Oh, this is a place that is definitely worth a visit. There is an abundance of indescribable beauty of mountains and lakes. There are many restaurants nearby, where it is a little expensive, but they will feed you tasty. You should also definitely take a ride on the lake on a catamaran. Only from the lake can you see in all its glory the mountains around the perimeter of the lake.
The road to this lake leads to the left from the observation deck of the main tourist lake Ritsa. If you are driving, then drive to the left of the observation deck, then climb a little higher past the Apsny cafe and a little higher to a small parking lot for 8-10 cars. From there, a path leads through the forest with winding tree roots, ascents and descents, ascents and descents again (the height of the lake above sea level is 1250 meters). Definitely need comfortable closed shoes. Converses, crocs, and even more so slates / sneakers will not be at all comme il faut on such a walk. Telescopic walking sticks are good helpers in this matter. There are usually wooden sticks at the bottom, which can be used and then returned back for the next tourists.
Walk from the upper parking lot along the trail through the forest for 1h-1h15 minutes at a calm pace (plus 25-30 minutes if you stomp on foot from the observation deck). You will not be able to accelerate much along a forest path with a climb of about 300 meters. The temperature outside Lake Superior was 8-10 degrees lower than in the resort area (10/29/24). So take a warm top with you. We arrived in shorts and T-shirts from +18 to +8, changed into pants and sweatshirts, and a warm vest with gloves came in handy on the lake itself.
It is better to walk in the morning. Especially if you go for beautiful photos. By itself, the small lake is not as picturesque as the big brother below. In addition, there is little sunlight and photos in the afternoon will be against the light, which is not so beautiful. We arrived 2.5 hours before sunset and the sun's rays licked only the tops of the trees. Not very good for photos.
Near the lake, you can have a picnic with your groceries and then take the garbage back on yourself. The lake is formed by melting snow from the tops of the slopes and there is no infrastructure for tourists there. There is a toilet. And a lot of fallen trees for a rest stop. And there's a stunningly beautiful silence up there.
A beautiful secluded place. A scenic trail leads from Lake Ritsa through the forest.
It's a pity you can't swim, but you can go boating or enjoy the scenery while sitting on a boulder.
