I would like to express my gratitude to the border guards of the Kayrak checkpoint. We crossed the border in 10 minutes. The border guards are polite and friendly. The staff worked quickly, smoothly, and in an organized manner. All the windows at passport control were open, and the inspection of the car also did not take much time. It is clear that they were preparing for the influx of people with the beginning of the autumn holidays)
I want to add a review: the situation has changed!!!We are now standing for the third hour in front of the Kazakh border, 3 Gazelles have just passed right in front of us, which arrived about twenty minutes ago. The question arises, at least, about bias, and, at most, think for yourself... This has never happened before. I ask the management to pay attention. On August 17, 19.50, there is a shift at the Kazakhstan entrance barrier! We are ready to stand for a long time, we understand that the border is loaded, the weekend is over... But against someone having an advantage.
There are no complaints about the staff, they are polite and friendly. There is no toilet for visitors in the room, or you go to the outdoor one, or you wait until the Russian checkpoint, there is.
A strange scheme of baggage inspection - if you take the bags out of the trunk, then carry them to the tape. If you didn't get it, just drive through.
Most of all, it is annoying that thug cars with Kazakhstani license plates go around the queue and drive under the barrier, nodding importantly to the border guards. In two hours of standing in front of the crossing, about 10 cars passed this way.
Towards Kazakhstan: on the night of April 30 to May 1, the border checkpoint was not ready for a relatively large flow of cars - they were parked a little less than in Russian, but still about 3 hours. Groups of trucks are allowed to pass in turn, while cars stand, then vice versa. Why not make a separate entrance for the trucks? Unlike the Russian checkpoint, the building had several windows for registration
