One of the best establishments in Samarkand!
An infinitely wonderful combination of tradition and modern style in the interior! Divine pilaf!! The staff was good-natured and helpful, they ordered a large portion of pilaf and various salads, the locals eat with a spoon from shared plates, I asked for separate plates for each, they brought it without any problems. But there may not be enough pilaf for everyone)) make it to the restaurant before 13:00. The first time we arrived at 13:30 and we didn't have enough, we went the next day by 11:30 - we had enough)) After 12:00 there is a large flow of locals, the pilaf ends quickly..
We were here by a company on the recommendation of the locals. The room is gorgeous - it's very beautifully decorated, the tables are beautifully set in the restaurant, fresh salads, we ordered 4 servings of pilaf - the pilaf is very tasty, but there were a few overshadowing our visit to this institution, but... in one of the portions of pilaf, instead of meat, they put a solid piece of fat, in another portion of pilaf there was a stone 🪨 Stone ok, this happens in rice it turns out there's a human factor here - they didn't see it, but why a piece of fat in pilaf instead of meat?! Thanks to everyone - my teeth are intact
We really liked it. It's a real pilaf center, it's fashionable to say. The pilaf is delicious) That's the most important thing. There really wasn't much chickpeas in it, I love it, but otherwise everything is fine! I haven't seen the menu, just come, a man comes up to you with a cart and salads, collect everything you want and ask for pilaf. Then you will find out the price) but in general it is normal. We had a huge portion of pilaf, I think for 2x76 thousand soums. Salads of 10 thousand. Maintenance is added on top.
Pros: Very cozy, beautiful, clean place. Pilaf is prepared twice a day for lunch and dinner. The staff and staff are friendly and speak several languages. The price of pilaf is lower than other establishments. There's a lot of pilaf in one serving!
Cons: There is a lot of animal fat than the meat in the pilaf, the zigir oil is slightly more, the rice is not fully ripe.
It's the tastiest pilaf I've ever tasted! I wanted Samarkand, but they don't cook everywhere in the city in the evening, usually at lunch.
A pleasant and friendly atmosphere, even led to the kitchen and the chef briefly talked about the production technology. In general, I recommend it!
When we were in Samarkand, we ate pilaf here. The menu includes only pilaf, tortillas, salads, tea and cola. Very tasty! I just want to lick the plate. The prices are affordable. The cafe is clean, comfortable chairs (not a canteen). And the main advantage is that you can eat pilaf at any time, not just before lunch. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and brought out the freshest pilaf. I highly recommend it.
OSHQAND is a Samarkand restaurant specializing in authentic Uzbek pilaf. Here you can try several types of pilaf, including the traditional one with beef, raisins and chickpeas. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is high, and the prices are affordable. A great place to explore Samarkand cuisine! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very tasty pilaf and oriental sweets. An interesting room and fast service. This place is for locals, and it's great. There is no menu, several snacks are brought to the table and you order the main course. order
You need to understand that this is not a standard cafe/restaurant. There is no menu here. The waiter brings a selection of salads, appetizers, and sauces on a cart. They don't speak Russian here. Apart from tomatoes and cabbage, all the other products on the plates are unfamiliar, the waiter cannot explain. They took mountain onions at random (that's what the waiter said) — it's unusual and very suitable for pilaf, and something like matzoni or thick sour cream (very sour in taste).
Pilaf is served at a certain time. We were lucky, we waited no more than half an hour on the day of our arrival, and the pilaf began to be served at about 17:30.
The pilaf is delicious. This is the only pilaf that we ate during our short trip to Samarkand, but it definitely deserves to be part of the cultural heritage.
I liked the local atmosphere and traditions.
Yesterday we visited Samarkand, tasted this impeccable, very tasty pilaf "zigir". I RECOMMEND it to everyone, you will not regret it!!! The price is much cheaper than in Tashkent, the place is clean, beautiful, the service is excellent, the manager of the hall controls everything, he also has a separate Respect. God willing, we will come again and again. Ishilarga omad, bizlar mingdan ming rozimiz!!!
I definitely recommend it. We've had it several times, excellent pilaf, and the company brings it in a large plate with pieces of meat that you chop yourself (or you can ask the waiter). A cart with pickles and salads is brought to the pilaf, you pick it up yourself according to taste and volume. The visitors are mostly local, there are practically no women. The host is very friendly and cheerful. Fresh pilaf is prepared for the opening at 11:00 and for dinner at 18:00, but we came for the first time around 14:30 - there was pilaf. There is baklava for dessert. There is no alcohol.
The prices are for five people with pilaf, additives, tea, baklava 300-350 thousand soums.
It's a wonderful pilaf place, if you want something else, you can't go here, the service is good, the interior and atmosphere are wonderful, there are interesting and delicious Uzbek snacks and stews for pilaf.
It's a great place. We ate pilaf and all kinds of accompanying snacks for two (homemade kefir with herbs, flatbread, etc.), drank tea with lemon in May 2025 for 750 rubles. Everything is very tasty and fast, there's nothing to complain about, I recommend it!
Very tasty pilaf I have tried pilaf in many places, it is good and delicious here, they work quickly and carefully so that it is so until the end, but there is a question whether the meat on top of the pilaf is measured on scales or without, it just seems to me that meat is much more than rice.
We tried pilaf for 5 days in places that local people recommended to us.
And this place, in our mutual opinion, is the best. The pilaf is very tasty, but the salads are just like the others.
The atmosphere is pleasant and very comfortable, but this is not the case everywhere in Samarkand.
In 10 days in Uzbekistan, the only place where we finished the pilaf. It's very tasty, Chef Faridun and the Manager are great, open-minded guys. They taught me how to cook Samarkand pilaf. Alla Birsa, I'll come back on occasion, vivid emotions for life!
A restaurant for locals. Pilaf is prepared for a certain time, several salads are served, and that's it. A huge portion of pilaf, for at least 2 people. Very tasty and authentic.
It has the most delicious pilaf in Samarkand. A very original presentation, first they give salads to choose from, a flatbread, then they bring out pilaf on a large plate, pilaf from two types of meat, very tasty! The prices are very low.
The place is clean. But the quality and taste of the pilaf does not match the price. The meat is dry, there is almost no oil, so the rice is dry and firm. The price of the portion does not include tea, bread and salad, which was very surprising. Only for tourists, I don't recommend it to locals, it's expensive and it sucks.
A wonderful place, very colorful, delicious pilaf is cooked beyond praise, and oriental sweets are 11 out of 10. I recommend you to visit, but remember at 14 o'clock there is only a little left with everything)
It's a wonderful place. Sooooo delicious pilaf. The locals recommended this place. There are a lot of people, but they will definitely find a place for you. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff. Very large portions. Feel free to take less, we couldn't finish eating. For three people with salads, kampot, ayran and cola, 150,000 soums came out.
A wonderful place! Very tasty pilaf, fast service, beautiful interior, as I understand it, you can come at any time: pilaf is cooked four times a day (at 11:00, 14:00, 18:30 and 23:00). You do not need to book a table in advance. I want to return to Samarkand for the sake of such a pilaf 😋 The only disadvantage is that the women's toilet was under repair, they sent it to the men's, there are just holes in the floor of a small diameter 🙈
I recommend. Our guide brought us here. Lots of local families are eating.
The pilaf is delicious. There are a lot of pickles and salads. The prices are adequate
A good place, you can safely recommend it to tourists. New furniture, very clean, try hard, inexpensive. What is important is that there are a lot of local visitors, and they are the ones who are raging. For my taste, the pilaf is not a "dump of the head", but very decent, 4 out of 5.
I advise all non-locals and guests of our city to be shocked by this place myself and the service is good and the pilaf is wonderful and the desserts are delicious
It's not an ordinary menu.
It's called zhivoe)))
Salads of the day are brought separately on a cart to choose from. And hot pilaf. You can take 1 large plate of pilaf for two.
There is no juice, just coffee, tea, cola, and water.
Dinner was delicious
I didn't like it. A very strange attitude towards the guests of the "restaurant" is difficult to even call it that, dirty cups on the table ((the waiters are not friendly from the word at all, they are tired, very tired and they are tired of everything. Here is the impression of this institution
A great place where you can eat excellent, delicious Samarkand pilaf even in the evening. I have been living in Uzbekistan for 36 years, but the pilaf in this place was the most delicious of all that I ate. Thanks to the institution and the staff
The place is amazing!
Beautiful interior, excellent service, interesting layout and delicious pilaf!
The portions are healthy, it is possible that one will be enough for three people. One serving is 80 thousand.
Awesome cherry compote, try it for sure.
Undeservedly few reviews of this wonderful restaurant!
A great place to eat pilaf in the evening!!! I would also like to mention the staff, attentive, non-annoying and at the same time caring)))the pilaf itself is very tasty, it seems to be full, but if you put a new portion next to it, you start eating again, you won't stop. The music is not loud, in the background, calm, that's what you need!!!!
An institution for tourists. Very beautiful. And not expensive. Pilaf is not bad either. The service is at a high level. A variety of salads. A small minus is far from the center.
Hooray!🎉We found a great place where you can eat atmospherically tasty and cheap, because everywhere they want to warm you up like a tourist with their own pilaf.
Many thanks to the staff! They worked like a close-knit family, it was very nice to see that they were all burning with their work!♥️🤗
The place is clean, hygiene is at a good level, but the pilaf is not very good, too dry and does not match its price. The average rating is 3 out of 5.
