Montserrat Monastery is beautiful inside, but the area outside is simply mesmerizing. For the sake of completeness, I recommend taking the funicular to the top and walking along the trails there, but for this you need to set aside more time.

An amazing place, amazing mountains, a monastery too. Well, there are a lot of tourists, pilgrims, mountain walkers. It is not difficult to get from Barcelona, but in order for the trip to be without surprises, I recommend exploring everything on the monastery's website - starting from buying a ticket at the right time to see the basilica with the Madonna, ending with the features of parking (if by car), the opening hours of the dining room, etc. It is better to have a reserve of time everywhere, since the distances in the monastery complex are decent. But all the efforts are worth it without a doubt.
