A very beautiful place with views of the mountains and the sea! But for more than 20 years, the hands did not reach the repair of the railway station, although the architecture admires it! It was very beautiful once, and you can still feel the splendor and love of the architect for his creation! A lot of such architectural masterpieces have been abandoned in Abkhazia. I want the whole world to collect a little bit and restore all this former beauty! But for some reason there are no such enthusiasts.

What passengers visiting the station in New Athos need to know: first of all, you have arrived in the most beautiful city in Abkhazia and all the disadvantages should not be noticed! The station itself is not equipped, there is nowhere to hide from the sun and rain, waiting for the train (there are a couple of bushes and a beautiful old station building (slightly painted, but not equipped), it is better to order a transfer from the station in advance, there may not be a taxi at the exit (the price is about 250 rubles for any distance around the city), to it's a long way to walk to hotels; you can't buy water and food for the road at the station itself, so take care of it in advance, you won't find movers either; you need to go out and down the stairs, but the descent is small with a recreation area. Tickets are not sold at the station, so buy them in advance in the Russian Railways app. There is a market near the train station and many stalls with food and souvenirs. Have a good rest, everyone 😊
