Hello everyone! We were on a tour of the "Pearl of Sri Lanka"
Part 9. Ravana Falls is located at an altitude of 3445 feet above sea level.
Wellawaya-Ella-Kumbalwela Highway.
The 19-meter cascading Ravana Waterfall is located near the town of Ella, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. you can swim here, the water is warm.
If you believe the legends, Ravana is a demon with 10 heads and 20 arms. Ravana did not obey any laws and rampaged in It's been a long time for Elle. Confirmation of this can be found in the texts of the Ramayana: "Where Ravana appeared, the sun lost its power, the wind stopped blowing, the fire stopped burning and the raging ocean pacified its waters." So, this demon stole Rama's wife, Sita, and hid her in one of the caves near Ravana Falls. It is believed that its cool waters are illuminated by the virtue of Sita.
There are also a lot of monkeys there, you can feed them. The water in the waterfall is warm.

A beautiful waterfall with beautiful views and lots of monkeys. I advise everyone. It's cool next to it, it's located close to the road, so it's worth a look on the way to Ella from the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

There are a lot of waterfalls in Sri Lanka, during our stay we managed to see only two, Ravana is one of them. It is certainly good for its accessibility, it is visible right from the road to the nine-arch bridge, you just get out of the car and find yourself on the observation deck, you can climb higher and view it from different angles.
The flip side, of course, is the crowds of tourists of all stripes and local merchants.
The place is certainly colorful, easily accessible and free, besides, we definitely visit!🤩

I was impressed not by the waterfall itself, but by the monkeys walking there completely freely. They get into the frame next to you and pose.

The waterfall is located on the road to Ella from Matara, it is impossible to pass by)) it is very beautiful and picturesque. If you come to Ella by train, then do not be lazy to get to it.
