The tour starts from the city of Sanya. You can get to the island by boat or by funicular, I liked the second one more - I really like the picturesque views from a height. And they are picturesque here. About 1000 monkeys are registered in a fairly small park, they live in natural conditions, roam freely around the territory and enjoy communicating with tourists. We are their guests here and we must respect their customs so that they are friendly to us. Follow the guide's instructions to avoid misunderstandings with aggression on their part or attempts to steal your camera or wallet. At the entrance, you will be greeted by several cute monkeys with welcome posters in their hands, and then our distant ancestors will accompany you throughout the walk. You can bring your own or buy treats at the entrance, which you will treat them to. You will find several short performances-shows with the participation of monkeys themselves, as well as tightrope walkers, pony horses and colorful parrots. The guide will tell you what socially useful work the monkeys are doing here, I will not take away his bread. The territory of the park is well-groomed, neat, beautiful, there are reservoirs where monkeys swim with a high.
On the way back to the queue (and what did you want, this is a very popular tourist place) for the cable car, be on your guard and look up: monkeys accompanying you sometimes climb up to the ceiling on the roof frame of the terminal and can spray you for a long memory. The terminal's service people chase them away, but they may not keep track of all of them.
Monkey Island will leave a very pleasant impression if you like interactive communication with animals. I recommend including this tour in the event plan if you are going on vacation to Hainan Island. We were thrilled.
The island is big, but the part where the monkeys are probably 5 percent of a hundred. You can get around it quickly. Immediately on the playground you will be greeted by a pack of monkeys and a caretaker with a bag of food and stones clutched in his fist. If the monkeys start brawling, they are shown a pebble and they quickly calm down. There is a very interesting statue of a monkey with a skull in his hand, sitting on Darwin's books, on which monkeys crawl, they will show a prison for especially violent monkeys (a small cage), a monkey theater (everything is clear in the video) and a couple of souvenir shops. Any photo where you interact with monkeys is for money, you can just take pictures. If you are invited to the stage, you will be asked for money. Keep in mind that if you leave the territory of this monkey valley to go to the fishermen's village for lunch, then you will not be allowed back on the funicular. It was like that in our band. And most importantly, animals are beaten, and they steal water, glasses, caps, and phones. The tour was taken at the hotel.
Monkey Island is a great place to walk! You can get there either by funicular or by boat. It is a pity that on the day of our visit there was no access to the monkey beach and there were no performances, but this did not spoil the mood and the walk in any way. One caveat: the funicular has open cabins and the wind is whistling))))
