The beach is gorgeous) warning about the Anex tour, do not go to a meeting with them, all the information on your flight will be in the folder on the ground floor the day before departure, there is also a hotel guide's room as a last resort, but spending 2.5 hours listening to nonsense is a nightmare, it starts with intimidation and telling lies about others guides, they sell bad excursions at exorbitant prices: everyone who went with them then spat! And their tour is free for rum, it's a nightmare: they serve rum without excise duty and with crookedly pasted labels! This is Oliver rum, Makorix rum costs with excise duty and even labels, so the big question is whether they sell burnt rum there. In general, it is better to contact alexdominicana or Dominicana pro. Excellent service and rooms,good Internet everywhere,delicious cuisine,positive locals,a large heated outdoor pool, as well as a full-fledged small casino for the nostalgic.It's a rare case when you want to come back.
Among the disadvantages, there are a large number of "Tagil" from the USA and Canada, which are worse than ours, not that in Turkey, but perhaps even in Anapa.

We visited this hotel in May 2019. The hotel is large, beautiful, clean.The food is just great, the service in the dining room is also good, which can not be said about the service by the pool! The animation is incomparable-a group of dancers at a height, well done guys! The beach is very cool, the palm trees on the beach are super, you don't need umbrellas, the ocean is something-just paradise)) Our room was spacious, the bar in the room with three bottles of rum (with dispensers) is just a bomb, there are also two cans of beer, Coca-Cola and water in the refrigerator. Excursions are expensive, but they are worth it, I recommend not to take them from the hotel guides (expensive) and in the company,, two bananas,, are generally satisfied with the rest.We had a vacation in the Dominican Republic 2 times!👍🌊🌴

The All inclusive. 4* hotel. Affordable, but with good, even wonderful cuisine. The food is more like European and even closer to our usual Russian cuisine. For both children and adults, you can find the usual food. Fruits depend on the ripening season, but in February there are watermelon, melon, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, etc. Always fish, meat and pork and beef, pizza, pasta, vegetables and sliced and in salads, olives, etc., etc.. always freshly squeezed juices of about 7 types and mixtures, including vegetables! Alcohol in the form of two types of local Rum, Vodka (it would be a mistake to expect that the rum was imported in the Dominican Republic) right in every room. There are cocktails and alcohol in the bars from 10 am. Not to say that the hotel is very different from the entire service in the Dominican Republic. Very convenient location - a 30-minute drive from Punta Cana airport. It is convenient to go on excursions to the Caribbean, fishing. The diving center is right on site. We are staying at this hotel for the second year in a row. I really like it.

An ordinary hotel. There is everything you need. The food is quite normal. The rooms are a bit shabby, there are no slippers in the rooms, hair balm, the pool has very muddy water, which is not available in other Riu (we walked through all the nearby ones), mosquitoes in the evening.
The ocean with the beach is super, a decent water park, considering that it is at the hotel. The territory of the hotel is small, very well maintained. Daily room cleaning, if something did not work, was corrected within 10 minutes upon first request.

Of the nuances, I can note the lack of tubes in the hotel (environmental protection, etc.), but many cocktails and juices are not clear how to use, because they consist of small pieces of ice, and the wooden sticks that lie there are not good for anything. I would also like a more fun animation program in the daytime, more contests.Perhaps we were out of season, because we did not notice the games in the pool and other entertainment at 4 p.m., except for monotonous dance lessons and sports activities (aerobics and yoga)

We had a rest at the end of November 2017. Before that, I had a vacation only in Sochi, so there's not much to compare it with. Highlights:
1. The staff is friendly and sociable. They know a little Russian, but they still prefer Spanish. It is not so difficult to download an offline translator in advance. But keep in mind that the Dominicans are a slow-moving people. That's the mentality.
2. No one requires tips, but they are welcome.
3. Wi-Fi is free, it catches in the lobby, cafe and in the far part of the pool. Even taking into account the fact that a lot of people are always connected - the speed is "enough".
4. There is TV in the rooms, most of the channels are in English. Three channels in Russian.
5. The in-room safe is free of charge.
6. The sockets are universal, so you do not need to buy an adapter. The rooms also have air conditioning (which sometimes makes it really cold) and a hairdryer. If it gets cold, you can ask for a blanket at the reception - they will bring it without any problems.
7. Rooms are cleaned every day. However, the cleaning time varies depending on the distance from the elevator. The farthest rooms are cleaned at about 13-14 o'clock (just during lunch). The refrigerator is refilled every two days (water, pepsi and beer). The minibar with four varieties of rum is free, replenished as the bottles are emptied.
8. The distance from the beach is even on hand. It is absolutely not difficult to go through the extra 2-3 minutes. At the same time, you pass a number of souvenir shops. Prices, of course, are too high. However, no one forbids haggling. Sellers are not particularly intrusive, so as not to get (and not offend them), it's easier to say "No cash" (No cash).
9. Animation on site consists of yoga, darts, water polo, water gymnastics, dancing. Animators are not intrusive, they invite you to animation in an entertaining form and work it out 100 percent.
10. You will not stay hungry, because in the intervals between breakfast, lunch and dinner, snack bars are open, where you can always have a snack.
11. There are three bars: at the lobby (evening), by the pool (from morning to night) and on the beach (daytime). There are enough drinks for everyone: tea/coffee, juices, soda, cocktails, beer and spirits.
12. There is a water park next to the hotel. There are about 7 types of different slides. There is also a day bar on site.
13. The beach is clean, cleaned every morning. There are always free sun beds (the main thing is not to forget the towels at the hotel). Sellers of consumer goods are not intrusive. All means of transportation by water (which do not need fuel) can be rented free of charge there.
14. Excursions can be taken either through your guide or in the hotel lobby. There is also a Russian service Republica.pro ready to offer walks and excursions at significantly low prices (compared to others).
15. Drivers drive relatively dangerously. Almost always in the far light. If you see three people on the highway riding on the same scooter at a meeting, don't be surprised.

In general, everything is great.
But there were nuances.
Karaoke has very old songs and mostly Mikhail Krug and others like that, it wouldn't be bad to update, we didn't find anything to sing. The food was generally good, the first 4 days were great, then it got a little worse. There were 3 bottles in my room for a place of 4 bottles for the whole vacation, and in the last two days there were 2 left at all.
Both beds were slightly broken, a leg was broken on one side in the center. As a result, the bed was as if it had fallen through on one side, with 2 beds and both broken in the same way.
Animation was also missing. It's not enough somehow.
The vacation was still a success, but 5 stars will not come out according to the review.
In general, everything is fine, but on our next trip to the Dominican Republic we will consider another hotel. Not picky, but still I would like a little better. And so 3.5 points is no more.
