In this hotel, the staff steals money! The owner knows this perfectly well, and does nothing, on the first evening, when I talked about the theft, he was not even surprised, no help or sympathy, said that there were no cameras, but allowed free dinner, but the next day the owner behaved impudently, and said that we were lying, that all our money was stolen, because the next day he apparently found out that his staff had left us some money, left a little, and those savings were not my personal ones, but they had to be transferred, but my money for spending was taken away, all the baht and all my dollars! The owner is terrible, and on the second day he openly laughed in my face, and said that he did not believe that all the money had been stolen, and in general $ 200 (what was stolen in dollars) was very little for a vacation, although I was in Phuket for only 4 days. The money was well hidden in the bags, and those in other bags, but everything was rummaged through while we were on the beach. The safe did not work, they promised to change it for many days. Stay away from this hotel. Such theft leaves an unpleasant residue, and the whole vacation becomes spoiled. The owner is definitely in the share, and he knows exactly everything, he gave himself away with his conversations and his behavior!
It's a good place. It is perfectly and conveniently located. To the sea 3 min. But there is a steep climb, which can be inconvenient. Friendly staff. It's picturesque, squirrels are running)) there is a sunbathing area. There are also free towels for the beach
I have the most unpleasant impressions of Merit Hill Bungalow. And not because there is something particularly bad about living here (a typical tired-of-life guesthouse with ants, no worse and not the best of others), but because of the unpleasant aftertaste from communicating with management. It was in March 2020, when restrictions were imposed on Phuket every now and then. My family and I arrived here on March 15th, the reservation was for 13 days. On March 28, we checked out and took the Lomprai transfer to Koh Samui. But we could only get to the office, where we were informed that ferries from Donsak no longer run. There is nothing to do, we return to Merit Hill, deciding to stay there for another 2 weeks before flying home. We give the hostess something about 15 thousand baht. But a day later it turns out that Phuket airport is about to close, and we have a return flight from Bangkok. We are buying a ticket to Pattaya, while Phuket Airport is still open, on March 31. In total, we stayed in Merit Hill for 3 days. I go to the reception, explain the situation and ask for a refund for the unlived days. The hostess declares that in fact, in this case, they do not return anything at all (they say, we are moving out of our own free will - she does not care about the closure of the airport), but, so be it, she will return half, 6000 baht.
No arguments work on her.
Here is a situation that well characterizes the true face of the inhabitants of the "land of smiles". It is not for nothing that they say that a friend is known in trouble.
So, don't set foot in Merit Hill bungalow anymore.
One of the advantages is the location, excellent terraces in front of the room, a lot of greenery on the territory. Of the cons, there is no Wi-Fi, there are a lot of insects in the room. We lived with a lizard for two weeks :)))) In general, it is good. Everything is within walking distance.

Not far from the beach. A quiet and cozy hotel. There are several accommodation options. Breakfast was not taken. Excellent price/quality ratio.
