Refresh Blue - March 25
I'll start with the pros:
- located on the seashore, 30 m and the ocean
- Large rooms
- I did not see any cockroaches, beetles, fleas, ticks in the room or on the territory of the hotel.
- Comfortable mattress and clean bed linen without stains, etc., comfortable pillows.
- Excellent air conditioning and fan. Electronic control, blows diffusely, cools well at a minimum.
- They give you beach towels and change them as many times as you need them.
- There is breakfast
- There is a swimming pool
- The cleaning is not bad
- Every day they add a bottle of water per person to the room.
- Gorgeous ocean view from the balcony
- Good location, there are shops and a pharmacy nearby
- There is a shower, toilet and technical facilities on the beach. The shower is right at the intersection of sand and tiles
- They give you adapters for sockets as many as you ask for:2-3-4 pcs.
Cons and there are a lot of them too:
- The fattest one! There is no elevator. We lived on the 3rd floor and it was very difficult to climb every time!
- Problems with water. Sometimes you wash well, sometimes lukewarm water flows, almost cold. We didn't understand what this was about, but it certainly wasn't about water intake, because we got up for an early excursion once and also observed lukewarm water.
- The breakfast menu is the same every day.
- The towels are washed, but everything is stained. In general, we didn't worry about it, because they were washed.
- Weak Internet connection in the room, but it is there
- There are sharp corners in the pool, and slippery tiles on the sides. It's okay for adults, it's dangerous for children. My son was swimming, but we constantly made sure that he did not run and carefully swam around the bots.
- There is no exchanger nearby....there is an exchange at the grocery store, but at a low exchange rate.
- The sockets are plugged in, they give adapters for our plug at the reception, but everything is kept on snot))) you put the phone down and don't touch it, because the charging from the wiggles will stop.
- In room 301, the outlet in the bathroom does not work, you will dry your hair on a whim not at the mirror. They asked to fix it, the staff piled up the bolt))))
From observations, the sea is active near the hotel, high waves (were 16.03.27.03.25) it is dangerous to swim with children. We overcame a band of waves and swam beyond the place where they swirl.
The hotel was built in 2019, but because of the climate, it managed to get worn out. On the balcony, the door handles are eaten with salt. There is no clothes dryer, we stretched the rope and took clothespins with us.
Once, due to a severe thunderstorm, the lights went off for an hour, but the hotel switched to a generator.
The staff is friendly, smiling, there are no sideways glances and aggression at all.
In general, taking into account the peculiarities of the country, I give the hotel a solid 4. We were 12 days, two adults and a child with a direct flight from Moscow (azur air) cost us 370 tr.
The vaunted Citrus would have cost us about 500 tr, but I cannot say that it is an order of magnitude higher than this hotel. Yes, more, but the sea storms the same for everyone))
We didn't go to Unawatuna, on principle, because it's very unclear with housing there, either a guesthouse and what it will be like only after the fact, or a guest room, but these are generally Spartan conditions…
Hikkaduwa has a better choice of accommodation than Unawatuna, but the sea in Una is calmer. The choice is yours, have a good rest and vivid impressions!
The hotel is on the shore. The beach is kupable. The waves don't pull you down. There are many cafes and shops nearby. The problems at the hotel are solved by the manager, by the way, a great guy.
The Internet was knocked out a couple of times. Electricity once. The food for breakfast is the same. Dinner at the hotel - the portions are large, but not tasty.
Nice hotel. A convenient approach to the beach, sun beds, beach towels, a shower after the ocean - it's all there. The rooms are clean enough. The breakfasts are full.
I recommend having lunch and dinner in other places, because their dishes are a little monotonous. It seems that the menu is large, but everything that is not brought is all curry. In general, you can try their cuisine, but the price is too high in my opinion.
I recommend the hotel.
