely everything! A beautiful well-groomed area, which I really liked, is the abundance of vegetation, a very green area. The staff is friendly, everything is clean and cozy, they try to create maximum comfort. There are a lot of restaurants and bars, especially the restaurant on the beach! The food is varied and delicious. 5 pools! The beach is great, before the trip I was worried about the lack of umbrellas on the beach, but it turned out that the presence of palm trees in large numbers more than compensated for this absence)) The ocean at that time was clean and very beautiful. Pelican fishing brought a certain zest! this is something incredible, they dive from above into the water, often right between the swimmers, catch a fish and immediately swallow it. The hotel is on line 2, but it's a pleasure to go to the ocean along a shady alley, monkeys were often seen in the trees very close by. So, if you want to relax in Mexico, feel free to go to the Rio Tequila hotel!!! Of the disadvantages, I can only name a weak animation, it is there, but uninteresting, both in the afternoon and in the evening. I liked only live music in the evenings. I didn't want to leave at all, the hotel was a real pleasure, the rest was a success!
Nice hotel. Clean rooms, delicious and varied food. The territory is large with local wildlife: iguanas, birds, agouti, coati, etc. The beach is good. The only thing someone might not like is that the beach is across the street, but it's in the form of a pedestrian crossing. It was a pleasure to walk to the beach. In addition, there is a golf cart for 8-10 people to the beach, for those who do not like to walk. Mexicans are very pleasant and polite. We really liked Mexico!
Everything is cool, Minus one - there are no umbrellas on the beach. But the Caribbean is the Caribbean + for the hotel staff to work with such dedication - I have never seen this anywhere else. I want to go to Mexico again!
Exactly 2 years later, I rested again in this hotel - everything is sharpened for guests, There are three more hotels nearby - you can use all their infrastructure. I honestly did not expect such compliance with the anti-smoking regulations: everything is sterile, sanitizers at every step, the mask regime is strict only in restaurants and bars when choosing food and drinks. But the regime is respected by everyone! A 1.5-2m social station is also available, and everywhere: not only in the hotel area, which is guarded, but also in the shops in the city. I was amazed.
To enter Mexico, you need to fill out only 2 documents: an electronic visa, a health passport and everything - no vaccination, no PCR tests. I recommend visiting Xcaret Park - flamingos, sharks, turtles, parrots, butterflies, swimming in underground caves - it's unforgettable!
Good day everyone!
It was our honeymoon. Everything went just fine)
Location: Tequila is part of a group of hotels where you can walk around. Services in other hotels in connection with covid are provided only on the beach (read the bar). If your agent says that you can swim and use the entire infrastructure of the hotels, then this is not the case.
The hotel itself is located in a very safe area - the street is closed from third-party car traffic - when passing, they inspect the trunk of the car and look at the bracelets.
The territory itself - the territory of two hotels was enough for us, and we did not go around everything. Everything is very clean and tidy. There are staff everywhere, constantly monitoring order and cleanliness.
Meal.
I'm not pretentious about food, everything was very tasty and satisfying. The dishes are mostly European, you can also try the national cuisine. A wide variety of fruits and desserts. You will definitely not stay hungry.
Drinks.
Alcohol:
There is a refrigerator in the room, they are periodically updated (sometimes on request), but without a long wait.
In the main restaurant (buffet) - only beer
In other bars, they will pour whatever you ask for
For those who are not ready to give up cappuccino or latte even in the heat. I recommend the sports bar (next to the main restaurant) the guys have a good coffee machine. For Starbucks fans, it takes 3 minutes to walk to it))
Sea
Yes, there are algae in August. It didn't bother us, they're mostly near the shore. The territory is closely monitored and cleaned daily. There are rescuers. There are no umbrellas on the shore, as in a hotel by the pools, but palm trees perfectly fulfill their role.
Entertainment at the hotel
We spent most of our time at the pools and the bar. However, there are yoga classes and sports grounds for everyone. Instructors actively invite everyone.
Evening programs - Various teams perform on a daily basis in the main lobby. Various competitions are held, national songs are sung, there are also instrumental orchestras, parodies of Michael Jackson and so on.
You won't be able to dance because of covid, the hall is closed. Billiards is also not available.
Where to go/go
Tourists are offered a wide range of entertainment from tour operators and third-party companies.
I'll tell you about my vision and what we visited.
Maxima is amazing not only with cenotes, but also with stunning parks. It doesn't matter if you have a child or if you are vacationing in pairs. I recommend visiting at least one of the parks.
Our choice fell on Shelkha Park. This place is located in a bay (clean water and no algae), the amount of entertainment allows you to have a good time. The park itself differs from the others in that it functions as a natural water park. All parks have free and paid services. It is worth reading them carefully before the trip, so as not to get upset later.
Free of charge:
Fish watching (if you can take your mask, be sure to take it). In those that give out extremely inconvenient. They also give out tubes and flippers. Please note that in all parks where there are reservoirs and cenotes, you will swim in vests. This adds a little discomfort, but the Mexicans are watching for compliance with these rules.
Swimming laps -inside the park there is a special route on laps (there are single and double ones), very cool and quite long.
Hiking - after swimming, you can leave your belongings in a drawer and walk along narrow concrete paths, observe the flora and fauna, take pictures and see the cenotes.
The slide for descent is for those who like to tickle their nerves.
Food and drinks are included in the price. Buffet and bars.
Paid: high-speed boat, scuba diving, and a bunch of other things that we haven't visited)
Historical excursions.
We visited Chichen Itsu, Tulum, Cenote Ik Kil, Paraiso Cliff. - this is a day trip. There are fewer impressions than from the park. Since you visit several sites during the day, at noon it becomes unbearable to look at the remains of ancient cities in the heat. In some areas, for example in Chichen Itsu and the rather long Tulum checkpoint, you must wear a mask. And this is also being monitored. You can remove the mask only for photos. The cenote was amazing- being on the water strictly in a vest. The impression remained blurred due to the heat.
About any trips. Shortly before the flight, I found reviews about the sambreero tour. This is a third-party company that organizes trips. We liked everything, the guys were cool, the guide was great, and the cost was also attracted (slightly lower than Anex's, the cost varies from 30-60 dollars for two).
Souvenirs/ 5th Avenue/ alcohol
Alcohol, food - from the areas closest to you - this is a supermarket at the exit from the street (you can walk / you can take a taxi for $ 6). A large selection of tequila and wine. We took sauces for friends and recommend grabbing liquid vanilla.
Souvenirs- to the left of the hotel, there will be souvenir shops and an exchange office within a minute's walk (do not forget your passport) there is little authentic, a lot of goods from China, not very good quality. But in general, the prices are much lower and you can definitely find what you like. A large selection of silver with local stones, textile handbags made by Mexicans, a large selection of leather from afar (but more souvenirs, not for everyday wear), an insane amount of magnets, sambreeros and skulls. In short, you'll figure it out))
Regarding alcohol, there are no miniatures in the supermarket, the minimum volume is 0.65 , and prices in souvenir shops for miniatures are like for a full bottle of tequila.
5th Avenue - I was very surprised. The street is huge, you can spend the whole day on it. You will be greeted by a huge shopping center with the usual clothing stores (woman secret and others), followed by souvenirs and bars of different price categories. Music is playing everywhere, there are street dancers. The police are present and it was in this place that I felt that "my police are taking care of me" (no kidding). Since the whole street is designed for the tourist flow, do not look for local flavor and low prices on it.
My tips for travelers who want to save money:
If you plan to visit parks and cenotes, be sure to take moisture-proof phone cases, otherwise you will be left without good pictures. You can buy it on the spot, but not everywhere and it is more expensive.
For fans of swimming laps, I recommend buying laps in advance and taking them with you.
Buy water at the airport, not at the very last moment on boarding (a bottle of 0.7 will cost about 500 rubles.
Tips for travelers who will fly on connecting flights like us. Anex operator has one Azur carrier - for two flights, we never took off on time. Therefore, I recommend taking tickets within the country at least with a margin of 6 hours.
The food is good and quite varied. The staff is polite, they even learned a few Russian phrases especially for us, but that's because we always left tips. The territory is large, plus if you really want to, you can relax on the territory of neighboring hotels of this chain. The rooms are clean and not cleaned, however, keep in mind that in some rooms there is a glass door to the shower, this may be an inconvenience. There is a fairly large shallow water area on the beach, it is probably convenient with children.
Everything is fine! I was in Mexico 1 time. The climate is mild and humid. The hotel is small and cozy. The rooms are lovely and large. Clear. The staff is friendly and courteous. They don't speak Russian, but they understand what they want from them. It is 800 meters to the sea. It didn't bother me. The beach is cleaned regularly. Cleanliness, order. The sea is simply gorgeous.
Great hotel. There are always algae on the sea, but they are removed from the shore. Pleasant and friendly staff. Feeding 5 out of 5. There are many pools and there are always places on the sun beds. If anyone can get there, I recommend it.
Great hotel! The staff is friendly. The territory is large and beautiful. The food is very good. There are different shows every evening, the program is not repeated. Agoutis and noses run freely around the territory.
Super, super and super again!!!! We were on a honeymoon. I liked everything from exotic nature, animals, the sea and the beach to a variety of seafood, snacks, desserts, drinks and fruits!!! An incendiary show in the evenings. The staff is polite and friendly.
I was vacationing at this hotel with my wife, the territory is just huge, a lot of animals, flies and some other animal, resembles a fat otter, there are alakart restaurants: Japanese, steakhouse, Italian, in my opinion, and the main restaurant has always been delicious, a lot of seafood. The drinks are good, the most important thing is that when you approach the bar, there is elite alcohol behind the bartender, and he pours local, so ask for whiskey and point at Jack, he will pour it completely free.
A solid world four. The service is 5*, the kitchen is excellent, the grounds and pools are clean all the time. The restaurant, bars and service on the beach are excellent. The only difference from the pre-pandemic time is that there is no dispenser in the rooms.
The food is super, the staff is too, the territory is large, a beautiful passage to the sea, drinks for 3+, which is probably not bad for everything. From the minus, only algae, but they are removed and it is not the fault of the hotel.
The hotel is located on a large fenced area in Playa del Carmen. There is a security checkpoint at the entrance, documents and cars are checked, everyone is not allowed in. The most luxurious hotels, including Tequila, are located on the territory itself. The hotel is large, well-maintained, there are several themed restaurants for dinner, change daily, evening program, two swimming pools, one of them with a bar, all inclusive, including alcohol. The rooms are spacious and well cleaned. The food is delicious. This hotel does not have a beach, but there are two more hotels of the same chain across the street, which you can enter with a Tequila bracelet, they already have beaches. According to the bracelets, you can take drinks and food in these hotels, go to dinners, it turns out that you bought accommodation in one hotel, but received three at once!
It's not so beautiful outside the closed territory in the city itself, but the shopping center and the port right next to it are cool. You can write a separate review about Mexico itself, but if you are considering this hotel, you will not regret it! A great vacation!
The kitchen is A BOMB! And the best is the main restaurant of the hotel! We've tried everything.
The location is on the second line, as it were. But it's so nice to walk… Squirrels, pigeons, noses, kittens! Just because of these animals, I would come to RioTekila one more time!
A chic hotel, excellent service, clean and cozy rooms. There is a convenient "green" path to the sea. There is a very good animation in the evenings. We really liked everything!
Great hotel! The buffet is awesome! Cleaning is done a little strangely - it is better to leave a tip, otherwise they may "forget" to clean up or clean up for show. Interesting animation!
Of the vacationers - mostly Americans and Russians.
The beach is good, it is cleaned of algae regularly.
Drinks in bars for every taste!
A large well-maintained area, a good Mexican restaurant. The bar makes good cocktails. There are few Russians. Not the most convenient location. It's a long way to the sea.
I really liked the hotel, the food, the rooms, the animals on the territory, the pools are clean. In general, my wife and I did not regret a drop. The distance from the beach is about 300 meters, but on the one hand it is a plus when you walk along a shady alley to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
The hotel is for those who like to eat and splash in the chlorinated pool. There is a lot of food and it is different. It is possible to eat around the clock. There are several restaurants, as well as access to the neighboring hotels of the chain.
$1,000 was stolen from our safe. Yes, the safe was closed. Does the hotel have any advantages? Undoubtedly, but no advantages can block the theft. The worst thing is that the hotel staff refused to resolve our issue in any way. And the next day they rummaged through our things (not in the safe) again, fortunately there was nothing left to take. From this I conclude that even basic work was not carried out with the staff.
A good restaurant, for an a la carte hotel system. Delicious, good choice. I recommend you to visit. We didn't sign up in advance, we just came to the opening and there was always an empty seat.
Very good location, friendly staff, the rooms are clean and cozy. The kitchen is gorgeous, everything is very tasty. There was an abundance of everything on the buffet: meat of several varieties, seafood, fish of three types, fruits: kiwi, mango, pineapple, papaya, strawberries, melon, watermelons, etc. Well-groomed and clean territory, there are noses, iguanas and other animals walking around the territory. We saw an owl, a woodpecker. The sea is 2 lines, but walking quickly and easily along a beautiful alley, there is also a golf cart that can take you to the beach. The beach is white sand, there are always free sun beds. The sea was a little stormy, but it was a plus, you could swim on the waves and jump. The minus of the sea is algae that washes up to the shore, but there were not many of them and they were not nasty, the algae were often cleaned.
I liked everything, I recommend it.
We were at Christmas 2019 and NG 2020. The hotel itself is a former 4-star hotel. We added a pool and it became 5.
Positive:
- quite a good meal - for 4 out of 5, and that's because I'm very picky. For most, it will be 5 out of 5
-for those who drink there will be a pleasant bonus - dispensers with rum, vodka, whiskey and gin right in the room, as well as a full refrigerator of beer and drinks.
- you can bring anything to the room - alcohol or food
- a 24-hour bar where you can also have a snack with fast food and fruits
- party atmosphere. Who's going to dance? You're going to love it here.
- quite good rooms with balconies. The rooms are spacious and have high ceilings.
- transfer to the sea every 15 minutes, the beach with its own sun beds.
- quite a normal quality alcohol. I've never tasted a mojito like this anywhere else.
Minuses:
- QUEUES. for a gala dinner, and sometimes not only you need to sign up and to do this you need to stand in line for an hour. Electronic registration? They don't know about it here
- there is no hotel website where all events are scheduled and online registration for them is organized.
- not the most friendly staff. Once he burned down so that he could only wear a tank top. As a result, they were not allowed to attend the gala dinner (any dinner here is a dress code), I had to choke on fast food.
- everyone speaks very poorly, even in English, do not rely on Russian at all.
- the rooms are poorly designed because of this, the slamming of doors is very audible. Quietly closing the doors will not work in principle.
- a pool with chlorinated water. for pool lovers, this will be a minus.
BOTTOM LINE:
the second line is very good. All these disadvantages can be overcome. Yes, it's unpleasant to stand in line, but I think that all this is temporary and the Mexicans will bother to get to a normal site (the one that has this advertisement is no more)
the sea is gorgeous. Fine sand, waves do not want to leave the water at all. By the way, you can eat at the restaurant on the beach - this is also included.
In general, I have pleasant memories.
Tip - take the room away from the central module - otherwise you will listen to the disco until 2))).
Great hotel! Super nutrition! Super rooms! Be prepared to walk a lot to the beach))) it didn't bother us)))
You can get there, but you need to catch the car)))
I want to leave my feedback, because the previous ones helped me with choosing a hotel. By analogy, according to paragraph
1. We flew through sanmar, the airline royalFlight. Early booking for 72 hours was only paid. It's not worth it. Seats at emergency exits and 1 row outside the armor area. I booked for 6.t.rub.2 places on the 7th row - it's cramped, it's not worth the money. We flew back in a row, In the middle, much more comfortable.
p. 2 the hotel is super. Comfortable, green area with animals)), delicious food, 3 ala cards without an appointment, etc. The menu (it can be found at the entrance to the restaurant, in Russian!! The language. The main restaurant has a varied menu, which will be served in a week)) because we don't eat like that at home, so don't sin, there's something to eat)+ 1 Mexican restaurant on order (the most delicious dish is fried beef "medium") . Lovers of sleeping on the shore can have lunch at the Yucatan hotel restaurant, but we returned to our own, there was a conde and after that we went to sleep)). The path to the sea in the shade and under the rotundas, if you are too lazy to go, a small train will take you, everything is very comfortable. The sea of Schezlong, the shadow is created by palm trees specially planted. Naturally, the sun is moving and everyone is moving the deck chairs as best they can, there were no problems for me. A protective cream is required, 50, an aerosol is better. Take a mosquito repellent, despite the treatment of the corridors, we were flown in periodically ((. Take the adapters from the American outlet to ours. I recommend the hotel to everyone. The staff is very good. Friendly, professional, but understands only English.. Or sign language))
Item 3 of the sea. At first it was transparent, with waves, then the wind changed and the sand was all churned up, algae washed up, but it's not sargas, it doesn't stink, but it's not pleasant.. So if you're lucky. There are no fish.
Item 4 of the tour. I was at the "6 in one" and in Shekaret Park, everything is fine. I recommend it, otherwise it's better to go to Turkey for a beach vacation. I took excursions through meksikatur. Ru. You can also use Yuri Shchepkin (find the inf in VK). These are Russian guides, everything is safe, civilized and much cheaper. Do not believe the guides who intimidate you.
Item 5. Souvenirs. Cheap alcohol is available at the Walmart supermarket, but this is Auchan, not everything is locally produced there. Shops near the hotel on the left. Expensive. I bought souvenirs at the beginning of 5th Avenue Playa del Carmen, 30 min. Walking distance from the hotel.. I liked the rest, the weather was comfortable in mid-February, 28 in the afternoon, 20 at night. There was no rain, clouds were coming))
A great hotel, for not picky people. The food is monotonous in principle , but you will not stay hungry . The hotel is on the second line to the beach or 5 minutes on foot.
The second line is cleaner and better than the first, five minutes to the sea slowly or by typewriter from the reception for a minute, everything else is fine
Great hotel, service, food, infrastructure, I really liked everything. You will have to walk to the beach or wait for the shuttle, which is in line.
The only negative is that the attitude towards Russians is not as welcoming as towards foreigners, but this is not news)
I really liked it! I have rested in many places and there is something to compare it with . The hotel is located on the second line, but you don't notice it, as you walk along a green alley and come to a beautiful white beach. You can use the pools and bars that are located on the beach! Noses are crazy animals, very friendly. Nearby there are shops where you can bargain and buy whatever your heart desires. For $7, you can drive to 5th Avenue and leave from there for THAT amount.

Great hotel, I recommend it! Friendly staff, great restaurants, lots of pools, good location!
I really liked the hotel! Location, territory, room, staff attitude, service: everything is at the highest level! Nutrition is just aerobatics! Thank you all very much! I'm in love with Mexico and I want to come back!!!!
We are staying at this hotel for the third time, and our impressions remain unchanged. Very nice hotel, nature, food and sea, everything is at a high level. We will definitely come again.
A pleasant place. A varied diet. Convenient location on a closed territory of cottages. The beach is 10 minutes away along a path in the shade. Interesting animals live on the territory.
If there were still stars in the rating, then I would definitely put it. This is a very good hotel, and I have something to compare it with. Of course, the hotel has a lot to work on and it is remote from the sea and stands on the second line.
