A wonderful and beautiful hotel. I dreamed of taking the fragrant composition from the lobby with me. The standard room is not large, but it is logical and convenient. One of the best pillows of my life is in this hotel.
It takes 30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel, 30 minutes on foot to Marina Bay, and about 30 minutes by car to Sentosa.
Dinner buffet 4 out of 5, a lot of people, the food is good, but not wow, very noisy.
Gardens and greenery are beyond praise. The pool is cold in January.
A beautiful building created by a cool local architectural bureau. Attention to detail, ergonomics of rooms. It is a pity that this building has come under the management of this particular group of hotels like ParkRoyal! If you're a fan of cool architecture, then it's definitely worth spending the night here. If you are only pursuing the goal of relaxing your body, then you are not here! We were a group of 2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 12 and spent 3 nights.
Let's start with the settlement:
We booked an urban suite with 2 rooms on their website, but the website and booking does not allow us to specify 2 children, although the room is not small by Singapore standards - 48 sq.m. We indicated in the comments that we would be with 2 children and asked to prepare 1 EXTRA bed. We arrived at the hotel around 23:00 – EVERYTHING is CLOSED, neither to drink tea, nor to order in the room, although there is a friendly sign in the room – ALL DAY DINING with a schedule from 10-23! There was no extra bed. They explained to us that many families had stopped by. It's strange, because we booked deeply in advance and not for 1 night to postpone our request.
Breakfast!
The opening hours of the breakfast are until 10:30, and it is LOGICAL that the main stream of people is from 9:00 - 10:30, then in the same restaurant there is a paid breakfast for visitors. Therefore, around 9:30, you may encounter a QUEUE of 20 people BOARDING the restaurant! We remind you that the hotel is 5*)
Breakfast is standard and not fancy. All products are repeated from day to day, and pineapples are given only on holidays! There are no fresh vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots, etc. I pay attention to the COFFEE. It's one of the bad-smelling automatic machines here, so you definitely won't be able to enjoy your morning coffee here. There was also no way to order, even for money. You won't get any freshly squeezed orange juice, just packaged juice diluted with kilograms of ice. The other juices presented are also disgusting. There is no bottled water for breakfast either, only filtered from the tap. Be prepared that some of the breakfast items in the shared restaurant may be from yesterday! For example, dry croissants.
One day we couldn't be patient enough to wait in line for 20 people, and then the reception gave us access to breakfast in a suite on the 14th floor. To say that this is a FIASCO is an understatement. There are only cereal and rolls and a couple of pieces of sausage on the table! No omelette, nothing else hot! Breakfast is served in the former suite room, which was not renovated at all from the fleur of the room.
Room cleaning.
This is the finish line. After the first night, they didn't clean up and slipped a piece of paper with the text under the door: We came to see you, but the "Do not disturb" button was turned on, so we left. I must say that the "do not disturb" button, apparently, was inherited from the previous tenants, and we did not even think to press it. The next day, without much hesitation, they started ringing the doorbell before 9:00 a.m., we asked them to come in immediately after 5 minutes, because we were almost at the exit. Of course, after breakfast we returned, but there was no one there! The rooms are cleaned, but mediocre. Yes, there are cute things – pillow fragrance. But you won't get any sweets OR WATER.
In general, I'm tired of the fact that, under the guise of caring about the environment, the hotel does not provide many things. It seems to me that DRINKING tap water after a carbon filter is not quite suitable for 5 stars with a corresponding price tag per night.
When this filter was changed, how it is better and how it helps the environment is not clear. One thing is clear that they have saved money on water for the residents.
The overall impression of the building.
I'll repeat it again. Everything the architects have in mind looks cool and relevant, despite the fact that the building is more than 10 years old. BUT carpets worn to holes in public areas, the lack of 24/7 working infrastructure and competent management are worthy of 3 stars rather than 5 stars.
I am writing this review specifically in Russian, because the hotel management does not command any respect to write in a language that is CONVENIENT for them!
Great hotel. We took a club lounge with unlimited cocktails and snacks - it fully justified itself.
Of course, there are hotels with a more luxurious selection of dishes in the lounge, but this is a solid four.
The rooms are small, but with large windows and views of the greenery and the city. There are many lighting modes. The room cleaning is excellent and frequent.
