There are three small dry karst halls and several passages between them, but there are so many interesting things! Firstly, the temperature is +12 in winter and +15 in summer. Secondly, dryness. These two features turn the cave into a convenient place for ancient people to live and for the good preservation of archaeological finds. Ancient leather shoes were found here, as well as ceramic vessels where the first wine was stored along with the bones of people. It's just a pity that they take guided tours here after the tasting, so the audience is often tipsy. We came across a knowledgeable and interested guide, who, alas, could not tell us as interesting as she wanted to. Admission is 1,500 per person, and the tour in Russian was free. 3.01.2025

A small but very interesting tour. An ancient cave with ancient artifacts excavated right under your feet. The guide Eriknaz Margaryan is an incredibly pleasant girl, it is clear that she loves her job very much, she answered all our questions)) a place of incredible beauty

Be careful! There is a parking lot next to the cave entrance and another large parking lot on the left with a restaurant and a winery Suspicious security guards with dogs collect money for parking at the entrance We drove by in the car and the target was a restaurant As soon as we got out of the car, a dog ran aggressively at us from the guard at the entrance to the cave! We miraculously survived, they bit us and no one even helped. I wouldn't be surprised if they specifically sent their aggressive dog at us. This is an extremely unsafe place. No one wants to be responsible for this. Then they just took the dog away. And no one explained, and as a result, there was no trace. But 3-4 people and 3-4 mongrel dogs were on duty at the entrance, and a Caucasian dog attacked us. No civilization, this place is dangerous! Terrible There are no photos, because in a state of effect, we went to the medical clinic to get medical help and did not wait for the police officers who were called. It is clear that there is an atmosphere of panic, threats and dangers here While passing through, we decided to stop at a restaurant and drive on. They write at the bottom that the Americans are sponsoring it; then the attitude is clear that they are sending their dog to Russian tourists, there is no security And in general, I noticed everywhere they collect money from scratch, no tickets, no civility., Some people with aggression with dogs

Two karst halls, compact, but how interesting! This is one of the first preserved caves with karas, where wine was made for religious purposes. Lots of interesting things, including live bats... Wow

There is a cave complex in the Vayots Dzor region near the village of Areni, in one of them archaeologists have discovered several cultural layers from the VI-Vth century BC to the XII-XIV centuries. The cave is located at an altitude of 1080 meters above sea level, you will have to climb up. Inside there are 3 large halls where you can see the finds of archaeologists. Mostly ceramics, but there is also a rarity - the most ancient women's slipper (5500 BC).

There is a cave not far from the village of Areni, about 110 kilometers from Yerevan. It was recently opened. In 2007. The remains of the dwellings were excavated. Guided tours are provided.

If you are nearby, then be sure to stop by! A beautiful and interesting place! Archaeological excavations are still underway, as the guides will tell you. Entrance is paid. Paths, passages, lighting and information signs are organized in the caves.

I really liked the ancient cave with an ancient winery! But the fact that everything is funded by the United States was disturbing. It is a pity that Armenia does not have funds for its own attractions... It's a mess, just like ours!
