A beautiful small fishing port town. We were on the route of the Astoria Grande cruise ship in January 2025. On the main street, there are small souvenir shops and oriental sweets, 2 times cheaper than in Istanbul. The main attractions within walking distance are the fortress, the Kemer bridge, the lighthouse on the other side of the bridge, the obelisk next to the bridge, the Amasra Museum, where you can walk for free on the territory. There is a magnificent view of the harbor and rabbit Island on the mountain where the lighthouse is located. There are few locals during this period, apparently mainly the summer residences of urban residents of the metropolis.
Amasra is an extremely cozy and picturesque, very authentic little town on the northern coast of Turkey. It looks more like an Italian seaside town.
There are remains of an old Genoese fortress on the territory of the town.
It's a pity, but it's quite difficult to get there. The easiest way is by sea on a cruise ship.
