It's a beautiful place. It's budget-friendly, but there's everything you need to live and everything is clean. The center of Nungwi with supermarkets, an exchange office, a pile is only 2 minutes away, and the beach is 5 minutes away. There is also a bus station and a bus stop nearby. The cafe next to the bus station is just a song both in terms of prices and food. The cafe by the sea is more expensive, and inside the street, if you turn around the massage parlor, there is a cafe for locals with ridiculous prices.
The hotel offers breakfast (omelette/scramble, pancakes, toast, fruit+ tea and coffee without restrictions). Each time they bring a plate of fruit to everyone (a couple of pieces of pineapple, watermelon, a piece of papaya and a small banana). You come and sit down and they bring you everything. There is peanut butter, jam, and chocolate sauce for the toast and pancake). The coffee is instant, but delicious.
The rooms are austere, but pleasant and spacious. There is no furniture, it is not a problem for us. The air conditioner is there and works well - this is the most important thing, there is a fan and a European outlet (although you can also manage to get into the local one with three holes).
Everything is nearby, the beach is 5 minutes away, the owner - Ali speaks Russian, studied in Moscow for 6 years. The staff is friendly, cleaning every day.
The refrigerator is shared, there is a table and a bench for evening relaxation in the garden, by the way, I also liked the garden. Small, but cozy.
There are a lot of diving centers nearby. There are salons where they weave braids, do temporary tattoos, massages, and just sell a bunch of trinkets. You need to bargain from the bottom of your heart - drop the price 2-3 times at once. And yet the locals are very intrusive in terms of providing services and goods, well, it's impossible on the beaches (I'm talking about the popular kind of Nungas), you can just endlessly talk if you answer everyone something. But there is also understanding - they still live in poverty and use all the opportunities to earn a living. They are very friendly and generally positive people. They play soccer on the beach in the evenings. The Maasai do acrobatic routines. Music will memorize their coastal cafes. And there is nothing more charming than a sunset over the ocean.
The water is amazing, I don't want to leave the ocean.
But as soon as it gets dark, it's not worth swimming (all kinds of animals become active)
We were in February 2025, and the weather was fine. Be sure to use sunscreen and do not sunbathe at noon. We bought malaria prevention pills at the pharmacy and plan to bring them with us. Although malaria is more dangerous during the rainy season (and we didn't get into it), we are hedging our bets.
If you walk along the beach to the left for 20 minutes, you can easily walk to the aquarium with turtles (natural pool) and to the zoo (entrance everywhere costs 10 Bucks).
See the photo, it's all from the hotel and the beach nearby (5 min walk)
